This is an average truck. Nothing wow abut it. But has really much potential to improve. Service was ok. Their subs are also good but definitely not the best. Will come back to try more

This is one of the food trucks that appears frequently outside of our office in downtown DC. Their twist on the submarine sandwich is that they do theirs with an Asian flare. I had the Bulgogi Sub(they also have a spicy version with kimchi but I have learned as I get older that the word«spicy» takes on a whole new meaning when dealing with food trucks). Thinly sliced meat well marinated. A fresh bun and fresh ingredients. Very simple food very well executed.

Love it! I had the beef bulgogi sub for lunch. After having food truck lunch over the past few weeks, I can honestly say this is one of my favourite food trucks in DC. The sandwich was a bit messy with the mayo and«hottie sauce», but well worth the mess! 6 hours later and I am still pretty full from the sub!

Oh my goodness. Boyfriend and I wanted something fast around the Smithsonian and came across this. Both went for the Bulgogi sub and blew our minds. Best food truck food we’ve had, and we come from NY. Actually better than some restaurants we’ve had too. Good job, guys. Come to NY!

Thoroughly enjoyed my kimchi bulgogi for lunch today. There was no line around 1:30 on a Friday and the sandwich was freshly made just for me! Yum.

I heard a lot of good things about the food trucks in DC. So after a long day of doing touristy things and seeing a lot of cherry blossoms, I was getting hungry. My bf ordered the bulgogi kimchi sub. The bulgogi is like any other bulgogi you get from a korean supermarket. It was cooked well and very saucy. You can ask for sauce like the hottie sauce but it wasn’t spicy at all :( The price was about the price of a meal($ 11) with fries and it was very filling. It is a quick bite.

After a long day of touring the museums and capital, nothing hits the spot like a meaty sandwich. I ordered the bulgogi kimchi sub and it took be about a whole 2 mins to finish it. It was finger licking good, the warm steak was perfect with melted cheese and a little spicy kimchi to cut the richness. If you are looking for some Korean goodness after your sight seeing, give the sub a try and be sure to get some sexy sauce or hottie sauce.

Easily one of my favorite food trucks but to give it a fair assessment, it could be better. They have standard sandwich types that come with variations: bulgogi, California chicken, teriyaki, and sweetie. I always get the kimchi bulgogi. While I love my sandwich, I feel like they could offer more sides other than a bag of chips. I was also going to say that I wish they had specials, and realized that I think they do try to switch up the menu… But it’s not advertised very well. When you’re standing in line, the specials are hard to read from a distance :/ It’s pricey, which I expect from DC, but you’re easily paying $ 10 for a special sandwich with no sides. I stopped coming here because of the wait time– I only order if there are no more than 3 people ahead of me in line. Otherwise, it can eat up most of my lunchtime. I do appreciate the free fries that they gave me today though. :) That was a pleasant surprise.

Bulgogi kimchi sandwich… rock on. I rarely give our four stars for a food truck. The sandwich was tasty and in good portion. A perfect match will be a cold beer. Give it a try.

Quick, excellent tasting sandwiches served with a smile. Can’t ask for much better. I enjoyed my kimchi sub and was blown away. It tasted great and was huge. Definitely a must try. Keep an eye out for the truck, they’re worth checking out.

I’m so satisfied with this sandwich. I got the bulgogi kimchi sub — it was quite tasty and very filling. It was about $ 10 including tax, which for the size of the sandwich is definitely fair. I thought the kimchi could have been spicier(I spent some time in Korea this summer, where pretty much everything is really spicy), but I guess that’s what the side sauces are for. It’s a scandal that DC doesn’t have more Korean restaurants, but Wassub steps up. I’ll be back!

Excellent sandwiches that are loaded with meat and toppings! I tried the bulgogi/kimchi sandwich with the ‘sexy’ sauce. After the first bite I already knew I would be coming back to Wassub eventually. Friend tried one of the chicken sandwiches w/o sauce and concurred that they would be back ASAP as well. I am very confident I could order their entire menu and not have one bad sandwich. The truck loses one star for the sandwich being incredibly messy — but it’s because they pile on the meat and toppings whereas most sandwich places build their sub around the bread instead of the good stuff. Make sure to pick up a fork!

It’s a pretty big deal giving a food truck five stars but here are the reasons why this is one of the best places to eat in DC: 1. Their steak bulgogi kimchi sub is just about he best I’ve ever had. Soft bread, great Sauce, well-cooked meat, and big enough for two people. 2. DC’s Korean food scene is not as great as it can be so it’s amazing to see a food truck stepping it up big time, I’ll be waiting for the wassub restaurant to open soon. 3. The truck has the best marketing team to have come up with the cool name and super sexy signs. Their great sense of humor is refreshing in DC and will take them far! My only complaint is paying $ 1,50 for a soda, come on now? Can’t wait to bump into this one again!

Pretty good bulgolgi sub. I really liked the lady who was serving the subs, as she made the subs«extra sexy»(equivalent to extra piquant) with the sauce. The salad and sides were very fresh and filling. I would definitely be back!

The bulgogi kimchi sub is absolutely delicious. The meat is marinated and seasoned extremely well. It is so tender and juicy, it would make a delicious meal on its own. But to make things even better it is topped with an egg, cheese and some great kimchi. All of this deliciousness is served on a perfectly toasted bun, which makes for an awesome meal that is packed full of flavor. If you want to make things even more interesting, you can ask for one of their 3 sauces on the side. I always get the hottie sauce; even those it’s their hottest sauce it really isn’t that hot, more like a sweet sauce with a little kick.

Food Truck in DC! I went here around 12 pm at Chinatown station right next to the smithsonian museum. It seems to be that it’s a sub/sandwich foot truck with a Korean flavor/twist. So naturally I had to get the bulgogi with kimchi. It also came with eggs on top which gave the sandwich an overall good flavor. It wasn’t that spicy even though the sign said spicy but overall great flavor. They didn’t skimp on the meat either. I would recommend this food truck and would try their other subs as well.

I’m a pretty regular food truck goer and decided to try Wassub out today. I have to say I was very pleased with this choice. I got the Bulgogi Kimchi sandwich with the Hottie sauce. The sandwich was packed with a ton of flavor and the meat was very well seasoned. You will definitely be full after one of these. I will most certainly be adding Wassub DC to my growing list of top food trucks. Tips: Grab a handful of napkins you are gonna need them!

About a 2 – 2.5: I saw the Wassub DC food truck as part of the chain of trucks in front of the Smithsonian American Art & Portrait; I was actually in the area to check out another truck, but I was curious about this so I decided to give them a try. The truck was apparently started back in ’12 by 3 friends who wanted to introduce Asian fusion subs to the DC area. Their menu offers Bulgogi, Teriyaki Chicken/Steak, California Chicken, and a Wassub Sweetie sub options. I tried their Bulgogi Kimchi(option B); this was stated to contain ribeye marinated in a homemade soy sauce, Provolone cheese, and topped with homemade kimchi. You can also request any of their ‘Wassub Sauces,’ in which they offer 3 types: Sweetie Sauce(think of those ‘spicy mayo’ that comes on maki rolls, but not spicy), Sexy Sauce(still mayo-based, but a bit more tangy), and the Hottie Sauce(seems to have a little habanero kick to it, but still mayo-based); I requested to sample all 3, which was not a problem: D When I opened up my little styrofoam box, I was surprised at the size of the sub, as it was about a 6-incher; for some reason, the picture on the menu seemed to make it look like sliders than a sub, but then I realized that it wouldn’t make any sense due to their name: P Also, I noticed that the ingredients listed on their menu was not what filled my sub — it actually contained bulgogi, a fried egg, and melted cheese… I was a little confused, because I never requested a fried egg, and I was wondering why such substitutions were made without letting the customer know? T___T The sub itself was just okay, as it seemed as if I was eating a ‘bulgogi breakfast’ sub; the bulgogi was more on the sweeter end, and dipping it into the 3 sauces was fine and added a little sauciness aspect to it(all tasted somewhat similar; it was just either a little sweeter, tangier, or spicier). The bits of kimchi that were in there were well-fermented, but such pitiful portions — I was pretty sad about this T___T There is also a little ‘poster’ on customer-submitted reasons on why Wassub subs are better than sex — I guess some might get a kick out of these. I was a little disappointed, but I’m glad I was able to try them out. Just note that the prices on their menu are also ‘outdated,’ as I was charged an extra 50c(I am not sure if that’s the tax or an automatically-added gratuity, which seems like a first for food trucks). +random substitutions for sub ingredients without consent T____T +very minimal amount of kimchi in the subs T____T +request for the ‘Wassub Sauces’ +‘inaccurate/outdated’ prices on the menus T____T +located in front of the Smithsonian’s American Art & Portrait(mini food truck row)

Three and a third-ish stars. Service is courteous but the workflow is a bit inefficient given that the sandwiches are made to order by one person. Hottie sauce had a moderate kick. What’s described as fried egg on the menu is actually a helping of pretty fluffy scrambled eggs. Way more tender bulgogi than not-very-al-dente kimchi, but every mouthful was flavorful, if on the sweet side. Although I longed for a crustier bread to break up the soft textural purgatory of each bite, it was still quite a filling lunch. I was conceptually wary of the cheese getting thrown into the mix but as far as fusion grub goes, I didn’t hate it. Kinda wish they’d consider a fusion side or appetizer. I’ll still hit them up again to try the philly cheese steak dlx, and sweetie habanero with sexy sauce.
