Tried twice in one week to go here first day they were closed even thought the hours on the door stated otherwise drove over an hour for nothing second day in the same week called the answer machine stated they were open but with customers I left a message stating I wanted an appointment along with my cell phone number 3 mins away I called to say I would be late and the girl answered the phone stating they were flooded and couldn’t take me but nobody bothered to call me to let me know anything also both stores in Montclair and Hoboken turned me away as well so much for customer appreciation never again will I waste my time on PETTY KITTY!!!

im not sure why other peoples reviews are so bad! I went for the first time this past weekend and the person i got was AMAZING. I used to wax at this other place in south plainfield but i got burned so decided to try this place out after a girlfriend recommended it to me. the price is more expensive than the last place i went to BUT the price reflects the service and your nether regions should not be something you are cheap on.
I got Sharmayne and she was perfect! she was nice and extremely thorough with my wax. Got everything off and it was smooth as a babys bottom. it didnt hurt like normal waxes bc it wasnt scorching hot and they use a different better kind of wax and she also was very sanitary! the rooms are beautiful reminded me of a spa. They also uses tea tree oil.
I was VERY happy with my wax. worth every penny and i will be back!

Tina is great! Not all the techs are as good though, so I make sure my appointments are with her.

My kitty was not happy after visiting this establishment for the first time last week. I’ve been getting Brazilian waxing services for over 15 years; this was one of the more disappointing experiences. The aesthetician was inexperienced, caused unnecessary pain, and took way too long. She used too much grape seed oil, and kept going over areas she had already waxed. Their ‘special application method and soft wax’ is a gimmick. If you’re into waxing factories then this is the place for you. If you want real skin care, I suggest going to a spa. Not a franchise. Was hoping for a good local experience but this was far from acceptable.

I purchased the Groupon for this new Pretty Kitty because I know the Montclair location got very good reviews. I was excited to see that a location opened up closer to home!
They «specialize» in Brazilian waxing but I was not impressed by my experience the second time around. They use waxing strips, which was an adjustment for me, having gone to EWC for some time. After the second wax, I got home and realized that a slipshod job had been done. Enraged, I called to schedule a re-​touch because although I had a coupon, I assume their tactic should be to lure the customer in with a coupon, and then do a dynamite job so I am likely to come again. I went back a few days later for the re-​touch and realized that the waxers truly seem uncomfortable waxing… there. I know it’s not the same as waxing someone’s eyebrows, but to «specialize» in something, to me, means it should be second nature.
I’m not sure if I will return. The price is not right, at $ 60 a pop, it’s much more expensive than EWC. With a 4-​wax package, the price drops to $ 50, but I’m not sure it’s even worth it at that.
Décor is cute, staff is friendly and helpful. They are not as pushy about their products as EWC but encourage them nonetheless. I also like that the waxer gives you a minute to prepare instead of EWC where the waxers essentially watch you disrobe.
I think this branch needs some time to establish themselves and hopefully get some waxers with some more experience.
