Paint Nite

I love Paint Nite. I have done several of these types of activities over the years and prefer Paint Nite to their competition. Their instructors are usually awesome, have great senses of humor and really engage their classes. You repeat an oath at the beginning of each class and I feel like this really sets the tone of how the class is going to go. They show you what to do, all you have to do at that point is relax and have fun.
My favorite instructors so far have been: Jason Good (seriously take a class with him-​you will love it-​and he will probably sing to you) and Cricket Manjarrez (our class had the giggles most of the night). Some venues they use are better than others; in my experience, I have found the service in bars to be far superior to that in restaurants, but that’s kind of out of their control.
They have paintings for all levels of detail desired and the schedule changes enough that you can attend a class every several months and not have to paint the same thing. They offer discounts via email for repeat customers and after each class the artist will give you a code to come back at a discounted rate. They are also often on Groupon– so you can watch for that too.
I also have to applaud their customer service. A few months ago, I had an issue with my pre-​purchased voucher and was able to submit a help ticket quickly and had an answer within 30 minutes.
A+ all around.

My fiancé and I did a Paint Nite at Champps Americana in Pentagon City. We painted a picture of the Washington monument and cherry blossoms along a reflection of the Tidal Basin. Our instructor was Jason Good and he was both patient and humorous in his instruction. We were provided the paint brushes (3 types), canvas, palate (which was already set up), and painting smocks. The class lasted 2 hours with a 10-​minute break in between. Make sure to look out for discounts, as we got a 40% discount for our two tickets when we visited! My fiancé and I had a wonderful time at Paint Nite and have 2 lovely paintings that we got to take home to show for it :) We’ll certainly do Paint Nite again!

I loved our instructor Lana! She was super relaxed but attentive and helpful at the same time. Would definitely go back to paint with her again.
The whole process was well organized and it made for a great Saturday afternoon activity. This is definitely the perfect activity for a date night, or just a fun few hours with a friend.

I love love LOVE PaintNite. Probably because I paint so much and am a designer for clothes, so these random date nights my boyfriend has planned randomly for over a year now are the best. The first few times we went to PaintNite, they were so enjoyable, but why did I decided to do a review now? Well tonight we went to Hard Times Café in Arlington and out of all of the teachers (which were all great people and super nice btw) Jason Good was by far the funniest teacher we’ve had so far! He made tonight so enjoyable and I’m once again proud of ourselves for accomplishing a Moderate Painting. The food at Hard Times café was awesome too, especially the Brownie Sundae… Mouth-​watering! Definitely try to have Jason Good as your teacher, he will make the whole lesson worth while.

I love Paint Nite and I usually go to Herndon, Sterling and Fairfax. I did a couple of paintings that now are in my kids room (Fireflies at Night and Firefly me to the Moon) and they are proudly telling everybody that comes into their room that their Mommy is an artist (LoL) Another one I made is displayed inn the garage because it did not turn the way I wanted but is good enough to make my garage walls look pretty. I am planning on making some paintings for our bathrooms.
The instructors are awesome, the lighting is usually bad which makes painting a little hard. Because these events are usually held at bars this is something to be aware of.

I’m giving it 3 stars because the location was terrible — Bertucci’s restaurant which means there was music playing and restaurant patrons talking making it very hard to hear our instructor. Unlike other paint classes, you have to buy your own drink on top of the ticket price. Then at the end of class they asked for tips, never had that happen at another paint class.

Went to my first Paint Nite last night, and it was awesome! We did «Spring Blossoms» with Heidi Gibson, she was very good at presenting and very encouraging!
Only reason I gave it 4 stars was the location, this one was at Hunan One in Arlington, the lighting was horrible! As a bar/​restaurant it was fine, but when you’re trying to paint a masterpiece it’s not so helpful.
