The US Chamber of Commerce is one of my favorite trade associations. I attended two conferences and a hackathon here, and I am impressed by the grandeur of the event space, the central location in downtown DC, and the professionalism of the organization. I love being around entrepreneurs and innovators who are working to create something amazing, and the chamber supports these efforts with numerous worthwhile events.

I attended the Executive Women in Government’s 8th Annual Summit
Tuesday, March 29th, 2011. (see
) The event was fabulous. The setting was spectacular from the ballroom, to the anteroom, to the caterer. All these things combine to create quite an exquisite backdrop to the inspiring speakers for the day.
This place is glorious with the marble columns and floors; calming with hues of aqua and seafoam; and educational with the overhead ceiling beams inscribed with all manner of Latin words such as in vidi ex Nabisco et al. Yeah! Carpe canem! Mm hmmm. Armani emporium! But I digress.
If you have the opportunity to either visit or attend an event at here, I highly recommend you do! I’m a fan!

This place is awesome! I don’t know what they really do here, but I came as a guest (i.e. moocher of free booze and food) of someone who was attending a convention for meeting planners.
Equinox was catering the event! Yes! I saw Todd Grey running food out from the kitchen. I am not going to write a long winded review of the food, but the pastry chef’s macarons are the best I’ve ever had!
The venue is a great place to hold events. It is elegant and has great architectural details. State names (including the District of Columbia) are engraved in the wooden beams above. It’s a great location too — right behind the White House.
