Yoga Hikes is an active, fund, social group workout that blends 15 minute segments of yoga and hiking repeated over 90 minutes. Participants will experience the strengthening and stretching of yoga combined with the cardio of hiking — while enjoying the great energy of the outdoors! Our yoga is Vinyasa based and open level with options for power. Hiking is done at a brisk pace and may involve hills, stairs, and uneven terrain of moderate difficulty level. Custom private hikes can be arranged for groups up to 15 or 20 people (depending on location).

Join us for Urban Yoga Hikes in the city or Nature Yoga Hikes through Rock Creek Park between April and November. We have hikes scheduled on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday and are available Fridays for private groups.

Yoga Hikes LLC is a licensed DC business and holds a permit authorized by the National Parks Service.

History

Established in 2013.

Yoga Hikes was launched in DC in spring of 2013 by Danielle M. Reyes, a certified yoga instructor (RYT 200), running group leader, and fitness and outdoors enthusiast.

Yoga Hikes DC is a unique way to enjoy the nature of Rock Creek Park as well as urban green spaces and historic neighborhoods (including Dupont Circle, Logan, Kalorama, Woodley Park, Georgetown, and others), while enjoying an active and social group workout.

Yoga Hikes DC is led by certified yoga instructor and lead Yoga Hiker, Danielle M. Reyes (RYT 200). A DC resident, she has always lived steps away from the trails of Rock Creek Park where she has walked, hiked, and run countless miles. A yoga instructor and running group leader, Danielle has been involved in teaching and fitness training for most of her adult life and loves working with people to achieve their goals. Yoga Hikes DC blends Danielle’s love of fun social activities with her passion for teaching yoga, hiking, and the outdoors. Danielle is trained in Vinyasa Yoga and has practiced many styles of yoga. Her instruction style integrates her many years of teaching and coaching into a fun and inspiring experience that will keep you challenged and leave you refreshed!
