Great location, great and timely service, great and fun staff, street parking and commercial parking within the building — all you need is to catch the elevator up! High-​tech office and equipment but not overwhelmingly so. I wished I’d found this office sooner!

Time for my annual eye check up and everything related to it was easy and done in excellent manner. Could make appointment online and was verified quickly. Was seen by doctor and staff at time of appointment and the vision tests were done quickly, no waiting around for the doctor. Even though there is a new contact lens which can be tried for my eye disease, Dr. Glasser did not think it warranted the expense of getting a new pair as there was no guarantee of a benefit and since my current contact prescription would not be changed. can’t remember the last time a doctor actually gave my expense any consideration.
I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Glasser and his staff are top notch. I was told when I made my appointment to be sure I was on time because Dr. Glasser is a stickler for keeping to his appointment times. This was not an exaggeration. Dr. Glasser quickly assessed the problem with my current prescription, work environment and home lighting and not only did a thorough eye exam but provided me with a list of changes to make to help my eyes including documentation on computer ergonomics that I could share with the rest of my office.

I made an appointment here primarily due to Unilocal reviews as well as a recommendation from a colleague. I was very impressed with the promptness and thoroughness of Dr. Glasser’s office as well as his friendliness and that of his staff, which I greatly appreciate. I will be returning to see him and would highly recommend him to anyone in the DC area looking for an eye doctor.

Dr. Glasser and his staff are the best in the city. I have been going to his office for the past 4 years and have received the excellent service every time. He is a hard act to follow (because he is so good). Everyone in the office makes you feel right at home that they take the time with you to make sure that you get what you need. I am really glad to be a patient in this office and I have recommended him to several people and will again. If you need glasses or contacts, this is the place that you want to go to!

I recently went to Dr. Glasser as a new patient. I was very pleased with the overall experience. Dr. Glasser was very energetic and lighthearted. He was also very attentive of patients in the optician and waiting areas. He seems to be very engaged with his practice. I thought I was going to need progressive lenses for the first time but Dr. Glasser figured out that I just needed an addition to my normal lens on one side. I found out later that the addition is not something that most optometrists regularly check for. The other bonus is that the addition didn’t cost extra where as progressive lenses definitely would. I opted not to buy new glasses immediately after the appointment so that I could look at the selections at other optician offices/​stores. I took a look at several stores in Georgetown but ended up returning to Dr. Glasser’s office to buy new frames. The optician was very helpful and she managed to pick enough frames that made the cut that the decision became pleasantly difficult. I didn’t feel as though I was settling for the one good frame but rather choosing the best of a handful of good frames. I will definitely be a return customer and I will recommend Dr. Glasser and his staff to anyone who asks for a recommendation.
A 4-​star rating for me means that all of my expectations for customer service were met without complaint. I give a 5-​star rating when the business goes above and beyond my expectations without request.

I got my glasses from here a few months ago. While the initial exam was fine, my experience today earns Dr. Glasser 1 star, because you can’t give zero stars.
I went in because my glasses frames were badly bent. I gave them to the receptionist. Dr. Glasser returned with them straightened out and asked me what happened.
Me: They slipped off my nightstand and I stepped on them.
Him: You mean you knocked them off your nightstand. (No smile, no eye twinkle, no kidding)
Me: — — — — — ?
I was so amazed he would try to blame an accident on me I said nothing. However, Dr. Glasser, the glasses were on a pile on books. As I walked toward the bed, they slid to the floor and I could not avoid stepping on them, both happened in a flash,.
Keep your paternalistic attitude to yourself. I won’t be back.

Dr. Glasser is outstanding! My eyes have been quite fickle over the years. For a couple of years, my left eye wouldn’t change and my right would fluctuate. Recently, with the heavy burden of a law student, my left eye has been playing catch-​up. Unfortunately, the many optometrists I’ve visited over the years have never done a satisfactory job to combat this situation. My eyes would feel so dry and tired after wearing my contacts for just 8 hours.
I went to Dr. Glasser’s office because of the wonderful reviews and the coincidence that he shares a last name with one of my best friends. I couldn’t be happier about the result. My vision with my new prescription is crystal clear when I am wearing my glasses and my contact-​wear is less strenuous.
My glasses came in a week after I placed the order. Although I had to go into the office to pick up my glasses, my contacts were delivered to my house in less than a week! I highly recommend Dr. Glasser if you are in the market for a wonderful optometrist.

Routine exam for contacts and glasses, Dr. Glasser and the office staff were all so friendly. Keisha helped me pick out my new glasses, letting me know how much my insurance covered for each frame I picked up. Will definitely be returning.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Glasser recently and was very impressed. The staff in his office were all friendly and professional. Dr. Glasser himself was kind and efficient (without feeling rushed). It is great that they care about more than just updating prescriptions; Dr. Glasser took time to speak with me about eye strain, my desk configuration, working with screens, etc. They take my insurance (VSP) and the billing was seamless (no having to spend time calling the company or anything). Also, I like that they have their new patient paperwork online; I was able to do it before heading in for my appointment, which saved time and allowed me to look up all the relevant info from home (rather than finding myself without the info I needed in the office waiting room).

This was my first visit to Dr. Glasser, after bouncing around from one optometrist to another for the past few years. His staff is very friendly and efficient, and I was taken back to see the doctor at my appointed time with no waiting. Dr. Glasser was very thorough in his exam, and he listened to my concerns about the discomfort I was experiencing with the contacts I was wearing. He selected a new brand for me that are incredibly comfortable. He also has a great selection of eyeglass frames, and I look forward to getting new glasses from him as well. Dr. Glasser is a keeper, and if you are looking for an optometrist, you should definitely give him a chance.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Glasser one week ago and could not have been happier. Dr. Glasser was efficient, personable, and funny, notwithstanding the attorney jokes. He clearly and concisely explained every aspect of the examination and my prescription. Dr. Glasser also took the time to provide thorough answers to all of my questions. His staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
I was also very impressed with the fact that my appointment started right on time and was completed within one hour.
I highly recommend Dr. Glasser (and have already recommended him to multiple friends) and will definitely see him for all of my eyecare needs in the future.

My favorite physician. Always returns calls same day. Outgoing and knowledgeable. Arranged to see my daughter (not yet a patient) same day when she had a foreign object in her eye. With a near-​blind parent (macular degeneration) I’m careful to see him and discuss eye health. Wouldn’t see anyone else.

Dr. Glasser has been my Optometrist for almost 10 years. He and his staff are very professional and friendly. They have always walked me through each exam and take their time. They also take the time to make sure all adjustments are made with my insurance company before I remit payment. If there are problems with glasses or contact order, they contact me to go over issue and resolve it.

I received a routine eye exam (with the addition of an optional Optomap retinal scan evaluation at an added price) and contact lens fitting from Dr. Glasser, an in-​network VSP Advantage Plan provider. He and Keisha, throughout the whole process, explained to me each step of the evaluation process very clearly and concisely.
In addition to regular eye tests, by specialty of Dr. Glasser, he also conducted a couple extra tests to check whether or not I had eye strain and even asked me about how I work with my laptop, presumably to evaluate the ergonomics of my working condition. I learned a lot of neat little facts about the eye. I even learned (as he checked the shape of my eye) that I have a sort of astigmatism where the warping cancels out, eliminating the possibility of using hard contact lenses. Unfortunate, but cool!
I visited initially with the intention to see whether or not I’m an Ortho-​K or CRT (corneal refractive therapy) (those overnight contact lenses that correct your vision for the following day) candidate at the recommendation of Dr. Weiss (a reputable optometrist whose office is in Rosslyn). But my myopia was a bit too bad to be a candidate (–5 diopters).
I have VSP Advantage Plan and paid $ 180 for the eye exam, retinal scan, and contact lenses fitting, which sent me home with 5 pairs of dailies and solution, and that apparently covers the follow-​up appointments too. Not bad at all! It was easy to make an appointment, the receptionists and assistants were helpful, and they even gave me a case to take my glasses home in.
All in all, it was a satisfying experience. Thank you, Dr. Glasser and team!

I had an appointment with Dr. Glasser last week for a contact lens exam. It was a great appointment; very quick and I only had to wait a few minutes. I was a new patient and they were able to fit me in with no problems.
As I said, the appointment was great. However, ordering contact lenses was not an easy process. I was told my contacts would be shipped to my office in 3 – 5 business days. My contact lenses were shipped to Dr. Glasser’s office and it took 9 days (8 business days) for my contacts to arrive. I was running low on lenses before I ordered them and asked the Dr. to provide trial lenses to hold me over (I wear Dailies), but he only gave me enough for five days.
This was really inconvenient. I definitely recommend Dr. Glasser, but try ordering your contact lenses off of

It was truly a pleasure meeting Dr. Glasser and his staff. All were extremely personable and professional… not to mention, they start on TIME! Dr. Glasser was very thorough with my eye exam and informed me of a condition that I have that was NEVER mentioned by other eye professionals in the past.
I would highly recommend him and his office for all of your eye care needs! I will be back and referring a few future clients to him as well!

Dr. Glasser takes the time to explain things to you, why he’s doing what he is doing. He does a thorough exam for eye health as well as just the routine getting new glasses part. He is personable and kind.
The staff are helpful and do not just say every pair of glasses looks good on you. It is easy to get an appointment.
The office sends helpful newsletters with new treatments and interesting articles about eye health.

My entire family goes to Dr Glasser. The staff is terrific. The location is very central at 17 between L and K Streets. Right next to both Red Line and Orange/​Blue/​Silver Lines. We have found their 1^st Saturday of the Month appointments to be convenient too.
I’ve been seeing Dr Glasser for almost a decade and always had excellent service!

I’d like to start this off by saying that I have severe anxiety when it comes to eye exams. I made my appointment with Dr. Glasser solely based on Unilocal reviews. Lucky for me, he’s located just a few blocks from my office, and very convenient to the red line, which is on my way home.
The receptionist was very helpful in making my appointment. She sent over my paperwork via E-​Mail, and gave me instructions on how/​when to fill it out, what to bring to my appointment, and advised me to be on time, because the doctor was always on time. I received a confirmation E-​Mail the day before my appointment. I really appreciate the use of electronic communication!
I left for my appointment early, and I arrived about 15 minutes ahead of time. The staff was incredibly nice (especially dealing with all of my anxiety issues!). I’m pretty sure that my appointment either started right on time, or even before — because I didn’t wait very long!
One of the nurses/​assistants took me to my exam room and began the checkup. It was pretty standard, and she was very nice, which made me feel a lot better. I’m sure she could tell that I was nervous, so I really appreciate the small talk. The doctor came in almost instantly when she was done, and proceeded with the exam. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and made tons of jokes, which of course I appreciated! He dealt with me not liking things in or near my eyes with as much grace as humanly possible! He even had a special trick for getting the drops in my eyes. I was amazed! After discussing the changes in my vision, he led me back out where the same nurse/​assistant helped me order my contacts. I ordered a year’s supply, and (doing quick math in my head) it seemed like a better deal than ordering online. Shipping was free to either the office or my own apartment, so I opted for the latter. The entire visit cost me $ 475 — that was for a routine exam, contact lens fitting exam, and a year’s supply of contacts. I found that the cost of the visit itself was in line with what I normally pay.
I sat back in the waiting room while my eyes dilated, and was given my detailed receipt and a «fun facts» sheet about eye dilation. When I was ready, I went back into the exam room, and finished up the exam with the doctor.
All in all, Dr. Glasser made a not so pleasant experience pretty quick and painless for me. I have no qualms about returning, and I recommend him or his staff enough.
