Yogen Fruz

The yogurt is good but the service was not so great the people working there were a little rude and it took a whole for them to get my yogurt granted it was only myself and one other person in the place.

The yogurt was really good, however the service was terrible. It was like the two people working were new and unsure of what they were doing It was also over priced. You’ll be better off from a time saving perspective and money perspective to go the frozen yo in Farragut square. Even though I work around the corner from this place I will not be going back.

I ordered the mint yogurt with chocolate chips. It was very expensive. It tasted terrible. So bad that I wonder if something had gone wrong with the batch. Then I got heartburn. I’ve had heartburn 3 times in my life.

This Yogenfruz location is about as awesome as the European party music they have pumping out of the walls here… which means absolutely awesome. I don’t get here as often anymore, but a few years ago my coworkers and I used to frequent it, even during the winter, which actually made it more amazing because there was never a line and the employees used to give us coupons as a commendation for being ridiculous and buying frozen yogurt in 35 degree weather. Or something.
Yogen fruz is different from other frozen yogurt companies, in that it’s better. You pick either chocolate or vanilla yogurt, and as many frozen fruits as you’d like, and it all goes into this magic machine that mixes everything together. You can get toppings as well. There are a million flavor combinations, but my favorite by far is the chai latte. MMMMM SO GOOD, and I don’t even typically drink chai. I’ve also tried mint chocolate chip, which was sadly less stellar, and tons of fruity combos. They even have lychee. The yogurt is so good that I usually don’t even opt for toppings, although some like the chai come standard with toppings. Anyway, go, enjoy, you’re welcome.

This location is near my office, and I enjoy coming here when I have a craving for their yogurt. The original is unbelievable. I usually get a small ($ 2.95) and get toppings (~$ 1.50). I love their mochi, and I usually add other fruit such as mango, strawberries, and blueberries. Their fruit is not the sweetest, but I don’t mind since I like the tartness. In addition to fruit, they have chocolate chips, chocolate shavings, and other sweeter options for toppings. One can also mix the yogurt with fruit.
I think the prices are a little steep, but it’s worth it. They used to have a Groupon Now offer where I paid $ 5 for $ 10. They did that mostly in the late fall or winter when there are fewer customers. I have not seen the deals during the summer. The servers are fairly helpful. The place, as noted by other reviewers, is fairly small, and the outdoor seating is not that appealing to me.

As far as frozen yogurt goes, this place is a win. They have a lot of different flavors and great toppings, and it tastes great. Only problem is it isn’t self-​serve, so I feel you end up paying more for what you get. I still can’t find anywhere that tops FroZenYo.

I’m still a little unsure of this place. The yogurt is pretty unadulterated. That’s good. I love sugar but I don’t need it and feel kinda lousy after I eat a lot of it, such as at Frozenyo. Then again, the yogurt here is a bit too tangy and not quite deserty enough. When you get, for instance, mint chocolate chip, you don’t get a big sweet hit like ice cream, which I guess is the point.
In any event, I like this place enough to keep going back and trying new combinations. I’m just not sure how frequently I’ll be back. The people inside are nice and help me through the many option available.
If I begin to feel differently, I’ll come back and change this review. Till then, it’s a 3-​star which is good but not great.

Continuing the search for the BEST froyo in town, I would say Yogen Fruz ranks upper middle class. Sticking to the tangy classic with some mochi and mango, I was more than pleased. The yogurt had a nice consistency and delivered the perfect tang.
Pros:
Ample variety of toppings (sweet and fresh fruits)
The option to mix in flavors into your froyo (think Tasti-​D-​Lite)
Cons:
The shop itself is pretty small
There’s no outdoor seating
Give it shot!

I like that they’re open on Sunday, which a lot of the ones in the same immediate area are not. And it was clean, though empty. However, the yogurt was bland and the flavors didn’t taste like what they were supposed to be. (And I had three different flavors!) I tried cappuccino, cake batter, and egg nog. They seriously didn’t taste like cappuccino, cake batter, or egg nog– just like bland, watery, sub-​par yogurt with indistinguishable odd flavors! Also, the blueberries and strawberries on the toppings bar looked like they’d been poured out of a frozen bag and left to thaw – ie: all mushy and darker-​than-​usual and unappetizing.
All-​in-​all, I’d say it’s not worth my $ 6.

Tart yogurt isn’t my thing. I tried the plain vanilla and it’s not so appetizing. My two children had one taste and shook their head and said «no, thank you.» I had to agree. However, the macha green tea with lychee I ordered was okay, and those strong flavors did a somewhat decent job of covering up the tartness.

Frozen yogurt has been around for awhile and the craze is certainly picking up again… but you’ve NEVER had it the way they do it at yogenfruz.
If you’re looking for the artificial «fruit» flavors that you’ll find in 21^st century mass produced ice creams, you’ll be sorely disappointed because for once we have a place that’s giving you the real taste of fruits embedded INTO the yogurt. Granted, this makes the taste more subtle, but it’s healthy, delicious, and refreshing. The smooth, cool, and creamy taste of frozen yogurt in the hot DC summer is unparalleled.
The process is simple. Pick a base frozen yogurt (chocolate or vanilla) and then choose from a range of frozen fruits that they physically BLEND and MORPH into an INFUSED frozen yogurt. So quite literally your frozen yogurt could be strawberry «flavored.»

Vanilla + Mango /​Raspberry
Chocolate + Raspberry
Vanilla + Pineapple /​Banana
Vanilla + Strawberry /​Banana

Once your creation is complete, you can add the same toppings as other frozen yogurt places like pinkberry, yoforia, or red mango. I recommend fresh fruits and mocci!

It was totally pathetic, I had this coupon of the living social and had 60 $ coupons for $ 30 and took my 7 friends there and was totally disappointed by everything. ranging from the «blends», the «quality especially the dry fruits seem old and stale».
Firstly only one person was there to attend us and we thought that things might be good.
I had eaten before in Frozen Yo a shop two blocks from the shop and that was awesome there was self service and we could buy anything we wanted and there was no bounds on the toppings you take.
But here It was all opposite to what I had expected, you have preset mixes and there is a limit to the toppings you can have. I am from India and we have pampered taste buds and believe me in no way I could rate this experience as good. My friends echoed the same thing and in the end I feel disappointed by this deal!

This is exactly what I want my froyo to taste like on a hot summer day! It’s tart and refreshing; the perfect balance especially when you add on sweet toppings (yogurt chips, mochi and strawberry FTW!).
I eat this way too often for it to be healthy, but I have to say it’s one of my favorite froyo places around my workplace. Compared to Frozenyo, which I find disgusting and way too sweet, this is a winner!
I’ve tried it blended (the chocolate espresso definetly has that sugar and caffeine pick me up) as well as the normal «top it». I do have to say, stay away from the Acai-​Blueberry yogurt. There’s something off-​putting in it that my taste buds just don’t like!
As mentioned before, keep an eye out for group coupons; Groupon Now always has the $ 5 for $ 10 worth… and on Monday and Tuesdays, Livingsocial Instant has $ 3 for $ 5 worth (my addiction clearly at its best). Enjoy!

This place is a block away from my office so my coworkers and I used to go here a lot in the summers. Most of the things I’ve ordered have been pretty good. I’m not a huge fan of their yogurt’s flavor/​texture but that’s not their fault it’s just a personal preference. The way you order is kind of confusing and totally inefficient, and they don’t have that much of a variety. The line goes out the door when the weather is warm, and sometimes they only have ONE employee running the whole shop — making orders AND running the register — so the line takes FOREVER! Even when there are two employees (and there are never more than two) the line still crawls because the process of making each order is crazy complicated.
I could forgive all those things because they are so close to our office, but the nail in the coffin is the price which is totally outrageous for what you get. Recently they had a Groupon offer that we all bought but once we used those up we stopped going. This was also around the time Frozenyo opened up by Farragut West, and they are 100x better in every way so there’s really no reason for us to go back to Yogen Fruz.

I work right off metro center, and I found groupons for yogenfruz! A friend and I stopped off to get some froyo – unfortunately they were out of mochi :(but i still got my greentea/​lychee. Eh, it’s ok. Unfortunately no place in the city matches up to yogurtland in CA :(

love love love this place. I work around McPherson square so I’m here every week, if not more.
The mochi and yogurt are all on point. Serving size = HUGE.
There’s a lot of variety of yogurt you can choose from — low cal, regular, tangy, mix-​it (which features different flavors) — and it’s all good. I love the consistency — creamy and still icy enough to differentiate it from icecream.
This particular Yogen Fruz wins my heart (it’s a chain) because it has Mochi. So note: not all Yogen Fruz carry mochi. I also love the service here. Felipe and Steven are SO nice and funny.
Wish it was cheaper, but its well worth the extra mooh-​lah.

I never thought I’d stray from Mr. Yogato, but this place is quickly becoming a new favorite…
You get bang for your buck here. $ 5.50 buys you a very substantial medium cup of yogurt and as many toppings as you can fit in there. The yogurt is light and slightly tangy — just the perfect consistency. You can choose between the standard original/​blueberry/​combo choices, or you can customize your flavor from dozens of choices for $ 0.75 more.
When you’re there, ask if Steven’s around. Nicest guy ever. The first time I ordered, he topped my cup with so much yogurt that there was little space for toppings. When I went back to ask for more toppings 10 minutes later, not only did he gladly agree, he asked if I wanted some MORE complimentary yogurt! Of course I did!
As you can guess, I went home that evening very satisfied, and certainly a new loyal customer. Can’t wait to go back again!

Five for flavor (3.5 for price)
Exactly what I’d been craving for weeks. Just started working in the area, and since my old job was conveniently located above a Sweet Green with their delish tart fro-​yo, I’ve grown accustomed (now my beloved breyers ice cream seems some how too sweeet!)
Anyway, I went to Dickey’s Frozen Custard last week on recommendation from a coworker, and im sure it was good for what it was, but it was not tart and not all what i was craving, and so i continued unsatisfied…
Until today — I got the medium tart soft serve, unlimited toppings (but the guy said, ‘which means like 3 or 4′) so i added fresh strawberry, fresh mango, choc chips and granola.
For $ 5.45, thats not a bargain, but it was sooooooooooo good and fresh and exactly what i needed.
So i will try to limit my self to once a week for this delish but slightly expensive habit

I’m a little biased because my office loves this place and I love snack breaks and since breaks and yogen fruz go hand-​in-​hand, I have pretty warm feelings towards it.
What makes Yogen Fruz different from other frozen yogurt places is they can blend different ingredients with the yogurt, right in front of you. Which is sort of cool.
If you’re there, I’d just get the coffee chocolate chip special (blended coffee and tart frozen yogurt, covered with chocolate chips) since it’s the same price as regular frozen yogurt with some toppings. Also, topping size is totally dependent on your server. If you see the surfer-​ish looking guy (he has one of those shell type necklaces), tell your order to him because he’s really nice about toppings/​life.
