I reaaaally like this Petco.
Beautiful selection of bettas, even female ones. This was the first place that I’ve seen that sells females.
Great prices on saltwater fish, with really friendly and knowledgeable staff. They also don’t make you feel bad if you don’t use RODI water.
Bought some live rock last night and it came with a free hitchhiker (turbo snail).

I am VERY upset with how we were treated by the sale associates! They saw us come in with our service dogs on the SAME leashes we had on our dogs when we went to check out! Leashes Petco doesn’t even sell! The sales associate accused my husband of stealing the leashes, which by the way have Zoom Room stamped into the leather! Why does he have to stand there and argue at check out and need to have to request security tapes pulled?! I have been a regular there but not any more! That was so disrespectful and horrific treatment! I was upset with how rude the associate was last time who complained about having to work and was looking forward to a weekend! The staff there needs a LOT of training!

Although they offer a better high end selection of food than Petsmart, they could do better. I do not like the care given to the small animals. The ferrets cage is always filthy and full of flies and their nails are terribly overgrown. They say they don’t have time to clip the nails and its normal for ferrets to have that much waste in their habitat. Well, the petco in Hurst always has a clean cage and the ferrets nails are taken care of. You can tell by the way the employees at the hurst store handle the ferrets that they really care. Not so much at the Watauga location

This is a nice Petco. They always have animals for adoptions on the weekends so it can be crazy. I love their clearance stuff for dog toys. Nothing seems abnormal service wise and it always seems well organized with a staff that always makes sure you are finding everything alright. Woop woop.

We took our lhasa poo here to get a shampoo and although other times have been fine this time was not. We told the lady strictly not to cut her hair and that we ONLY wanted a shampoo and blow dry. She ended up with a completely uneven SHAVE job which is not at all what we wanted. Luckily she has moved to New Jersey now so she/​we won’t have to go back.

what a disaster, we took our cocker spaniel to get a cut at the groomers my wife told them to do a traditional cocker cut. When she went to pick him up they cut everything off they cut the skirt off, all the hair on the legs. My poor buddy looks like a rat now. The excuse was that he had lots of matts in his hair so they had to cut it off. I never had this issue anywhere else. I am to the point that i might not even buy their dog food from this place either i am so ticked. How can you cut all the dogs hair because you can’t deal with it. Not even a call from anyone advising that they are having problems. If they had called me i would of picked him up and went somewhere else.

Based on Diane T.‘s review, I’ve bought the bulk litter twice now and it does seem to track less and is also less dusty. So while I can find slightly less expensive (per pound) litter in 40 pound boxes, this refillable 30 pound tub concept* is working well for us.
* Initial cost for the tub and litter is slightly higher than the refill cost.

I need a new harness for my lab, he is 130lbs and his chest measures 40″! I figured they would have a nice selection of harnesses. All of their collars were picked over and thinned out. They had a sign about bringing in new but I have seen that for a few weeks now. I went to PetSmart over on Heritage Trace and found exactly what I needed. I’m not crazy about this PetCo at all.

I don’t much care for this store either. I don’t remember Petco being so bad in SoCal, but I did like PetsMart better there anyway for some reason. The only reason I go into this store is to buy a brand of cat litter they carry that I can scoop from a big bin into refillable tubs. I like it because it clumps well, is easy to scoop, and my cats don’t track too much of it all over the place like they do with other brands. If I could buy this litter at PetsMart, I wouldn’t shop at this store. I’ve found bags of cat food past the sell-​by date on their shelves a number of times. The last time I bought a bag of cat food there I started having those pantry-​type moths in my house. I couldn’t figure out where they were coming from until I opened the new bag of food. It was infested. Gross!
Just go to PetsMart down the road. It’s much nicer.
