History
Established in 1986.
Watergate Gallery & Frame Design started out as a picture framing business in the 70’s and has evolved into a business offering both fine custom framing and a showcase for a diverse group of artists. The current owner, Dale Johnson worked at the shop after graduating from American University with a degree in Art History. After several years of changes she bought the business and focused on picture framing. As the framing industry grew concentration on preservation framing grew in importance offering a much wider selection of materials. Watergate Gallery & Frame Design has followed the industry and offers high quality preservation framing using acid free materials and ultraviolet filtering glazing on all pieces to be framed. It is our belief that any object worth framing should be handled with the intent of preservation.
