I did not know what to expect on entering this unassuming middle eastern bakery for the first time. I looked around and was surprised that there were not more baked goods on display so I ended up asking the owner if he had any spinach fatayer, a.k.a. pies? He said yes, so sight unseen, I ordered a pair. After he showed them to me, he placed them in a small paper bag. I again inquired if he had spinach and feta fatayer? Yes was the response to which I responded, I will take 2. Lastly, I said is that baklava in the display case? Yes, well give me 2 of those as well. On returning home the 2 of us, my wife and I, each had a spinach & feta fatayer that featured a light crust, a bountiful filling and wonderful flavor. Though the baklava was not as light as I am accustomed, it was no less delicious. I asked my wife if she had luncheon plans for today, alas we will be sharing the last 2 fatayers. A couple of final notes — prices are more than reasonable, actually crazy cheap, and the various types of pita looked mouthwatering. Will I be returning? I will give you 2 guesses and no is not an option.

Great middle eastern bakery and grocery store, the fatayers are fantastic so tasty well seasoned perfect dough. The pita bread is so good the owner is so pleasant and nice. You can find a variety of middle eastern groceries and turkish coffee.

The best flat bread I’ve encountered, and their pitas are excellent. Five stars easily.

The Spinach pies here are incredible. The dough is very fresh and the filling is simple yet delicious. You can tell the hummus is very fresh as well. Very friendly owner and a large selection. This is a must if you’re in the Waterbury area.

The owner of this bakery is fantastic! He brought the warm Lebanese hospitality with him to Waterbury! He makes very good pita bread, and I’m huge fan of his Fatayer! The spinach and feta pies are a must try, and the Tabouleh is great!

Best pita bread anywhere! A little disappointed, though, as their web sites says that they’ll ship anywhere in the U.S. or Canada, but when my sister-in-law called, they said that they wouldn’t ship to Arizona.

This is a great little Lebanese bakery/store with a decent assortment of Arabic foods. Fouad Noujaim is the friendly proprieter and it’s hard to imagine a harder working man — I think he’s in the place by 3 am each day starting the baking. The store itself is a hole in the wall, but a great one at that. It’s my go to store for Arabic food in central CT. Tremendous homemade Arabic sausage(frozen only).

Best pita bread in CT. I also recommend the Zatar flat bread and the paprica-walnut and tomato flat bread.
