History

Established in 2011.

Salsa With Silvia was officially registered in 2011. The owner of the business, Silvia Stoyanova, has danced, choreographed, taught and performed dance her entire life. Silvia has dedicated majority of her time to teaching people how to dance and seeing a smile on their faces when they leave the classes.

Over the years, the studio has become number on on Google searches and has gained quite the popularity. The students have formed a community and often get together to go out and social dance.

The studio now has over 5 excellent Latin dance instructors with years of experience in teaching and performing.

In 2016, the Salsa With Silvia studio opened doors to its brand new location and became the largest Latin dance studio in the DC area. Our studio is brand new and beautiful, it features three large rooms for group lessons and one room for private lessons. The space opens up for large parties and social dances and it provides 2,600 sq ft of dance floor.

Meet the Business Owner

Silvia A.

Business Owner

Dancing became a passion for life when at the age of 6 Silvia’s mom took her to a folk dance class for the first time.

Quickly grasping the steps and becoming one of the best in the group, Silvia started traveling with the dance troupe. At the different showcases, she saw other dances and performances and one grabbed her attention as a much more elegant and dynamic style.

At 12 Silvia became a ballroom dancer and competed and taught both Latin and Standard International styles for 8 years.

While ballroom dancing provoked the competitive drive in her, Silvia got tired of all the rules and regulations of ballroom dancing.

Then she discovered salsa in a Washington, DC club where she was dazzled by the amazing moves and passion that the dancers were showing off with.

Since then Silvia has performed and taught Nationwide. She currently owns a small dance studio in Columbia Heights, DC where she and her instructors teach salsa, bachata, and merengue.

Dance is Silvia’s life.
