While visiting DC for work, I found this convenient soup, sandwich, and salad spot. Give the craziness of the lunch hour in DC, I was immediately struck at the efficiency of this place and space to sit and eat. I got the Meatball Hero sandwich and was simply blown away! It was the best meatball sub I’ve ever had! And I’m still in shock, that adding a can of pop and chips was only an extra $ 1. Overall, a huge win in DC– while I’m not in the city that often, when I am, I’ll certainly be frequenting here again!

I may give these guys another try after I’ve given myself time to forgive them for giving me a soggy sandwich. I got the pastrami sandwich with eggs and onions. The meat quality was just ok. The bread was awful– low quality, no flavor, too thin and insubstantial. Maybe the salads would be ok here. Or maybe if you ask them to toast the bread well before they construct the sandwich. There are so many better delis in this area, like CF Folk or Loebs right next door– I don’t know why people say this place is so great. It’s a step above corner bakery.

For $ 9 you can get a decently sized sandwich, a bag of chips, and a canned soda. I ordered the carved turkey sandwich and loved it. Everything was fresh and the staff was very pleasant. For downtown I think this is a pretty good deal for lunch. Would definitely recommend!

My hubby was so crazy about their bulgogi sandwich that he actually drive here to get it(he works in Alexandria). They have great selection of sandwiches n panninis. I got the reuben with cheese n mushroom, it was also yummy! Im only giving three stars because I am not a sandwich person. For $ 1 more you get chips and drinks. Decent price too.

I really enjoy their croissant breakfast sandwich and spicy chicken and arugula. The location is also great for long walks after you feel satiated from the delicious sandwiches they offer. Definitely one of my favorite sandwich places to go during lunch break

I’d be willing to call it «The Best Breakfast Sandwich Place In DC,» and that’s a lot coming from a Jersey girl! ;) I love to get my fried egg and cheese on a croissant or bagel here in the morning before work. They make it really nicely and it’s such a treat. Make sure you ask for a fried egg, vs just«egg,» and they’ll fry you up a real one. I’ve also really enjoyed their salad bar, both in salad form and wrap form. I haven’t been a big fan of their vegetarian lunch sandwiches, but I generally don’t think eggplant belong on a sandwich, nor do I like«roasted vegetable» sandwiches. So that doesn’t surprise me or bother me that much. The staff are all excellent and I love starting my mornings here though.

Thumbs up for the Spicy chicken and arugula! Very fulfilling sandwiches for under $ 10

This is probably the worst sandwich I ever had. I went in way past the lunch rush and it took forever to get someone’s attention. Once I ordered a grilled cheese, they upcharged me from the listed price of around $ 5 to $ 8. So I got a $ 8 grilled cheese, they forgot to put tomatoes on it like I’d asked, and the bread barely got toasted. It was pretty gross and I’m really disappointed. I won’t be going back.

My first time going here but I will definitely be back! I had the fish taco salad and all of the ingredients really worked well together. There were more pieces of fish in my salad than I expected and the portion was generous. They have many options to choose from, both sandwiches and salads.

I almost never post reviews, but the breaded chicken sandwich I had in this place was so good that I feel the social responsibility to communicate it. I would highlight two main things: 1) the service was excellent, from the cook to the cashier to everyone else. I had some questions and some requests and minor changes to the sandwich and they really wanted to make sure that I was happy with it. It was a pleasure to eat there. 2) the ingredients are fresh and very, very tasty, from the chicken to the avocado, from the grilled bacon to the chipotle aioli. everything was 5 stars.

I am a reuben lover, and this place knows how to do a good job of it, but one item could have been better: KEEPTHEPICKLEOUT. They wrap a soggy pickle with EVERY sandwich. I love pickles, but it soaked through my toasted reuben and wrecked half my sandwich.

Really like this place compared to the other sandwich shops in the area. The bacon pastrami sub is off the charts. I usually always get here before closing and the staff always hook me up.

You’ve got major balls to call yourself The Best Sandwich Place, and you’d better be able to deliver. Thankfully they can. For $ 10.99 including tax, I got a huge breaded chicken sandwich, a bag of chips, and a can of soda. They even threw in a bag instead of charging me 5 cents. The sandwich was delicious. Grilled sourdough bread, breaded chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and jalapeño sauce. Very flavorful, and moist without being soggy. The breaded chicken had a nice crisp to it. They had about a dozen sandwiches listed as specials, and they also sell salads and soups. They were very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked up to the counter. I had my sandwich(which had to be grilled) and was out the door within 5 minutes. I wish they were open later than 4PM on weekdays, because they would be a great place to stop when I am working late. My only complaint is that they wrap the deli pickle with the sandwich. I’d rather it be wrapped separate to keep the pickle juice out of my sandwich. But since that’s my biggest complaint, suffice it to say I can’t wait to go back and try something else.

I’ve been there at least 10 times, maybe more, and it never disappoints. Every time I go I am impressed by the consistency and quality of the food. My go to is the Korean steak, but every menu item I’ve tried has been delicious. Any sandwich with chicken on it is an easy winner, too. It’s clear that they put a lot of thought into the flavors of each sandwich, with great balances of flavor and textures. The Place is clean, staff are polite and friendly. This is easily the best lunch spot in the Farragut square area. Ordering can be a little confusing, so be prepared for that, and take your time. To take stars off over the layout of the counter seems ridiculous to me, especially when the food is excellent. Id also point out that one of the one-star reviewers didn’t even eat there.

With so many sandwich options around here, this place was convenient and tasty, but nothing exciting.

This place looks like another generic, grab-and-go, forgettable DC sandwich joint on the outside. Which is a shame, because the product is WAY better than you might assume from looking at it. Think of Jettie’s sandwiches at Potbelly prices. $ 10 for a creative and over-stuffed sandwich(they will never leave you unsatisfied) plus chips and drink. The Cuban melt is completely outrageous. The Caribbean roast pork is a close second, along with the bacon pastrami sub. This isn’t just your typical«old, frozen, thawed turkey and ham sandwich on wonderbread» type of place. They have some really funky sandwiches that all taste fantastic. They’re fairly new and all of the complaints I’ve read have to do with them being slow and disorganized. Give them time! It’s a local place with a superior product and price compared with its nearby chain competitors. Absolutely worth an extra 90 seconds of your day to deal with the fact that they’re still trying to streamline their day-to-day process.

Popped in on whim as I was walking through the area while visiting the area for work. Got the sliced turkey sandwich special(cranberry sauce, cucumbers, carrots, a pile of freshly sliced turkey, and Dijon mustard) — oh my Lord was it DELICIOUS!!! Value was also amazing — sandwich chips and a can of soda for less than $ 10. Can’t go wrong! Outside of my meal, they have a wide array of fresh sandwiches and salads. Seating was comfortable, was able to find a corner with an outlet to charge my phone — YAY! If you are looking for a casual lunch that is not fried and greasy — this is the place to go.

Since this sandwich shop is actually downstairs from my office, I had really high hopes for it. But, after my first visit, I have concluded that it’s worth walking a few extra steps to one of the other, more established, sandwich places in the Farragut Square area until they get their act together here. The problem isn’t with the sandwich itself, per se. I got a cheese sandwich with everything except for peppers and, at the price point, it was pretty delicious. And I appreciate that the special here is only $ 1 extra for chips and a soda. My problem, sadly, is with the organization of their staff. Or lack thereof. This place is barely organized chaos right now and it takes forever to get a sandwich. The line is confusing since there are multiple areas which are not roped off. And there are plenty of people manning the lines so they should be able to make a simple sandwich. But, instead of being assembly line, even with minimal orders, they seem to be tripping over each other and not even fully realizing the ingredients yet. On my visit, I actually got a cheese melt instead of a regular cheese sandwich first. Despite pointing at the regular sandwich menu. And telling the person the ingredients I wanted which the cheese melt doesn’t feature. «Cheese sandwich» and«cheese melt» do not even sound similar. Right? One day this should be a serviceable sandwich shop with good prices. But the best? That’s seemingly going to take a small management miracle with this staff.

I should have taken some pictures, but I didn’t realize this TbSP location wasn’t on Unilocal yet! It’s the same owner and menu as the Georgetown location, but for a downtown lunch crowd, ad 18th and I NW. Prices are comparable to the other sandwich options in the area. I don’t know exactly how long this location has been open, but it’s on a block with at least two other sandwich shops, and the competition is clearly taking its toll on TbSP. There was one person waiting for a sandwich when we got there, and one person came in as we were leaving. They very obviously need to work on marketing. But the service was fine, which isn’t really surprising considering there was no one else there. The food… I don’t know. I just feel like if you’re going to use the word ‘best’ in the name of your business, the food better live up to it. I got the Greek chicken sub, which is A-OK, but not really the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. I honestly could name three other places within five blocks where I can get a better Greek sandwich. The bread was falling apart, but the flavors were okay. Nothing earth-shattering, but good. I WANT to give them four stars, but I’m honestly not sure I feel more than ‘A-OK’ about this sandwich. Here’s an article talking about the restaurant opening up, just FYI:
