Write for You is a premier retailer of fine stationery and invitations. We are located in Northwest, DC, two blocks south of the Chevy Chase Circle. Since 2001, we have become a destination for wedding invitations, bar and bat mitzvah invitations, birth announcements, moving announcements, party invitations, personalized stationery, holiday greeting cards and personalized calligraphy services. Our vendors include William Arthur, Vera Wang, Cranes, Luscious Verde, Smock, Page, Prentiss Douthit, Dauphine Press, Julie Holcomb, Stacy Claire Boyd, Sweet Pea, and Robyn Miller Designs. In addition, we have our wall of imprintables, suitable for all occasions that we can print in store. Our turnaround time is usually two to three days. We also have an artist that can create your own personal artwork. Every customer is important to us. Our mission is to help you create the perfect invitation that is an expression of your style. I had the BEST experience at Write For You picking out save the dates and invitations for my wedding. Bonnie, Noreen and the entire staff were SO helpful and the final products are better than I could have ever imagined. It was a pleasure to work with them and I have already recommended them to a few of my engaged friends. Thank you for creating such a beautiful final product!

I waltzed in here one day out of curiosity, not expecting to find anything I needed. I like stationary and card shops, but they’re usually over-​priced and rather tacky. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Especially the prices! This is a small business in D.C.- you expect the prices to be disturbingly high. But they actually weren’t. I’d say this place is slightly cheaper than your average Hallmark.
So, at quite reasonably prices, I found some things I had to have and proceeded to check out. My customer service experience wasn’t really good or bad. I waited a couple minutes; eventually, someone came and took my money and handed me my bag. I didn’t get the feeling they really like customers, but they weren’t overtly rude so I’m good with that. If interacting with the staff is like interacting with computers, well, that’s not so bad right?

A cozy, highly browsable little store in my neighborhood that sells lovely stationery/​whimsical gifts. Things I’ve picked up:
— cute decorative bags for holiday treats
— kitchen timer shaped like an [adorable] owl
— one of those spindly-​armed head massagers that gives you pleasant little scalp shivers
(Defensive side note: not ALL of my $$ is spent on junk, er, delightful sundries.)
I’m a little surprised at the scathing reviews on here since I’ve always had a pleasant experience (though I’ve never ordered customized stationery or anything).

Rude, rude, rude, — owners are rude and snobs– grow up ladies — and use your business sense. YOU are never rude to your new customers who have disposable income. Owning a stationery store does not make you God. PLEASE observe your younger employees who are not only knowledgeable but courteous. I would give you 5 stars for your selection of cards and your unusual selection of gifts, but totally turned off by the horrible customer service.

Love this place – I first purchased my wedding invitations and stationery there ten years ago and have been going back for cards, party invitations, and gifts ever since. The staff is so personable and helpful. They always have great ideas for the perfect gifts for my husband, my nieces/​nephew, and my colleagues at work. Highly recommended if you are looking for special stationery or invitations. They do great custom work.

The ladies who work at this place are straight up mean. They obviously only cater to ancient, rich, white, stuffy women in Chevy Chase. I work right around the corner so I’ve gone in two or three times but never again. They are rude, ignore you, and seem like they just want to get you out of the store. I don’t understand why anyone would choose to treat their customers that way. Go to PULP in 14th and V
WAY better cards and things and WAY nicer! Plus minority-​owned!

The staff here is so-​so but I gave it four stars anyway because I really like the card selection here! I found a cute card to send to my aunt and uncle to congratulate them on there new (est) baby and a sad/​sweet card to send to my friend when she relocated to California.

This store has a lot of potential, but I will probably not visit here again since the customer service was annoying. After randomly eating lunch in this neighborhood, my friend and I were on our way to Georgetown to buy some thank you cards, but changed our minds when we saw Write for You. The store is located just around the corner from where we ate lunch, on a cute block in Chevy Chase.
We decided to check it out, and I ended up finding what I was looking for right away — blank cards. I had to buy a lot, and wanted to see if there were any more in the back, but the sales representative who was working the floor kept brushing me off for the older women with children who were browsing at the same time.
Finally, I decided to just go ahead and buy the cards they had available, and then worry about it later when I ran out. I took the cards to the register, and the woman barely made eye contact with me while I purchased more than $ 100 worth. No «thank you,» «hi» or anything — she acted like she didn’t hear that I asked how she was doing. Busted!
I got the general vibe that I wasn’t the type of customer they prefer to see, so I’ll do us all a favor and never return.
