This is one of the best YMCAs you can find. This Y has it all — a renovated wellness center, a warm-water therapy pool and 6-lane competition pool, group fitness including spinning, a basketball gym, child watch included with membership, a pre-school, a playground, and TRIATHLON&RUNNING clubs for ADULTS as well as the usual youth activities(swim team, swimming lessons, parent-child sports for little ones, etc). It even has a parking lot which is hard to come by for a downtown, urban location such as this one. The three toughest things here I would say are 1) when you are new, you will not know where to go. The place is an absolute maze. 2) sometimes the schedules for the activities there won’t mesh with your personal schedule, which is annoying, but that’s life. 3) it’s expensive. If you are just looking for«a gym» then go to Planet Fitness for wayyyy less money. If you want all the added stuff like classes, pools, child watch, clubs and community… the Y is where you want to be and it will absolutely be worth the money for you and your family. I almost forget there’s income-based assistance for membership costs, a cancer survivor program, and a sauna!
