Specialties
Engaging and enlightening DC audiences to new, developing artists; Sparking cross-disciplinary dialogue between artists and propelling them to the next level in their career.
History
Established in 2006.
Source is a project of the Cultural Development Corporation (CuDC). CuDC works to develop self-sufficient, affordable spaces for the city’s artists and cultural organizations.
Facing the threat of losing the theatre to commercial retailers along the revitalized 14th Street Arts Corridor, CuDC purchased the historic theatre and reopened its doors to the community and performing arts groups in 2008 with rave reviews.
Source is now a veritable epicenter of talented artists and performing arts groups bringing a unique opportunity to see a wide array of new and exciting performances in DC.
