Robert and Joanie B.

Business Owner

Owners Robert and Joanie B. have combined their love of travel, great design, fine art, quality textiles and beautiful things into a stunning store which has received numerous accolades. Robert’s experience in the art world spans over 30 years, from directing multimillion dollar art galleries in San Francisco to directing and creating museums in New Zealand, California and Virginia. He taught painting in several universities and art schools, has managed several art councils and is also a trained frame maker. An accomplished artist, Robert has exhibited nationally and offers his own paintings through the gallery and website. Joanie’s life has included a variety of occupations, all which culminated in the creation of her business with Robert. She worked over 20 years in theatre, television and radio, both in front and behind the scenes, from DC to NYC. She draws much inspiration and self-​taught design experience from her love of interior design, art, architecture, and theatre.
