When I called this local business, they were easy to schedule a consultation. Bill came over to my house and immediately I knew that he was the perfect person to help me out — he advised, measured every window and insured that the Nantucket blinds fit and were installed correctly. Even afterwards, he followed up to make sure all was well. Although I spent more than I had intended, the results are gorgeous and lifelong (or at least as long as I live here!) — really spectacular and I am 100% happy. Highly recommend Window Wears, and Bill C. in particular!

They did a fabulous job installing new blinds throughout my house! Friendly, professional, and punctual. A great business I would recommend to everybody.

We had plantation shutters designed and installed by Window Wears last Spring and can’t recommend them more highly. We worked with Adam, who is so, so knowledgeable and patient. We also received a quote from a larger chain, who’s rep was also very professional, but decided to go with Window Wears because Adam was SO knowledgeable and suggested/​offered us a level of customization that didn’t seem to be on the radar of the larger chain’s rep (or maybe they don’t offer such adjustments?).
Specifically, WW (1) figured out a way to inset the shutters in a way that made them look more built into our 100+ year old windows (as opposed to an «off the shelf» afterthought) and (2) Adam also suggested that we have the shutters covering the left and right windows of our bay as bi-​fold opening flush left and right respectively, rather than from the middle, as would be standard. This is an option that doesn’t affect the look at all while the shutters are closed, but has turned out wonderfully for functionality as it is so much easier to open the shutters fully without bumping into each other in the bay. I wouldn’t have known to even request such a customization had Adam not suggested it, so we feel so fortunate to have benefitted from his expertise.
As an added bonus, his quote came in slightly lower than the larger chain (I don’t think it was much, but still nice!). The installers were also top notch– two guys who have been at it for 40 years and also suggested some helpful customization in terms of placement of the magnets that is the least obvious visually. I really can’t recommend highly enough.

We were looking to order blinds for our new townhouse which has A LOT of windows. I contacted Window Wears and spoke to Sandy.
Sandy was very friendly and helpful. She came for a consultation and explained things quite well. She also worked with us to fit our budget. The installer Stephan was great and efficient.
We had a few small issues but Sandy worked with us to quickly fix them. She always responds quickly and makes things happen. Fantastic customer service and reasonable prices. We expected them to be more expensive than other quotes, so we were quite pleasantly surprised.

I sought guidance for the kinds of blinds I needed. Sandy was super helpful and not pushy. I made my decision, and the blinds showed up when they were supposed. The man who installed them was very professional. I required some follow up, and Sandy was here when she said she would. Six months later, I needed some fine tuning. Sandy came over on Memorial Day to help adjust my blinds. Three thumbs up!

Window Wears is absolutely amazing. Adam came to our row house to measure the 30 windows that needed treatments. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and precise in helping us select the ideal type of window treatment and textile for each room (Hunter Douglas treatments, half of which are automated). He has a great eye for design and really helped us hone in on exactly what we wanted that would fit in with our overall décor.
Adam and his team could not have been easier to work with. Our treatments were recently installed and we are thrilled with the results. There were minor issues with two of the windows, but Adam corrected them immediately and made sure that each and every treatment is perfect.
Not a single complaint about Window Wears — it was an excellent experience all around.

Adam came to our place a first time to measure one bedroom, and then a second time when we decided to do both bedrooms at the same time! He was very pleasant and helped us deciding on the fabric, colors, and models.
A couple weeks after, as promised, we were contacted for our installation. Stephan was extremely polite and efficient in doing the job. We found that three windows are crooked and some parts didn’t fit as ordered; Stephan immediately went to the shop to fix it, and came back within 45 minutes.
Perfect in home consultation, and installation. If you want a professional job, and pleasant people to work with, look no further.

No need to look any further if your in the market for shades. Bill was excellent. His experience and great eye really paid off as he helped me find the right solution for a unique situation. I wanted to allow plenty of light through during the day, but also deal with potential energy loss and light pollution at night. Bill helped me find the perfect solution that not only works great in this situation but also looks amazing.

What I enjoyed most about working with Bill is that he was reliable, responsive and unpretentious. I liked that he showed us various options for blinds — told us the pros and cons of each — but then ultimately let us decide which suited us the best.
My fiancée and I chose to do Flat Hunter Douglas roman blinds for our living room and Nantucket shades for our bedroom. I wanted everything to be perfect and so I spent weeks pondering over the color and pattern (Window Wears has book loads of sample prints — you can spend days just flipping through them). I couldn’t make up my mind so Bill was nice enough to let me swing by his office in Dupont to sit there and flip through the book till I picked out what I felt was the right design. Got a chance to meet Adam who was just as pleasant.
Installation was scheduled a couple of weeks later. It was quick, professional and the end product looks great! I am so excited and can’t wait to recommend Window Wears to other newcomers to D.C. who need blinds for their home.
p. s. Like other Unilocalers, I had inquired with NDB as well since its always good to get a comparison if you’re new to the area. NDB’s service wasn’t shabby, but they took forever to send a proposal after stopping by my place. Their quotation was also in a similar ballpark as Window Wears or perhaps if I recall correctly only slightly less expensive.

Like most people, I got the run around circus treatment from NDB. Eventually had to cancelled my order because I could not take another debacle episode, and came to Unilocal for some research. Found Bill at Window Wears and called based on the great reviews here. How refreshing to get professional service and great installation. No confusion, no misquotes, no scheduling messes and no BS. You’ll pay just a little bit more, but it’s totally worth the hassle free and accurate work. Our windows look great. These guys are real pros with experience and attention to detail. I’ve been renovating and doing a lot of work on my house to get it ready to go on the Market. It was great working with Adam, he came to my house and after asking some questions, he made some suggestions and they were ordered. I had another contractor in working on my house when they were installed. He commented that he had never seen such a great fit with no gaps. He had never seen a better job of measuring. Although I haven’t had the pleasure of using Window Wears, I live upstairs and had a problem with my blinds recently (which they did not install).
The owner of Window Wears kindly came up to my apartment, evaluated the situation, and set me on the right path to get them fixed. No charge.

I ordered some Hunter Douglas window shades from them. Overall, they did a great job and were also the cheapest I could find for the honeycomb shades that i needed for my bedroom. They were even cheaper than Costco.
However, I lowered it one star only because it took a while to get the shades and when they did arrive, one of them arrived broken, so I had to wait another 3 weeks before a fixed one arrived again. Otherwise, I would recommend them for those looking to buy new blinds for your place.
