History

Established in 2011.

Visionary Wild is the brainchild of Justin Black, a nature photographer whose photo industry experience includes extensive publication and exhibition history, ten years as director, curator, and workshops organizer at Galen Rowell’s Mountain Light Photography in California, and two years’ service as the executive director at the prestigious International League of Conservation Photographers, where he remains an affiliate member.

Justin launched Visionary Wild to provide mentorship experiences that open new pathways to photographers who have done the seminars, taken the standard workshops, and who are looking for new opportunities to move their work to the next level of quality, depth, purpose and meaning. A worldwide network of expert resources and partnerships helps to ensure the quality and authenticity of our programs.
