I got called in for an interview by Charles Wolf on February 22, 2016. At that time he mentioned that he had two opportunities that needed an Office Manager. I am currently employed but wanted to see what was out there. After our interview, I was very impressed and could not wait to start working with him. As the days went on I sent email, after email trying to check the status of the two opportunities and to this day I have yet to receive a response. I think that is very unprofessional. Even if you felt as though I was not a fit as a client or suitable for the jobs that were mentioned in the interview, YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST TOLD ME. Meeting him was a complete waste of time and I will never work with the Midtown Group again.

Do not work for this company, especially with Molly O’Reilly. This agency is unprofessional and lack competence.

They set me up with an interview at a pretty good role, I nailed it, and the client requested to hire me. The recruiter told me I could not use my FL address on the W2 (I use a military mailing service based out of FL,) and when I explained that I and many other contractors I know do it all the time, the recruiter began raising her voice and telling me that the «federal government doesn’t allow that.» She spun this into offering me a 1099 (vs W2) basis and quoted a rate that would have effectively reduced my take-​home pay by $ 10/​hr and raised their already fat margin (this was a federal contract) by the same or more. I countered high as a ball park figure, and again the recruiter started shouting that I was being unreasonable. After I expressed intent to back out of the position, they offered me the high 1099 figure, but my interest was completely gone. Then they told me they’d give me the original W2 rate, which was effectively $ 10 less than the high 1099 rate, because apparently they discovered that the Federal government does NOT care if I work in VA and have an address in FL.
Basically, they argued with me for no legitimate reason, shouted at me alot, revealed that they could have comfortably paid me alot more but didn’t want to, then got upset that I didn’t want to bring them any revenue. This recruiter kept telling me it wasn’t her first «rodeo,» but I’m thinking it was more like the second or third. I get that recruiters are going to use car salesman tactics to push profit margins, but consider not doing it to people who have been contracting for 15 years.

AVOID! There are reputable firms out there, avoid this one!

I am already gainfully employed but I started to look for a new opportunity. I applied to a job that I thought was directly posted by an employer. Received a call on my cell phone that was listed on my resume. I was at work so I could not answer. THEN I RECEIVED A CALL AT MY CURRENT JOB FROM A RECRUITER AT THE MIDTOWN GROUP. No where was my office number listed. Their lack of professionalism could’ve cost me my job.
To make a long story short, extremely unprofessional company. If you’re currently employed, do not use this company.

While being unemployed I came across this company from a friend of mines who gained employment elsewhere. After 3 months talking to them, they were able to find me a job. The Company was great, my bosses were fine and the management (from Midtown was superb) but when my main manager left I was reassigned another person (who I rather not mention). She was terrible and never available for help regarding pay and my contract negotiations. Thankfully I was picked up by the contactors I worked for or else I don’t know where I would be. I give them 3 stars because they not only found me a job, but a decent paying job (compared to other temp agencies). I would reccomend, however with caution you may not want to put all your eggs in one basket.

My 3 recommendation is generous as the recruiter that I was assigned was extremely helpful during the process and while I was on assignment. I had a good assignment in a professional position at a large national nonprofit. Never had a problem with time sheet submissions, payroll etc. The onsite staff I met in my initial interview were quite friendly and even suggested I leave a Unilocal review. Full disclosure, this is my first time ever using a staffing agency, but my assumption is that all communication does not normally cease following an assignment. Not sure if they just have a high volume of assignments to fill and a lot of other eligible people available to fill those assignments and are really busy, but as I mentioned, once my assignment was completed I heard neither hide nor hair of my recruiter, this after promising assistance with professional development, breaking into the DC market and additional services that the agency would be available to provide, in my initial interview with the agency. I was disappointed to find that after my contract was completed I was unable to get in touch with my recruiter regarding additional opprlortunities via both email and phone and to date have certainly not heard of any follow up opportunities. In many ways, I share the sentiments of many of the other reviewers (both positive and negative and both explicit and obscene), even when I initially doubted the reviews because I had, what I thought, was an exceptional experience initially.

Calisha Wright was the best. However, she does not work here anymore. They must despise productivity.
Do not work with Jenifer Huckabone. I’m not sure if the other employees at this organization are as incompetent as her but she is not responsive, cannot be depended on, and does not update you on any opportunities. I’m not sure what they really do here. It is a complete waste of time.
They also seem annoyed when you call to follow up on certain things. Just a half-​assed organization after Calisha left.

After 14 ½ years on my job, I lost my job due to a major reorganization at my company. I was referred to Midtown Group by my daughter who had a rather pleasant experience with them. I followed up with the recruiter and was invited in for an interview. All went pretty well and I left feeling that I had done the right thing — I had signed up with an agency who was going to help me find my next job opportunity! Well, not! With this agency, when you’re hot, you matter, when you’re cold — well whatever. They don’t call; they don’t care and you don’t matter. I say that because at one point I was one of the top contenders for a position they were recruiting for. I received emails and calls from my recruiter and her superior to «get me ready» for the BIG interviews. After I did not get the job after weeks and weeks of interviews, I never heard from them again. As a matter of fact, I found out from another recruiter at another agency that the position had been filled. I called the agency to let them know and they acted like they didn’t even know. Poor excuse for an employment agency! If you’re looking for a job — don’t go there. They don’t care. I’m just saying… And… the recruiter in this instance will remain unnamed, but she will know exactly WHO she is!
