I have frequented this braiding salon three times within the last 4 months. My initial encounter was to receive waist length, medium box braids. I called prior to entering the salon and was quoted a price. I brought my own braiding hair and was charged a different amount when I entered the salon. Apparently, the price was misquoted by an employee, but the manager had the final say. Besides that mix-up, my experience was lovely. I was out in 5.5 hours, with beautifully even, waist length, box braids. My second encounter was two months after to have the perimeter re-braided — to keep the braids fresh. I brought my own hair, and was quoted a price. I was unsatisfied with the braiding job. The braids were tight — even after continuously informing the braider of such — and uneven. The braids were very thin towards the end; the hair was not fed into the braid well. Today, was my third and final encounter at this salon. I returned for the original style, waist length, medium box braids. I was quoted the same price I paid in the original encounter and was finished in 5 hours(they were consistent!), but I am unsatisfied with the braiding job. The braids are uneven, and thin towards the end; the hair was again, not fed well into the braid. The braids are also not waist length; they are bra-strap length. That is not what I asked or paid for. Also, I noticed in the back and crown area, my hair was braided down, that is not the box braid I asked for. All of this criticism was presented to the employees during and after. It’s unfortunate, because the salon is conveniently located for me, but I cannot support this business again. I wish them well.

Raggedy… Simply raggedy… And so is my hair :(. I’m not sure if I could consider this Senegalese twists.

I called and they said they were available. I literally came within 5 minutes of calling, and still had to wait 20 minutes. Additionally, they couldn’t do a simple feeder french braid. So I left with no services completed. Womp.

I am giving one star because I paid $ 180 for something I did not ask for. I asked for poetic justice size braids and walked out with micros… I have so many braids in my hair that I can’t even put it up in a pony tail and am going to have to take this tragedy down immediately… and yes I told her multiple times to make my braids larger and she insisted that they would not last because my hair is soft… that is not true I have had these size braids many times and they have always lasted! Wish she would have let me know she just wasn’t talented enough to make the braids that large and make them last! What a waist of money!!! And to top it off this place had rats! Umm gross I’m not from here so maybe this is a normal dc thing but I was so ready to go!!! Never ever again!

This is a great place! I called the day before looking to get micro braids, they told me I could come in Saturday morning at 8:30 for service. My hair was ultimately too long for micros, but they quickly improvised and I left with beautiful box braids for the reasonable price of $ 180 which included the hair. They were even careful not to braid too tightly around my edges! I have gotten lots of compliments on my hair and I absolutely love the versatility when i style them! I’m definitely going to come back to this place.

I love this place. I always return for their Senegalese twist. I’ve been back at least four times!!! Price $ 180. You won’t regret.
