Established in 1989.

Steve and Joyce opened their first flooring store in 1987 (Tri-​State Carpet Co.) specializing in carpet and carpet cleaning. Steve had been working with flooring and carpet cleaning since the late 70’s in his family’s business. In 1989 Steve and Joyce joined the Abbey Carpet Franchise. They have been members of Abbey Carpet & Floor for over 20 years and are proud to be the longest operating Abbey Franchisee in New York State.

Steve grew up in the North Country. He has been very active in many local civic organizations as well as serving a term on Watertown City Council. He has been in the flooring and window treatment business for over 35 years. Besides sales and service, he still does a great deal of the flooring and window coverings installations himself.
