I went here with a couple of friends. I’ve had a stressful January and just needed to move 2 steps forward and 0 steps backward. Anyhow, I ordered the non-alcoholic version of a Moscow Mule as well as a Grapefruit Rickey. My friends had the special frozen drinks. For food, I had the pork belly, and my friends had the Mac and Cheese and Hot Pot. The pork belly was excellent. This is a modern take to Spanish/Filipino food with the Lechon. Although there were only 4 pieces of pork belly and a couple of fruit garnishes, the pork was prepped and cook very well. It really is an excellent dish and would highly recommend it. The service was 5⁄5 to go with the great food.

Recently went with a large(ish) group for brunch. Food was really good but service was kind of terrible. We kept having to ask for refills for our bottomless mimosas(mimosas were served in a French press for the table and had about 4 mimosas in them. We got two for our table of 10, so we were constantly asking for refills). Also, service started off incredibly slow. Like, waited 35 minutes for coffee and drinks slow. I wouldn’t have minded if it weren’t for the fact that we were strictly cut off on mimosas once we hit two hours there(which started with our reservation, not service). It was fine. Our group just wasn’t particularly thrilled.

I swear I am not giving up on Provision… Provision was once Deigo… not sure what happened to that place. I’ve been to this Provision 3 times and each time it gets progressively worse… just my opinion. First of all, I love craft cocktail bars… I absolutely LOVETHEM! I first went to Provision with a guy I met on Hinge(funny!). I believe we ordered the Metronome which comes in a coffee press during happy hour, so you can split between two. Our drink was pretty good, at that time I didn’t see anything appealing on the menu so I didn’t order food. A few weeks later, I returned to Provision with my good friend, he ordered us the frozen Moscow Mule. The drink was pretty good and STRONG, which I like. Upstairs in Provision, they play music and have a dance floor. This time the music was pretty good! I was surprised. So, I went back to Provision this weekend and I was NOT impressed. First of all, it was freezing cold on Friday and there was«a line» outside, which is completely stupid because when we went inside it wasn’t THAT packed. The guy at the door was nice and super friendly. I head upstairs and it smelled so horrible! I am not sure what that odd smell was, but the entire night it smelled funky. Almost like bleach & sweat… such an awful smell. Of course the drinks were crappy because the bar was packed. Also, the music wasn’t as great. We didn’t stay too long… that smell was awful and they should fix that. I probably won’t eat at Provision although they have good reviews on Unilocal.I am funny about places that double as restaurants and clubs(it’s just me). Oh yeah, there are a lot of «bros» in Provision… if that’s your crowd.

Seriously, my poor grandmother rolled over in her grave when I said that their Panettone French Toast(thick bread with a spiced crust, almonds all around, and chantilly cream) was better than hers. Sorry Nan :/ Our waitress was super nice(extra chantilly cream for my French toast) and the inside itself is tastefully decorated. Definitely going back.

This is the worst bar in DC. I was told by the bouncer on Saturday(1⁄30) night I would not be talked to or served because I was a woman which ended up being true. If you are a woman that respects yourself I would not come here. Coming here was the worst experience I have had in my entire 3 years of going out in DC.

Good food but no one can beat the quality of service! We had Greg as our server and he was hands on the best waiter we have ever had. He was extremely professional, attentive, made excellent recommendations, and was overall a wonderful person. Would definitely come back to try to the pata(dry aged pork legs) that feeds 5 – 6 people.

Sometimes I really wish there was a 3.5 star rating. I had made a reservation at Provision No. 14 weeks in advance after scouring Unilocal and their menu, my expectations were high. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday night, to find out I had actually made a reservation for 7:30OOPS! They were still super accommodating and were able to sit us in the bar area which was fine by me. The atmosphere was chill and inviting. It seemed like people were flocking in, clearly a place to be in DC. We had an awesome waitress, she even let us order our first cocktail on happy hour special(total win). We started with Blackberry Mule, pretty decent, not what I was expecting. My next drink I opted for the blood orange slush(x 2) SODELICIOUS. I honestly have never tasted a better cocktail in my life and I’m not a die hard fan of frozen drinks. The food: This is where I was severely disappointed. We started out with the Apple and Radish salad with crab. This dish honestly should be served with a pair of binoculars. The portion size was so damn small. The radish and apples were cut into slices… slices so thin that if you held them in front of both of your eyes, you would still be able to see your surroundings. It was tasty but for $ 12 I found it a little on the ridiculous side. The short ribs everyone seems to love, we ordered them. The sauce was decent, the rib itself I didn’t care for, it tasted more like corned beef to me then a short rib. The bread it was served with was some of the most delicious bread I have ever tasted. The star of the night was Rigatoni Alla Romano. The flavors together with the veal were A+. Croissant bread pudding for dessert was also on point. So honestly here is my ranking. I feel like this is much deserved because not everything was a 3. Ambience: 4 Service: 4 Drinks: 4 Food: 3. I would come back here but certainly only for drinks. My 3 rating is because food is honestly the most important thing to me in a restaurant. You could have the best service, drinks, and look but once the food falls flat you’re screwed. Cut your apples bigger provision!

This place… is damn good. Put me down for another provision or two. Really, If it didn’t take me 33 minutes to park, I’d probably visit more often. Granted that it was a Saturday night… but truly… I have never had so much trouble parking in DC. About 25 minutes in… I felt like I was on the ropes. I was like… am I gonna make it to this dinner? I really needed some overweight bald coach with an outdated mustache to squeeze water in my mouth with one of those oversized hamster bottles. I literally had to recenter myself. Phewf… take a deep breath… rotated and cracked my neck… you’ve parked before… you park everyday. It’s parking… you can do this. KERRI! YOUCANDOIT! At one point I even considered using another restaurant’s valet and slipping out the back of the restaurant… like a spy or something. Always slip through the kitchen, no one in the kitchen cares who you are. It literally took me the same amount of time to drive from Bethesda, as it did to park in that area of DC. SMH. Let’s first start off with the delicious cocktail… as I did… when I sat down. Grapefruit, basil, lime(I believe). It came in a french press so that the fruits and what not could infuse while it sat. #Clever #Clever The scallop in the risotto. Risotto was cooked perfectly. Still had a bite to it — far from mushy. The scallops were cooked perfectly(maybe could have used a fairy dusting of more sear. but thats getting nit-picky). Whatever was in that risotto complimented the scallop perfectly. And I loved the dash of soy? on the top. The Brussel sprouts were delicious, though — me thinks(does anyone still say that…) the serving a bit small. The golden pieces of apple were smart and worked well with the dish. Something I wouldn’t have thought to do. Though. it makes sense. Apples and things from the cabbage family tend to work well. The french fries were quite delicious. I LOVE how they are served with a little side of malt vinegar. This just brought a smile to my face. The pork belly was likely my favorite dish of the night. Man did you guys do a good job with this dish. The pork belly, extra crispy, the pears cut the fattiness well and whatever sauce was on that plate(something I have to admit– reminded me of ikea Swedish meatball gravy)… it just worked really well. It’s a stretch to sell me on a fruit next to my protein, but this dish totally sold me. The only dish I really didn’t get at all was the pita course with lentils, tomatoes, and braised cabbage. Some of the components which worked well separately… were just odd. I also thought it seemed clumsy and confusing. The portion of the three dips was ENORMOUS compared to the 3 pitas that were placed with the appetizer. I also wasn’t reading mediterranean fusion from anything else… and it just seemed very out of place. The final course we had was the chili braised short ribs with apple and kohlrabi salad and pandesal. First of all — those short ribs were braised with extra love. You could taste that. The bread was the shi*t. Shaped like a baguette but with the texture of… in between a biscuit and warm challah. The apple salad I thought was a little bit too… saucy. This dish I don’t get conceptually as a dish. We’re we supposed to put the meat on the bread with the salad… I tried that… it didn’t really work. I tried pretty much every combination together… and I came to the conclusion that I really liked each of the components separate. But that meat and bread… I mean… man. Ya need a cigarette after that B. I will be going back soon… in an Über.

There were 11 of us that came here for cocktails before dinner on a Friday night. We were dining around the corner. I immediately loved the warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor is rustic chic. Lighting was bright enough to see but not too bright. We sat by the window. It wasn’t busy which surprised me. But we were there early 6:30 ish. Our waitress was always available. Loved the service. I ordered the grapefruit cocktail which was delicious. I felt like I should order some bacon and eggs with it! But the delivery was what stole the show. The drink came in a French coffee press and with four glasses. She warned me ahead of time and I knew I could get three other takers. Everyone who tasted it liked it. The coffee press had hunks of cut grapefruit with skin on, mint and basil. As you pressed, the drink had more flavor. I’d like to come back here again.

Um. Yes please. I want to go here again. This place alone makes me want to move out to DC to try everything here, and make it my go-to place. I came here at 10pm on a Friday night with some friends for food and drinks and it was PACKED. I mean, like everyone inside were salmon, splashing and squishing, trying to navigate through a crowded, small space to get to their destination. And probably majority(like 80%) there were young professional men hitting on the small amount of women there. We had a reso at 10pm for a table to eat, and were seated maybe 10 minutes after we arrived/our designated time. In the meantime, my friends ordered some drinks at the super crowded bar after we got someone’s attention. WHATWEGOT: FOOD 1) Fluke: holy – I would get this 100x again. The fluke was amazingly soft and flaky, and the coconut miso sauce was creamy and slightly spicy from the chili… basically it was perfection with the fluke. Yas, girl. 2) Chili braised short ribs: yas, again. The meat was super tender, all my friends were in love with it. My other friend was a fan of the bread, which I have to admit was pretty good because it came out really warm and soft. Meat+bread+ apple salad/kohlrabi was on point. This is probably another dish I’d get again to share with a group of people. 3) Brussels: with fennel, apples, and bacon – not amazing, just your average brussel sprout-bacon dish, cooked well. I probably wouldn’t get this again and would try something else on the menu! DRINKS 1) Frozen Moscow mule: my favorite. Would get 10 of these if I could handle it(sadly…I’d probably stick to two :(). It was cool and refreshing, and I love moscow mules in general, so this was just right. I can’t speak to how strong it was… because I may have already had too much to drink… sorry for all of you who wanted to know the potency of the drink :/ 2) Blood orange seasonal slush: my friends got this frozen drink as well, and I’m not a huge fan of citrus in drinks except sour beers, so I didn’t like this one so much. Overall, service was really accomodating, atmosphere is loud as expected on a Friday night, and food is great! I would’ve loved to try all their drinks(like their presses and other signature drinks), but I’ll save that for another time!

Tried the grapefruit press and it was incredible. Mac and cheese was delicious, mushrooms were a nice touch. Lamb shoulder chops were cooked perfect, a little rare but not too chewy. And my vegetarian friend tried the apple radish salad and he loved it. I didn’t know what to expect with the hot pocket. It was 2 plain looking buns but ended up being delicious. Filled with lamb and some sort of yellow sauce that made the whole dish.

Pretty disappointed with P14, knowing it is a craft cocktail bar but their drinks to me, weren’t that good. I had the IPA cocktail, and it tasted bland. The drink tasted like an IPA with a splash of lemon juice. Being an IPA lover, I was surprised I didn’t like this drink. My gf ordered the Chronograph, the drink didn’t wow us. :( Now, the food is another story! The pork belly dish was delicious, the meat was tender and the sauce that came with it paired with it perfectly. The confit duck dish was too salty for my liking. Service was excellent. I really like the atmosphere as well, the restaurant has a nice layout. With so many great choices in DC, I probably won’t be back. Definitely worth a try though. Your experience might be better than mine.

I rarely give 5 star reviews – even more rarely on my first visit to a restaurant.(Crane and Turtle is the sole exception, until now.) But I just can’t think of anything at Provision No. 14 that would warrant subtracting a star. Let’s start with the pedigree of this building. Diego, the former occupant of this space did just about everything wrong, from décor, to food, to service, to the bizarre empty upstairs space where customers were left to freeze their butts off as they waited forever for someone to serve them. Provision No. 14, by contrast, seems to really want to correct each and every one of the previous occupant’s mistakes. Although the décor really isn’t my style – the washed columns and surfaces give the place a sort of Shabby Chic meets Daniel Boulud vibe – but at least it doesn’t scream, «edgy for edgy’s sake». Likewise, our waiter… a bit twitchy but otherwise very competent. And the food… oh the food! I think I’ve entered the brussel sprout phase of my life, and Provision didn’t disappoint with a side of the little cabbages that were served with a yummy glaze and squares of what I think were quince. Our pastas too… perfection. Both the the veal and the lamb were enjoyed the night we ate at the restaurant and then again for a do over later in the week. All in all, the best meal, and best meal at a new restaurant, that the Frogette and I have had in ages.

Had brunch at Provision as a group of 8. The space is large, kinda industrial I guess, but comfortable and spacious enough so you don’t hear other people’s convos. Huge plus. I was able to sample lots o’ goodness. I ordered the lobster omelet which had nice chunks of perfectly cooked lobster in it. The accompanying potatoes weren’t anything special, but they were good. I was very happy to try some of the pancakes which are HUGE because they’re meant for sharing. They have lots of large items here which are made for sharing — even pitchers of drinks which was interesting. Anyway, I expected the pancakes to be dry or too crispy because of their size. Nope! Amazingly, they were soft with the right amount of chewiness for me. They came with sautéed apples which were super tasty but on the skimpy side considering the size of the pancakes. More please! I tried some of the fried chicken which was flavorful and cooked nicely. The best? No. But it was tasty and seasoned. Speaking of tasty, I had the corned beef hash. First, my brunch mate didn’t like it as much because it seemed to have been overcooked. The staff remedied it right away and got him a nice juicy batch as soon as they could. Not gonna lie, even the corned beef that was«overly cooked» was really good to me. So, I think you should try brunch here with a few friends and sample away

Great space but it was VERY loud! We went on a Monday and the restaurant was only half full. My dining companion & I had to yell to barely hear one another. Having said that, the food was interesting and tasty. The house specialty, the Pata($ 65) is an amazing pork dish and I highly recommend it. However, be advised there is enough pork goodness for 4 – 5 people to share, see picture attached. We supplemented the Pata with the Kale Salad that was refreshing and the Hens in a Blanket, a wonderful starter. The wine list should be ignored & replaced with legitimate options. We were adventurous and tried the Malbec from Long Island, wow… seriously horrible. They offer specialty cocktails that are interesting, served in a french press and sharable. Croissant bread pudding was exceptional. In the end, the menu is limited and the wine list should be ignored. But for the dishes we selected, our experience rates a true 3.5.

Came here for their frozen moscow mule and their P14 burger after reading bout em and those were probably the best parts of our meal. The rest of the food was on the salty side, especially the braised short ribs that our table of four could not finish it. The rigatoni though was pretty delightful but wasn’t amazing. A table behind us ordered the pata though and that looked pretty amazing, if we were to ever come back it would be to try that suckling pig. The ambiance and set up of the restaurant is cool and their drinks are worth trying.

If you do 1 communal and 1 collection plate per person, you will still be more than stuffed. Three of us ordered: –Kale Salad: mandarinquat, strawberries, apples, cashews… refreshing summer salad with a citrusy dressing –Hot Pocket: sweet loaf, lamb sugo… savory and just the right amount of meat –Halibut: corn kernel risotto, English pea purée, summer vegetable ragu… we absolutely loved the side accoutrements, they just tasted so fresh and went well with the fish which was super tender and moist. –Chili Braised Short Ribs: apple salad, kohlrabi, pandesal… Couldn’t really taste the chili but the meat was very flavorful and went well with everything it was served with. We cut apart the large breadstick and essentially ate this as a slider — the pieces of meat were cut in perfect sizes to do so. We sat outside which provided for some good people viewing while catching up on life.

Fantastic spot to get together with a group and enjoy a good time. I definitely recommend coming with a group of 4 or more, it can be done with 2 but between the many options to try and the prices it’s better to come with the group to get the best bang for your buck and to be able to sample as many items as possible. The space is really open inside with two levels, I didn’t get a chance to visit the upstairs bar but the downstairs dining area provides a lot of open space and with the windows you can see across the room and also people watch outside, they also have an outdoor patio for use during the nicer times of the year. The menu offers a variety of interesting choices from smaller plates to massive dishes like the Pata, which is an braised pig leg. This was the biggest and tastiest item I was able to try and with four of us we still couldn’t finish it off. The hot pocket is another gem on the menu, with flaky soft dough and a delicious well seasoned and cooked lamb filling. Drinks are another thing they do well, I was able to try both a draft cocktail as well as their press drinks. The Mai-Tai was a excellent blend of alcohol and mixers where you get the kick of the booze without an overwhelming boozy after taste, perfect for sipping and even better for the novice drinking. Their Pisco Rambler in the french press also made for a well balanced and satisfying cocktail. All in all, definitely worth a visit but I encourage the more the merrier for optimal enjoyment.

My partner and I tried out Provision No. 14 with a friend and, overall, we were impressed with the tastiness of the dishes and the fun atmosphere here. The menu is pretty eclectic, with some tapas and some larger options as well. The alcohol program here was also something that was very comprehensive — a very good selection of beers, as well as an interesting cocktail selection. To start, we opted for the burrata with watermelon and the pheasant sausage. The burrata was milky and delicious, and the dish was a hit. The pheasant sausage was my favorite dish out of everything I ate here, with a new and interesting flavor combination that I haven’t had before. We also tried the spareribs, which came in a huge portion and was very tasty with the kohlrabi slaw on top. We ended with the halibut, which was perfectly cooked and came with delightful corn and sauce on the side. Overall, the food here was outstanding and I would definitely recommend a trip to Provision No. 14. The atmosphere is fun, and somewhat loud.

Signed. Sealed. Delivert. This has become my go-to spot to catch up with a friend over a few tasty bites or unwind with a cocktail. The vibe is a nice balance between fresh, hip and trendy while avoiding a forced nature to it all. The hot pockets are just as fantastic as everyone says. While normally this would not be a menu item for me to pivot over, Unilocal once again said«Shorty swing my way!»(Yes, just like it was 1998.) Seriously though, after experiencing them the first time I’m not sure I will ever come here and not order them, whether I’m hungry or not. Good thing is the order serves up two hot pockets(both together probably the size of a real Hot Pocket) so if you’re just up for a taste it’s pretty much a perfect few delicious bites. The dough is so fresh and soft and the lamb is tender and seasoned nicely. So good. I also tried the brussels sprouts(featuring apples with an appearance by bacon) at my last visit just to make my mom feel like she did something right. As always, mama knows best. These greens not only look great on your plate but will make your mouth seeeew heppy. This is also one of the few places I can order a frozen cocktail and still feel sophisticado. Although I’m not a gin drinker, the Seasonal Slush was more than fine by me. I couldn’t really taste the gin amidst the watermelon and basil, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there, alive and well. Trust me. These lil’ suckers will sneak up on you. While there is seating often available at the bar, do yourself a favor and make a reservation if you want to avoid a significant amount of time before being seated. However, if it’s a hot day and you’re offered the patio(with no wait) take it. It’s really much more manageable out there than it would seem!
