Great tasting empanadas, and a nice variety from which to choose. We did take-out, but I look forward to eating-in so I can enjoy the other menu options. Furthermore I liked the look of the eat-in service: a long wooden dish, with empanadas, dipping sauces and maybe plantain chips.

I eat here at least 2 times a month. It is a great place for a light snack or a full meal. Sauce for the empanadas is as good as the Empanadas are.

Excellent empanadas, great selection(try the brie one), great drips(sauces), and great presentation(long wooden canoa, fast service. Space is a little small and fills up fast, and orders can take a while as customers have to choose among a dizzying display of empanadas flavors. Some can sell out/not made every day so may get a slightly different selection each day. Nice outdoor patio for warm days. Place is self service counter. Cool Latin music in background.

This was a new experience for me and I am glad I tried it. Every empanda I had was hot and filled with great ingredients. We went for a few and ended up taking a dozen home. Their sauces complemented the flavors and added a kick. They have veggie options, plus beef, chicken, and dessert empandas. Hoping they branch out to Baltimore soon!

My wife and I did a Dupont Circle Empanada double(a bang-bang to fans of Louis CK) Panas and Julia’s. They are very different and each has their pros and cons. Julia’s has better empanadas, but Panas has great«dripping» sauces and the restaurant is much nicer. Also, Panas’ empanadas are much smaller and designed to be able to try a variety. Julia’s are each a meal unto themselves. At Panas, my wife and I shared a «canoe» of 8 empanadas. All 8 were good. The chicken and mushroom, roast pork, and brie and mushroom were the most memorable. The Aji and Pimenton were my favorite sauces. They’re listed as spicy, but were really quite mild. The plantain chips are a nice touch. We also got guacamole which was very good. Service was polite. Prices are really good for the area.

Tucked away in one of the streets just off DuPont Circle, I decided to check this place out yesterday for a quick lunch. I love empanadas so I was excited about the menu. Ordered at the counter. The menu designates options for singles, as well as bigger groups, which I found mildly annoying. The empanadas are somewhat small so I got the option with 3 empanadas, which comes with banana chips and 2 dips. I also got the mango juice. I got 3 of the veggie options: tamal, fiesta cheese and Brie. Overall, I found them somewhat dry and tasteless– basically the opposite of what an empanada should be like. It could be because they are baked and not fried. The fiesta cheese was decent and next time, if there is one, I’ll just get 3 of those. The juice and chips were yum. The dips were not. I’d give it 2.5 stars if I could but I’ll round up and give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

My Bree, mushroom, and artichoke empanada had good flavor, but the center was cold. The place was nice and clean and the food came out quickly. The person working the register was a little defensive when there was a miscommunication about what I ordered.(Plantain chips, I will never forget you) All that being said, I am hoping the cold empanada was a one off thing and probably give them another chance.

These were amazing! I have always enjoyed their empanadas as a «treat». If you like cheesy foods, these are the best. Definitely one of the better DuPont circle eating spots, especially if you want something quick. I like that they use the Belly app, so you can claim rewards if you are a more frequent customer. The only reason this was four stars is one of my empanadas was undercooked — but I had taken it to go — had I eaten it there I’m sure they would have heated it up for me. The people here are very nice!

Excellent quality ingredients, delicious, and reasonably priced. Can’t get any better than this. I got four empanadas(CP, PY, CM, CU) with two sauces and plantain chips for $ 9.50. The CM was my favorite, but they were all excellent. No line at lunch, but crowded enough that I had to wait two minutes for a table to open up.

Definitely would recommend the eggplant empanadas for vegetarian option! The roasted pork was also delicious but what makes Panas delicious are the sauces that come with. Each one of the sauces was fantastic. I like spicy so they aren’t for the faint of heart. I did get a side salad that I probably wouldn’t get again. It just wasn’t as good as the empanadas. Great food for a great price.

I was so happy to stumble upon this place, because I’d been here a few years ago, before I’d moved to DC, and had totally forgotten about how good these little guys are, I call them Scooby snacks! We had the steak and pork, with the spicy sauce and the mayo(?) which was very flavorful. I especially like thinly sliced plantain chips.

This place is the bomb! Best empanadas ever. They have a great variety for red meat lovers, as well as vegetarians. I ordered the ones that had Brie, mushrooms, three different cheeses, and veggies. They were all delicious! I even got seconds because they were truly to die for. This is definitely my go-to empanadas place in town. Also, if you feel like drinking fresh juice, I highly recommend the maracuja juice. Compliments the empanadas and super refreshing!

Good empanadas. Not too terribly filling, but reasonably priced for a variety. Place is very clean and staff are nice.

I picked up a combination of three different empanadas and plantain chips. The empanadas are very good and I like how they put the flavor codes on the side of each one so you know which one you’re eating. The ones here are different from what I remembered having in several Cuban restaurants when I was in Florida. These appear more«Americanized» with ingredients such as kale, goat cheese, ham, and mozzarella. But I still like how this place bakes their empanadas and use all natural ingredients. Also, the service was really good. As a first time customer, I felt well greeted and informed about the menu varieties.

This was my favorite lunch stop on my visit to D.C. for a work trip. I love all types of empanadas and this place did not disappoint. I had an order of 3 empanadas which is pretty filling for a lunch hour. I also added a side of guacamole to share with a group of friends. My favorite part of the guac was that it was served with plantain chips. They have an extensive list of empanada fillings and I really believe you can’t go wrong. I had a shredded beef, chicken, and an eggplant. This is a great place for vegetarians as well as they have a variety of veggie empanada options. This is a small location but every group in the restaurant was able to grab a table while I was there over lunch on a weekday. Order at the counter and they will bring you your food to the table. I would only suggest that they make their menu a little more clear. It was confusing to read and tough to find where they listed their combination lunch options. Regardless, this place stands out amongst all the other diner spots. Don’t forget to ask for the hot sauces!

Must have more empanadassss! This place is the real deal! Being married to a Chilean, I’ve acquired the«empanada cravings.» I found this place while visiting DC so of course I wanted to try it after reading the reviews. The restaurant is small but don’t let that fool you! I chose the combo with three empanadas served with plantain chips. These are Argentinean style so they are baked, not fried. There are a ton of fillings to choose from and each empanada is marked on the corner of the dough so you know what you’re eating. I ordered the beef(more traditional style with olives, peppers, and onions), the corn and cheese, and the spinach and cheese. All were so delicious! Plus, it was only around $ 7 for all of it which is a steal. I also ordered some alfajores(dulce de leche filled cookies with coconut). The people were also so nice and I noticed they do catering and big orders. If I lived in DC I would be coming here at least once a month!

This place is a solid empanada place and I would probably go back. I had the combo with 3 empanadas: Carne-Beef, green olives, Spanish peppers, hard boiled eggs, onions, and parsley. Chipotle Steak(CS): Shredded sirloin steak, carrots, and onions with chipotle sauce CubaNovo(CU): Roasted pork with onions, cilantro, lime, and Grand Marnier. All were delicious. The sauces were also pretty good. The spicy sauce isn’t very spicy, fyi. I liked the plantain chips that came with it. However, I do like Julia’s a smidge better. Came here because Julia’s was closed.

Great flavors. Good price. Awesome service. I have tried almost all of their empanadas and none have ever disappointed. My top 3 would be: Chipotle steak(CS), CubaNovo(CU), Tamal(TA). All the empanadas have the initials baked into the crust, which helps you distinguish one from another. The sauces are great too, the pimenton and aji are my favorites. Along with the great flavors, the service is excellent and very quick(you get your food in about 5 – 10 mins). Every time I have gone the employees are very friendly and funny. This is definitely a great spot to check out in DuPont.
