Home. of the Big Bun. If you like subs with huge hunks of white bread and some filling inside and then your tips stolen from new employees and given to olds employees as a matter of policy, then have at it.

The good: 1) Decent selection of sandwiches. You will find something you like on the menu… provided it’s sub sandwiches. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by the quality of anything served there. 2) Their meatball sub is great. It’s my favorite. They hollow out the bread and line it with cheese slices, then put the meatballs and marinara inside. You can eat it without a single meatball falling out. That is worth a whole star in my opinion. 3) The building itself: What an awesome location! The store is one of Wasilla’s only historic buildings and it retains it’s original charm. It is almost in the center of the tiny district so if you’d like to start or end a short walking tour of Wasilla’s original buildings, it’s a great stop. 4) The décor! Old store items, photos of Wasilla being built and it’s progress. I can walk around and just look at the photos while I wait for my meal. The«ok»: 1) It’s very popular. The lines at lunch are often out the door. However, I don’t see a way for them to offer an additional station for taking orders with their set up. This inefficiency may seem quaint to some, but I don’t enjoy standing in line for 15 – 20 minutes. Perhaps if they allowed you to be seated and took your order at table side? 2) Service. While the staff seem polite enough, you will see them only twice. When you order and pay, and when they find you to give you your order. You are on your own. If you want condiments other than ketchup, they are on a antique sideboard. If you want a drink, it’s fountain-style and self-serve. Bus your own table when you’re done eating. The service is so bare-bones, I was surprised they’d even consider anything they do «tip worthy». It’s not like they mess your order up or glare at you while you eat, but between the long wait in line and the fact the staff does very little besides take money and make sandwiches it’s not like there are traditional«wait staff» to tip. The bad: 1) Their parking. It just doesn’t exist. There’s like 20 parking spaces, 5 of which are taken up by staff.

Subs were great, cookie was stupendous, no issues at all and we will be back for sure. Plus it’s walking distance, makes it real tempting to just take a quick stroll and grab a cookie if nothing else.

Great sandwiches to grab before heading to the glaciers! The portions(10″) are pretty big – even the salads are huge. Also their tomato soup is pretty good. Large selection of sauces to try.

The food is bottom-shelf quality at top-shelf prices. My family and I will never eat here again.

We stop here for lunch or dinner every time we’re out in Wasilla. They never disappoint no matter what I get! You’ll want to get there early to grab some of the amazing cookies, they go fast! Our go to’ are usually the chicken bacon ranch as a wrap or the Italian… but again, every things is delicious!

Best sub ever in Alaska! I came in this shop with Alaskan feeling. Ordered buffalo chicken wrap and they made the best one every. Perfect to eat the wrap. Not little or too much mayo. I will def come back again to try something else or will eat buffalo chicken again. By the way it’s great compared to Pita Pit sub shop.

I love the 6 inch Italian with extra meat! It’s better than any Sub had an Alaska and pretty darn close to a new jersey Mike’s. I wish they had Capicola ham! If you’re really hungry get a cookie with your yummy too.

Good sandwiches, but the owners treat employees horribly. Won’t even give them tips for the first 6 months of employment, such a shame. Owners are extremely greedy, this is very well known around Wasilla. I can’t imagine them being open much longer.

Great food and and fun casual atmosphere. Best cookies in the Valley! Only thing I don’t like is they are closed on Monday’s.

I had just moved into town and I came across this restaurant while I was driving around town a decided to stop for lunch. They make the best subs! The chicken melt is amazing and tastes so good. Made with really great ingredients. The even have jumbo cookies! A must stop and eat if you are new to town. I will definitely be back again.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! If you want one hell of a sub, this is the only place I would recommend. Freshest breads. Tastiest meats. Crispy veggies, and some of the most delicious dressings and toppings. They offer some of the best cheeses I’ve ever had. I like most of Boars heads products, but I’m pretty sure that this isn’t them. An A one sandwich in my humble opinion, and by looking at the other reviews, I’m not alone in my beliefs. If I ever had to choose a last meal, this is the menu I’m reaching for! Highly recommended for lunch, an early dinner, or a few subbys for that Saturday fishin trip with your buddies.

This place could survive as a bakery alone but they don’t have too cause they provide excellent sandwiches as well. I had the hot pastrami 10″ sandwich which had delicious sour kraut and cheese atop fresh bread. Recommended. It did cost $ 11 bills. But what really blew me away was the kit Kat cookie that Essentially is the same as a chocolate chip cookie but with kit Kat instead of chips. It was so thick and fresh and u could taste the real ingredients.

First of all, THESMELLOFTHISPLACE! Lol like walking into a bakery:) loved the subs here, lovely fresh bread and lovely people. COOKIES? TRYYYTHECOOKIES! So good and huge and gooey! My kids loved sitting upstairs looking out the windows buttttttt there were quite a few dead insects up there behind the condiments and things lol not a big deal being that it is in Wasilla but still, be nice not to have them surrounding our delicious food! Pricing is fair because of the freshness/quality of the food!

This place is awesome. The portions could feed a small village. The orders come up quick and the staff is on top of it. My husband and I were stuffed to the gills after our chicken bacon ranch and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. He loved the assortment of sauces ranging from mild to unbareable. We are very excited to visit this quality establishment on the regular!
