Our experience with Pied-​à-​Terre has been overwhelmingly positive. On very short notice, they showed us an apartment that fit all our criteria. Then when our relocation plans hit a snag, they patiently worked with us to be sure we didn’t lose the apartment to circumstances beyond our control. Our apt. is in a great neighborhood (conveniently located near Whole Foods, CVS, restaurants, two Metro stations, etc.) and is beautifully furnished. Best of all, Pied-​à-​Terre has responded quickly to any of our questions or concerns, and they have been professional and personable throughout our stay.

I had a fantastic experience renting a 5 month furnished apt from Pied a Terre this year. They were extremely responsive during the lease process, changed a few clauses at my request and had everything waiting for me at arrival. The apt at the Gatsby is one of the. Icest I’ve ever rented, let alone for a short term stay. It’s well furnished and equipped and spectacularly located. Pied a Terre staff have been very helpful with my questions and gone out of there way to make this an enjoyable stay.

I was assigned to D.C. for a ninety day work assignment and stayed at the Lansburgh apartments on 8th Street NW. They were beautifully furnished. The best feature was the location! I was conveniently located within walking distance of three metro stations which gave me complete access to downtown D.C. and the surrounding areas which included trips to Old Town Alexandria and parts of Maryland. I also enjoyed the proximity to all of D.C.‘s fabulous tourist attractions. The apartment building is about one mile from the monuments and the Capitol. Finally, there are plenty of eating establishments to chose from should you chose to dine out but the apartment was completely equipped with a kitchen and amenities.

I regret that I didn’t get around to putting in this comment last summer. I have stayed with this company twice. The first time everything was great. The second time I had a horrible experience. I was told I would be renting a terrace apartment –which actually meant basement. (I suppose it was my fault for not asking about that thoroughly.) There were roaches in the apartment and although I complained a lot nothing was done except for to have the very kind maintenance man come on a weekend to sprinkle roach powder. No exterminators were ever called in, though I asked on a number of occasions. The AC did not work very well. For a furnished corporate housing type of place that charges the pretty high going rate, the pest problem was unacceptable. Having insects and then not even being willing treat the problem or move me to another unit or hotel temporarily made me dread coming back to the apartment. I usually never feel the need to put in a review. But here I thought I should warn some potential customers. If things go well You can have a good stay, but otherwise if problems turn up, do not expect them to be handled quickly in the timeframe that you are there.

My family and I rented from Pied-​a-​Terre Properties for almost 4 months. We lived at the Gables (1750 P St. NW). We loved the location and found Pied-​a-​Terre to be extremely flexible and accommodating. Even when we were looking for a place to rent from overseas, they always got back to us promptly. While living at Gables, whatever we needed was taken care of promptly and professionally. A couple of examples: They installed black out shades in the sunroom (so that our toddler could nap during the day) on a moment’s notice; they took out a piece of furniture that was not working for us (the unit was furnished) and replaced it with something that worked much better for us (a smaller coffee table); they were flexible with billing (how we paid, how expenses were listed on the bill, etc.). They even had a goodie bag with Starbucks coffee for us in the kitchen when we arrived, milk and juice in the fridge, etc. Very nice touch. We have been very pleased with them and would go with them again if we ever needed short term furnished housing in the D.C. area. We have friends who have used them in the past and they also had good experiences. Highly recommended — it doesn’t get any better than these guys in terms of property management.
