United States Park Police

Officer Doerrler, Badge #251, is a poor choice to «monitor» national monuments on behalf of the US Park Police. He met genuine enthusiasm for national monuments with surly snarls to a group of high school civics students. He is clearly more interested in using his post to inflate his own sense of self and lacks any sort of perspective about the monuments where he is stationed.

I was at the USPP in Washington, D.C. (Ohio Drive) in July 2013. Can’t remember her name, but the older lady at the front desk was very attentive and helpful. The customer service was excellent!!! Thank you!!!

One of the most disrespectful/​lame officer. More like a high school graduate with a badge and a 2012 charger. Yes this is coming from a person who has has 7 family members in Law Enforcement also a hardcore police supporter. Gave me a citation for being in the park after closing while i clearly told him i was walking from DC to MD. People like him give bad name to LEOs. His attitude was worse than a construction worker working in 102 degrees. He should be a mall security guard not a Park Police officer
Will be taking further appropriate actions against him!!!

On our way down to Washington, DC for the 4^th of July as we were driving on 295 South near Greenbelt we had a very unpleasant experience with the US Park Police. I was driving in the passing lane passing a couple vehicle when I noticed a police vehicle racing up behind me. I moved over to the right (slow) lane as soon as it was safe to allow the police officer to pass. Shortly after he passed another police vehicle raced up along side me, he was tailgating the person in front of him. He was almost past me when he started moving in to my lane and nearly hitting me, to avoid a accident I honked my horn to warn him that he was too close to my vehicle. Of course just like any driver with road rage he sped up passed me, recklessly moved on to the shoulder to get behind me and pulled me over. He asked for my license and registration and I asked why I was being stopped. He said I was «encroaching on him»…think he has that a little backwards. So after 5 minutes of him checking my driver’s license most likely in hopes of finding something on me he walks back up and says «your lucky I have too many other things to deal with to be able to deal with you». I then asked him his name and he gave it to me saying «you go ahead and make a complaint». Yes US Park Police Officer H. I will be making a complaint.
I’m not a cop hater more of a supporter but when police abuse their powers and illegally stop you for something they did wrong I have an issue with that.

Being a regular to traffic stops, I got pulled over on 295 and these guys are great. The officer that pulled me over issued me a ticket. However he was professional, courteous, no nonsense, non-​judgmental, and fair. If I could choose to get pulled over for a minor infraction, I would want the park police to do it. I wish the Park Police trainers would teach the MTA police how to make traffic stops.

Super-​good cops, doing a super-​hard job. Have you any idea how many demonstrations, protests, parades and events those decicated guys and gals handle in parks all over the D.C. area? How many people they protect and how much crime they deal with? What a fantastic job they’ve done protecting the Washington Monument, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials ?! Hats off to them !!!

they tazed my buddy charles… TWICE for putting people on his pedicab in front of the air and space museum… yell at us pedicabbers all the time.
they haven’t been mean to me personally… but thats because im a princess… and i obey the police and always apologize if i’m doing something that bothers them…
personally i give them 3 stars. … pedicab world would give them a –2,000,000 but a nice happy medium is half a star.
however, if this is the dc police department… which would mean dc street cops… i give you guys 5 stars for not ever bothering me.
