We stayed here 2 nights in October. The motel had a beautiful view of Seneca Lake. It is an older place but well kept and clean. The room was large with 2 double beds and 2 rocker recliners. We had a handicapped room with a roll-in shower. The room had a microwave, refrigerator, and a coffee pot. There was a continental breakfast in the lobby area. Also it is pet friendly. I would stay here again the next time we are in the area.

My mom rented this lodge for three nights during the Finger Lakes Wine Festival. After a four hour drive from the Philadelphia area, this place was a sight for sore eyes. It was very accommodating for the three of us, especially since my brother is in a wheelchair and requires handicap accessibility. The beds were soft and comfortable, the décor was welcoming and nice, and the tv had a variety of channels. The AC worked well which was nice since it was super hot outside. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the shower. There was a very fine line between scalding hot and freezing cold, so it was very difficult to find a comfortable temperature. And the water pressure was almost nonexistent. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay!

Second visit October 12 – 14, 2013. Still no complaints! Wonderful staff, great accommodations in the Manor(Room #7 this time – that whirlpool tub is to die for!) and the season première of The Walking Dead on a 60″+ TV while sampling some local wine. You really can’t beat this place!

We’re just wrapping up a four-night stay at the motel. It’s been great. The staff has been very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room is just what we needed: clean, roomy, mini-fridge, coffee maker, nice flat-screen TV, a/c unit, comfy beds. The outdoor pool is HEATED! Even morning swims after nights in the 50s are comfortable. Rocking chairs are outside each room. Breakfast is coffee/tea, mini donuts, bagels, English muffins, OJ, peanut butter, cream cheese, butter and jelly. The motel is about two miles outside Watkins Glen, right on the Seneca Lake wine trail. It’s been a perfect base camp for our stay in the Finger Lakes. If we vacation in the Finger Lakes in the future, I’d be happy to stay here again. It’s not luxurious, but it’s way beyond adequate for a family holiday.

I have a lot of fond memories of Longhouse Lodge. The co-op where I used to live at Cornell had our orientation trip here every year, and we spent many hours rocking in the rocking chairs on the front porch, or watching one of the free VHS selections(mostly greatest hits of the 90s) while packed into someone’s hotel room. The free continental breakfast in the morning, pretty much bagels, juice, and coffee, is also a nice touch. Longhouse Lodge is nothing fancy, but the reason we come back year after year is that it’s consistently cheap, available, and clean. They’re also very kind and accommodating to a big group of college students, and have always treated us with respect rather than regarding us with suspicion. We also love the proximity to beautiful Watkins Glen State Park. Definitely recommended for a simple, reliable night’s rest.
