I cannot stress how perfect Shake Shack’s burgers are. Their milkshakes are different than most and tasty. Despite how amazing their food is, this specific location had some downside. They do not have a great deal of seating like other shake shacks and their customer service wasn’t quite where I’d like to see it either. I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake. My bill was over $ 18. The food was quite a treat, but for almost $ 20 I can get a nice steak dinner elsewhere.

Fast service, quality fast food. Shake Shack came highly rated to me and I had high expectations. My mind wasn’t blown, but no regrets! The good: –The Shack cheeseburger was solid, especially the fluffy potato bun. It was served piping hot and tasted fresh. –Solid custard-based vanilla shake –Flavor of the week custard + shakes The«meh»: — Crinkle fries were underwhelming. They were served not as hot and fresh as I would have liked, and a fairly small portion for $ 3. — Price point: $ 15 for a single Shack burger, small serving of fries + vanilla shake

I walked here on my lunch break, in the blistering cold, craving a juicy delicious burger. I order a double roadside burger and cheese fries(I had the greedies) I walk aaaalllll the way back to my office and devour my cheese fries, then I unwrap my burger and take two huge bites only to discover my burger had no bacon and was so raw it was still mooing! I walk aaaaalllllll the way back to Shake Shack and ask for the manager and showed this young lady the bloody cow I have been served. While she did refund my money for the meal, I don’t like the look of reprimand when the cashier asked if maybe they should offer me a certificate for a complimentary milkshake. Hindsight, I should have taken a picture of the disgustingly raw burger I was served. Needless to saw I was hungry for the rest of the day since that incident consumed my lunch break.

I really appreciated the shake shack fast food! The place is really cool, the staff is really nice with the customers. I really appreciated the burger. I just put 4 stars because for a burger it was quite expensive.

Bottom Line: Good food but way too small for the amount of customers it serves. At last I finally got to try Shake Shack! I dropped in here for a late lunch over the holidays and was not disappointed by the tasty burger, crinkle fries and never ending diet Coke. What I like about the burger was the juicy patty, melty cheese, fresh produce and butter soft bun. As for the fries, I usually find crinkle fries to be tasteless and mushy but these were good. What I didn’t like about Shake Shack was how loud it was at the counter where you order and the fact that there were way too few seats during the 2pm non-rush lunch hour. To order, forget politely conversing, shouting is a must in order to be heard. As far as getting a table, be prepared to stalk those finishing their meals or take it to go.

But it’s always. So. Packed. Yeah, OK, it’s not their fault that they’re in tourist central, and the fact that they always have customers is a good sign. And yet. You will rarely find me waiting in line here unless I have a coupon. Why? Well, lots of points(millions of stars) for their french fries. They’re oddly delicious, especially for crinkle-cut fries. And many, many points for their custard and concretes. It’s basically impossible to find good custard these days, and Shake Shack more than delivers. Their flavor combinations are to die for – pumpkin pie for the holidays? Yum. But, see, I’m a vegetarian.(«Well, ya big jerk,» you might be thinking, «Why are you reviewing a burger joint?» Because there is an art to veggie burgers, and by golly, we’re people too.) And Shake Shack’s one and only veggie option is a deep-fried mushroom stuffed with cheese on a smallish bun. It’s delicious, it’s fresh, it’s super bad for you, but it’s TINY. For $ 7, I would like a sandwich that doesn’t leave me hungry. And if I did get a meal that actually filled me up(fries, a sandwich, a custard) it would be too expensive for me to afford on a regular basis. So that’s why I’m settling on 3 stars. I hear the burgers are great.

YUMYUMYUM! Love this place! The only horrific downside is the seating. It is awful! It can get super busy so people are crowded around, hovering over tables that look like they’re almost done eating, hoping to snag your table. It’s a bit much. That being said, the burgers are AMAZING! And the fries are so good too! I recently had a peppermint chocolate milkshake(holiday special) and it was quite tasty. The sauce on the burgers is so good! Yum. I cannot say enough good things. Just try to go when it’s not peak busy times.

Really busy and popular lunch spot! Super packed! Taste: Gooood! Vegetarian cheese mushroom burger, fries with melting cheese, and organic unsweetened tea were tasty! Price: Not cheap for this small portions. My lunch was $ 15. Customer service: Good besides one lady who made a little bit mess our group order. Wanted to get one bill but she made two… Parking lot: Not free besides Sun. Private ones $ 5/hour. FYI: They have beer and wine. So tempting!

So this is actually the first time I’ve ever been to shake shack since I’m from the west coast so I had to come and try. My first impression: they sell dog biscuits here?! They was definitely surprising. Also, this shake shack is at a convenient location, especially next to the spy museum and close by the gallery place(Chinatown) metro station. The service was decent as well. When it was a busy time, they had someone walk around and ask if people were happy with they meal and picked up any trays that weren’t being used. Now with food: I ordered the shack burger, smoke shack, gingerbread milkshake(seasonal flavor), crinkle cut fries, and their root beer. The burgers were ok. The patties were moist and salted so that was nice. The problem was that they lack a healthy dose of veggies like onions or lettuce to add a crispness to the burger. Also the smoke shack was way too salty. I did enjoy the milk shake however, because it was very smooth. It’s not as dense as some other milk shakes I’ve tried from chain stores. The root beer and the fries were nothing special but noting to complain about either. All together I don’t think the burgers are worth the expensive $ 5+ but I’ll come by because of convenience.

1 point for the East Coasters! Your Shake Shack can stand up to my In n Out any day. Loved my flavorful burger and fries. In fact, your fries are far superior to my west coast ones. The chocolate shake wasn’t bad either and overall my large group left feeling satisfied and full enough to walk all up and down the National Mall.

I’m a first timer and really had heard little about the chain. After touring the International Spy Museum which is in the same building my daughter and I were starved. Outside of the restaurant was clean and had awesome signage. Since we were eating after 2PM there were no lines. There is a huge menu board that has everything thing you need to know. I told the woman that we were first timers so go gentle as we figure out what we wanted. Before you know it there were shouts of WELCOMEDAVID! That was unexpected and cool. We decided on the shack burgers but was undecided on the shakes. The clerk waiting on us was terrific and got us samples to help decided. My daughter went nuts over the Christmas Cookie and I got the Black & White. We were given a buzzer for our order. There is a napkin, straws and ketchup stand. All clean-up is self bus. Our orders were up within 10 minutes, hot and delicious. I have to admit that my daughter got the best shake. My, my it was good and the woman who helped u gave extra Christmas sprinkles which are to die for. The fries are crinkle and were also super yum. We ended up loving our meals, but could not finish them, there is a lot of food. We could have split and landed just right. Upon looking around the dining room that had some customers, but not packed I did see debris on the floor. Not a lot, but enough to wonder why there was no one cleaning and tending to it since there were not customers in line. The trash was also beginning to over flow, not good at all. The food was super strong, especially the shakes. The service was well beyond what I would have expected. The cleanliness was below par. I’m at a 3.5 and rounding up. I would love to come back.

I want to marry you shake shake and have chocolate and vanilla mixed babies! Ok maybe an open relationship. I can cheat on you with 5 guys without repercussions. You make a tasty burger and the shakes are plentiful. So many flavored. So little time. I prefer five guy frys but the crinkle cut is a nice touch. My only complaint is I’m usually so full after the meal I can’t enjoy my concrete without thinking of how many calories I just inhaled.

This place is on point!!! Large menu, but easy to choose from. Went with a large group and ordered shakes, root beer floats, hot dogs, hamburgers, and cheese fries. Everything was really good. They even had doggie treats on the menu for your four-legged friends. It was a lil tough finding seating for my large group. But we moved some tables around and made it work. Overall, I like this place and I’d come back in the future.

Wow! This location is very close to a metro stop so getting there is very easy. There is a decent amount of seating outside which is awesome in a nice day. There is a bit of seating on the inside as well. I went during lunch and it was pretty busy. I had walk the place twice to find seating. But I did and it was before the food was ready so that was ok. The ordering process is interesting. There is 2 lines, one for drinks and ice cream and that stuff and another of burger, hot dogs, fries ect. So it was a busy lunch time when I visited and despite there being a decent line it moved quickly. I ordered a single Shakeshack burger which is 1 patty, cheese, lettuce and tomato and Shakeshack sauce. I did no lettuce or tomato and added pickles no problem. I also got cheese fries and a 50⁄50 which is just an Arnold Palmer. I gave my name and they gave me a restaurant pager to wait for my food. Found a seat and waited. Food came quickly. The burger was AHMAZING! It was a bit of thiner patty but it was well cooked. It was hot and juicy and the cheese was melted on perfectly. I feel like a lot of places over cook their burgers but here was perfect. The bun I think was home made. It was soft; slightly sweet and the perfect size for the burger. No idea what is in the Shakeshack sauce but it had a mayo consistency and light orange color. It was good. The cheese fries also great. It was a milder cheese and reminded me of the consistency of «whiz» on a real philly cheese steak. My Arnold Palmer was a bit too sweet for me but I also am not really a sweet person. After I ate I went back to get a refill on my drink. The guy at the counter greeted me by name and quickly facilitated me getting my refill. An over all great first encounter. Good food, fast and friendly service. I will return!

Awesome lunch moment! This place made my day. Juicy burgers… seasoned, and cooked to perfection! And most of all… CRINKLEFRIES! I love them things. What more to ask for?! Located in the touristy section of downtown DC, this Shake Shack is the real deal and consistent to the original New York City hamburger stand in Madison Square Park and the Dupont Circle location that I have been to. Just be aware that the seating is limited and it can get very crowded at this location due to the volume of business commuters in that area and the tourist crowd visiting all the monuments. I ordered the Smoke Shack burger and it did not disappoint. This burger stars everything a man could ask for on a sandwich… A cheeseburger topped with apple-wood smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, Shack Sauce, gooey cheese and LTP! All I can say is Heaven! The hamburger was seasoned well and cooked fully. However, keep in mind that they normally cook your burger medium, so if you like yours cooked more, you’ll have to request it. Of course, a no brainer, to compliment the burger you must get the ”Crinkled Fries.” I love them things! Everything was all good… the burger tasted so fresh and juicy… like a backyard barbecue & so unlike the pressed grease squares served up at Wendy’s, flat-bland patties McDonald’s or elsewhere. And, the Crinkled fries… OMG…crispy, crunchy, salty potato-y goodness! Didn’t try the shakes this time around, but I can tell you both the Black & White Malt and Strawberry Shake is the bizzzness! My only gripe is that I wish their burgers were thicker. It is a little too thin to satisfy any of my personal burger fantasies per se, but that does not go to say it is not filling because I am heading back to work all smiles and completely satiated! Interesting Fact: Shake Shack burgers are an umami-rich(savory) mix of brisket, chuck, skirt steak, and short rib blended in each burger. No mystery meats. That says a lot about the butcher standards and quality of meats blended to create such a tasty burger patty. No complaints there. You can sign me up any ol’ day… I’m all about that blend! In all, 4 ½ stars! Shake Shack is a great stop if you are craving a reasonable burger place in DC. Friendly staff and great food. The hamburgers are freshly made in-house and just the right size, not tiny but not huge either. This place is a beehive at lunch… but they are fast and orders are fulfilled quickly. So stick around… you will be glad you did.

I LOVETHESHAKESHACK. And this location in particular. It is located is a main part of DC which is super convenient. I came here multiple times during my stay in DC. I love that it is open until 11… because it was perfect for a late night ice cream treat! I got a custom concrete ice cream one night that was just so delicious. I loved it. The next I got a mix of chocolate and vanilla custard. Very good as well! Super rich and creamy. ANDTHELASTNIGHT… the manager(I think that was who he was) gave me a big thing of ice cream to take home with me! He was so darn friendly and really cared about me having a good experience… and ITWORKED. I seriously just loved this place. The restaurant itself was super nice. I liked the set up. There was indoor and outdoor seating. Places to plug things in. The food at Shake Shack is great too. Overall I honestly just can’t say anything bad. I have never been treated so well by a restaurant and it made it a great experience. I definitely recommend for a reasonably priced treat or meal while in DC!

The food was simply delish, and the price wasn’t too shabby either for something in the DC area. I loved the crinkle fries since it was super crispy. I simply dislike fries that are too soggy or have too much potato. Essentially I like ones that are thin and crispy, and these were def crispy but not so much thin. The single smokeshake burger(?) was the perfect portion size for a snack for my friend and me as we were being tourists and walked all around DC. The portion size was perfect for someone with a small appetite too. It wasn’t oily and the meat was tender and juicy. There were an abundant number of seats available, but you had to wait around for a place to open up since this place was super busy. There were outdoor seats, but it was too hot so those were available for grabs.

This place definitely gets good brownie points because they have a vegetarian option. You have no idea how hard it is to get a good burger when you don’t eat meat. I’m from LA and there is no shake shack in the area. The only thing close to shake shack is in n out but they don’t have any vegetarian options except for grilled cheese –_– Their shroom burger is absolutely amazing. The bread is so soft, the mushroom is crispy and filled with cheese. Right when I bit into the burger, the hot melted cheese just gushed out and it actually burned my mouth because I didn’t think it was going to be that hot. But it was so worth it. Their cheese fries are also delicious. I love how nicely melted their cheese is; it’s so smooth, no lumps, and when it gets cold, it doesn’t clump up, it still stays smooth. I’m not a fan of the size of their fries, because I normally like skinny fries like in n outs, but in n out doesn’t make good cheese fries :( I would have given this place 5 stars because their food is fantastic but their service is MEHHHHH! All the workers talk to each other while on the job, they don’t pay attention to the customers, they just talk and laugh amongst themselves. My boyfriend went up to the workers to ask them for something, but she just looked at him and just stared at him. Uhh awkward lol. I don’t know, not a fan of the people that work there.

Aww snap Shake Shack, your burgers are great but your fries don’t equate. Come here for the burger, skip the fries… Burgers– I’ve tried their regular shack burger(with cheese of course!) and shack stack burger and WOW… taste buds were tantalized. Burger was juicy, cheesy, tasty goodness! It had great presentation with the right amount of color(green, red, yellow). I give their burgers extra style points for having part of the bun still attached on one side, so when you go Godzilla on your burger none of the filling will slide out. The shack stack burger is a must try if you’re a cheese lover… like me. When you bite into the cheese filled ‘shroom patty, cheese will come pouring out like lava! Kinda like the cousin of the juicy lucy I’d say. So Delishness! Fries– Pretty basic crinkle cuts. Kinda reminiscent of cafeteria fries. They were crispy, crunchy and salty, but there just wasn’t anything special about them. They could’ve been store bought fries. I had them with and without the cheese. The cheese sauce they used was straight up BLEH! GAG almost! It’s as if they took fake cheese from the can and melted it on top. I paid extra for them and I couldn’t even finish. My friends couldn’t even finish them! Can you believe that?! I wasted fries. I was disappointed! My friends were disappointed too! Sad. Peach lemonada(special drink of the week)-Was inconsistent. First day I was there, the drink was on point, sweet and tangy with little peach bits inside. Second day, drink was sour and wasn’t good at all. So it was a hit-or-miss.I guess it depended on who made it that night… For the price I paid for 1 meal at SS, I could buy 2 meals from IN-N-OUT. So yeah, SS is more of an upscale Burger joint, whereas IN-N-OUT is more affordable burger place for shores. Aside from the taste, the location is okay, easy to spot, but parking will be a BIT CHallenging. I think we circled around this place more than 10 times until we found a spot 3 blocks down. There wasn’t a line both times I went(after 9pm on a Weekend). Restaurant is kinda small and there is limited seating. So don’t come rolling 10 deep in this place. IMO, shake shacks burgers are a bit better than IN-N-OUT, but IN-N-OUT fries are better. Maybe somebody should take SS burgers, INO fries and open up a shop in the Midwest called Shake Out. I’d definitely go there, lol.
