History

Established in 2004.

The Studio DC started in 2001 in a group house on Nebraska Avenue and has since grown into a community centered yoga studio in Adams Morgan & Dupont Circle offering daily yoga classes, retreats, teacher trainings, outdoor classes and much more.

The first yoga classes began outdoors for free or by donation. As the popularity of the classes increased, they outgrew the space and were moved into All Souls Unitarian Church. By 2002 classes needed a bigger space and a five day schedule, and moved to a church space on 16th Street. In spring 2004, the studio opened at its permanent home on 18th street in the bustling DC neighborhood of Adams Morgan.

Today the studio employs 50 – 60 staff, collaborates with many holistic practitioners in the healing arts, and is grateful to offer 70 weekly yoga, kirtan & meditation classes and serve as an an integral part of the neighborhood.

We hope you enjoy a heart opening practice and time at the studio filled with vitality & inspiration!
