What a horrible company. Called 2 days ahead of time to schedule a 7am pickup to be taken to the Ronald Reagan Airport from Capitol Hill area. Called again the night before to confirm my reservation. Was told they would be there waiting at 7am. Called at 7:03 and was told it would be another 5 – 10 minutes and if the cab hadn’t arrive I should call back. 2 more phone calls and still no cab, the last operator told me they were still trying to find a cab for me! It’s not like they weren’t aware in advance that I needed one. Someone walking by said cabs companies in DC were unreliable and that’s why they’re going out of business all the time and that I should try ÜBER. Downloaded the app and 6 minutes later an Über taxi arrived… thank goodness! Called back to cancel the VIP cab and was told they had cancelled my reservation after my 2nd call this morning… they completely lied to me and if I’d waited for them I’d have missed my flight… never use this company!!! Go über taxi if you need reliable service.

I missed my flight to Alabama for my mother’s birthday because of VIP Cab company.
I called for a cab and was told they couldn’t tell me how long it would be, but would mark it «high priority».
I called back 35 min later and was told that they couldn’t find a cab for me. On a Sunday afternoon, no bad weather, no major city events.
*They couldn’t find a CAB for me? Are they or are they not a CAB Company?!*
Well, for Harold Pinter fans, this was straight outta «Victoria Station» for me– and I went straight outta my mind. (I’m a pretty mild-​mannered, if somewhat unusual, gal. I’d rather not suffer fools, but dammit, I do.)
I then had to call for another car service who took me NOT to the airport (whole other story there), and yours truly missed her flight to sing Happy Birthday to her momma.
The final coup de grace was while in the second car, 20 minutes after my flight took off, the cab driver called me, «Yeah, I’m here. You call for a cab?»
Indeed.
No Mommas were hurt in the making of this review, though: USAir was able to reschedule me. I arrived super late, but still in time to ice her cake (chocolate on chocolate with coconut and cherries) and sing Happy Birthday with my sister.
No thanks to VIP Cab. Bring on the car services that self-​regulate and give much better service than DC cabs. I take regular ol’ cabs in Boston and in Manhattan without trouble. But DC cabs are a whole other (useless) beast.

There is nothing remarkable or exceptional about this cab company. The customer service is occasionally just above the operators or drivers treating you like a nuisance. If you have the option, use a bike, your legs, metro, a generous friend, or Über instead.
