Bio

Payam has lived in the Virginia and DC area for most of his life. He’s been a part of the 17th Street community for almost 25 years, all the way back to when he was 12 years old and would help his father at Java House, a café now located steps from Pizza No. 17. After helping at Java House, he moved to New York City and opened a wine bar call Ini Ani, located in the Lower East Side. When Payam decided to move back to DC, he took over Java House, the family business, and then later opened Pizza No. 17.
