What can I say? I’ll tell you briefly. I have had MS for 15 years and have a been under the care of many top MS doctors from Boston to San Francisco. Dr. Tornatore is the very best! He listens, takes your concerns seriously, and when you leave your appointment, you feel like you’ve got one of the best doctors you can get. In addition, he has a great support staff that tends to your requests asap. A great team.

What can I say about Dr. Tornatore. I saw Dr. Tornatore for around 3 years. From the start I got the sense that my issues were too insignificant for him to be bothered. At appointments I spent more time with his assistant than him. When he did sit to talk, at times he would be in and out on his phone. I let all of this slide. He was supposed to be wonderful. I liked his assistant. I understood he was busy. It was all worth it if I could be seen by a Dr. with his expertise and reputation. However, I had two incidents, one after the other where I needed help, and I could not get him to return my phone calls. The first time, I finally was able to get in to have an appointment after calling several time and begging. After getting in to see him I realized that he had not provided me my full set of options in prior appointments. He didn’t know if my insurance would pay– how does he know what I would have been willing to pay to avoid the point I got to in this appointment. And it turns out my insurance was happy to pay. This was a beyond frustrating experience. The second time was directly following giving birth to my son. I needed him to provide me with some insight on why he felt it was ok to take a certain drug and breast feed. After holding my new baby in my arms, I needed to better understand what I was putting in my body. A 5 minute conversation was all I asked. After 2 weeks of no returned calls, lots of stress and frustration and worry, I finally reached out to my former Dr., who no longer practices, who was able to answer my questions and confirm the recent research I had found. The latest research contradicted the recommendation Tornatori had given me on my latest visit. It was a 5 minute conversation that could have allowed me to avoid a lot of unneeded frustration and stress in those first weeks of motherhood. I was able to later confirm this information with other specialists I interviewed. I recognize that Dr. Tornatore must be good at what he does, but, it is my opinion that he has way too many patients to be bothered to give them all the care they deserve. I would not wish him on my worst enemy. I have interviewed 2 Drs since. Finding a competent and caring MS Specialist is not easy, but it is possible!
