Without actually having my fiancé’s suit in hand, this place defiantly gets five stars already.
We walked in one Saturday afternoon after I found them online with the intention of looking for ideas to mull over later since my fiancé didn’t really know what look he was going for.
Not only did John M size him perfectly by eye, he also picked out a sweet looking suit based on the few words my fiancé was able to throw around to the look he was thinking of. The store itself is everything you want it to be; old school. The suits and other men’s clothing items in the store are of very good quality and though we ended up spending a good chunk of change; it was worth it.
The cherry on top is when we headed out to pick up the suit a week later after it got tailored. We encountered a ‘hand written — on stationary — in an envelope — hand delivered to our doorstep’ note from John M saying he ended up changing the suit size for a better fit and the tailoring would take a little longer. Um, so freakin nice.

I have been wearing the suit a couple times recently during interviews, as I do not wear a suit for my current job. In an «extended test drive» of wearing them for half a day, walking around, I’ve noticed the pants are not portionally correct. I had asked for the pants to made slimmer and shorter, which is more the style today. The pants are hemmed where I had asked, but the lower end of the pants are too big, causing it to look odd and they swish due to the additional leg. While the jacket is great, I am going to need to have the bottom of the pants redone.

I have been a customer of Eastern Clothing for many years. They are basically the only game in town when it comes to fitting the «hard to fit guy» and they are tremendous at that. I an a 48S suit and buying off the «rack» at any major retailer is out of the question. For the most part, I have dealt with «young» John and he has always taken great care to help me choose great clothes (suits, jackets, shirts, pants) and always offers his opinion on the latest trends. I have always received great service and the tailors who work there are the best. I highly recommend Eastern Clothing

I will not buy anything at this store again. I decided to try out Eastern Clothing on a visit to some relatives in the Boston area. I cannot usually find a suit that fits me at the department stores. Anna was my sales person. She first tried to fit me with a 40 L even though I told her up front what size suit jacket I wear The store had a larger number of 40 L suits in stock. When she finally started showing me suits in the size that fit me the best, I only had 2 suits to choose from. One was $ 750 and the other was $ 490. Since the suit costing over $ 700 was more than I could afford and it looked too loud with very wide stripes over navy blue fabric, I chose the lower priced suit. The pants were 2 sizes too big however Anna assured me they could shrink them to fit me. When I returned for the suit, one of the owners assisted me in trying it on. All looked OK to me and he did not notice anything amiss. When I tried it on for my family, they noticed some issues including a shiny mark on the back of the suit likely caused by the hot press or an iron. The cuffs had small holes around them and some areas with broken threads that could become bigger holes with time. When I brought the suit back to have the owners look at it, they started accusing me of making the holes in the cuff even before I took the suit out of the bag. I kept insisting that they look at the damage themselves before accusing me and even after looking at the holes they still accused me. I kept insisting that they replace the coat with holes in the cuffs and the senior owner said he would only repair it and he told me clearly to never come back to the store. This was the first time I had ever been accused of damaging an item that I am returning as defective.

I worked with Anna there several times now for tailoring but most recently I was looking to custom make a suit for my wedding but we couldn’t find the right color. I ended up picking something else up and went back to them for tailoring. Even though I did not purchase from them, she did not take offense and still gave me the continued excellent service that I received prior. Thank you Anna for all your help. I will tell my friends that you guys are the people to go to for their tailoring and suiting needs.

Wow. These guys saved my you-​know-​what.
This morning, I woke up and put on my suit. Then I realized I had no black shoes. I had left them in Chicago. Those of you familiar with New England geography will know that Chicago is not even in NE, and so I was in a pinch. To make matters worse, I had an interview across town in 40 minutes.
I hit Unilocal (so that’s what «open now» is for…), found the reviews (all 5 stars from longtime customers) and the phone number. Called from my car while hauling across Somerville in their direction, and asked if they had size 11 mens shoes, in black, and if they’d please pull them out for me *ahem* now-​ish.
When I ran through the door, a chair a few pairs and a shoehorn were waiting with the gentlemen that answered the phone. One of the pairs was perfect, fit great. I handed them my credit card, they swiped and I ran.
Made it to the interview with about 2 minutes to spare. Total time at Easter Clothing Company: ~60 seconds… still the best service I’ve ever had buying clothes.

John and John are the best in the business. I drive a great distance to come to Eastern. I am a short thin man (5’5 155lbs) and they always have the right size and cut for my size. The ladies in the tailoring area are amazing and they will make the suit look custom made. I will not go anywhere else in America to buy a suit

I have not been here in years, but my husband LOVES this place. The suits always look great and he looks fantastic on a well fitted suit.
On another topic, service — My littest boy was going to be in a wedding party in NY and he needed to be measured and have the measurements sent to the shop in NY. I ran into John A. and he said come in anytime. He was not there, but the person who was was so polite and professional — not only did he do the measurements, he called the store in NY for me to give it to them.

Lets get to it then … the men in my family, Dad, Uncles, brothers, and more brothers, have been shopping at Eastern Clothing Company of Watertown MA (some of them) since before I was born.
This spring my ever growning 23 year old brother needed something snazzy to wear to a Christening. John Airasian, part owner and ever present and accomodating, was there to help and fit my brother to perfection.
While I waited for the fashion show (my brother), I busied myself with looking at the wall of FAME that is so proudly displayed. Lots of Red Sox players and their managers shop here and you’ll see their signed pix on the «Eastern Clothing WALLS of FAME». It’s a lot of fun to peruse and goes back many years.
If you check the website
you’ll see that this family has pioneered the athletic cut suit. Everyman who is any man comes here for the dressed to knock ‘em dead look that looks soooo good on those sculpted athletic bodies. And John Airasian knows first hand, he’s a committed runner himself and sells those custom tailored suits well just by being himself.
Not into sports? Well tall and lanky will look AMAZING once John’s tailors get through with you. My younger brother, T and L, looked great in the selections suggested for his body type.
Have older family members that need a more roomy suit coat? Not to worry … these tailors are wizards in the art of perfection!
