History

Established in 2007.

After 17 years as a Microsoftee… living at coffee houses in Seattle, we decided to «bring it home». Java Jo’z is the typical mix of what you would expect to find at your local coffee house but also loves to focus on smoothies, frappes and non-coffee beverages. In Seattle, Boni constantly searched for a place to «plug in» and dig out of the typical eMail volume experienced at a HighTech Software Company. The 100% smoothies and other optional frappes including those based on rice milk — brings a bit of everything to everyone. While a light lunch and bakery items are offered, including the mega brownies at small town prices… the future holds much more for Java Jo’z. The location is wired to accommodate musicians that want to jam and two big screen tvs allow for choices, and more choices. We love it here, always have. As a transplant in 1957, Boni remembers the old «cop shop» on Main, Beck’s grocery store, Zimmer’s Pharmacy, Marc’s Big Boy and more… these are now gone…

Meet the Business Owner

Boni W.

Business Owner

Boni was salutatorian of the WHS class of 72. Holding different business roles: Supervisor of Stock Transfer at Marine Bank downtown Milwaukee, Personnel Director at American Roller, freelance programmer and Business Development Manager at Microsoft… Boni saw quite a bit of «the business» and «the world». Boni’s childhood embraced waitressing at her Aunt’s in TwinLakes and at Browns Lake Resort… fun times — and now they are back. At home at the café, I’m always home. A VP at Microsoft was once asked how to control the long hours at work. His response was to find something that you are more passionate about then Microsoft — and balance will find you… this is my life balance. I’ve seen a lot of firsts in Technology — heck, I’ve helped create them. A bit lower tech now,…but, we are evolving at a pace that makes business sense. For those who think we are a bit out of the way — just wait and see what ten years and a recovered economy will do… you’ll love this place then too.
