Bagel Cafe & Bakery

Every time I stay in Pajaro for some R&R, I stop at the morning bakery and grab a soft, chewy delicious bagel. Semi dumpy place, but put that aside, semi dumpy places can be fun and inviting. The bagels are softer and chewier than your bagel chains, that’s for sure.
They make a great, not to sweet, berry banana smoothly, love it.
Their breakfast sandwiches are warm, fresh made and are delicious. Ask for a Mexican hot chocolate, yummy.

I’d rather eat pre packaged bagels. Save your time and money and get bagels at Nob Hill. They taste so much better.
Their turkey sandwich is pretty good but not good enough to make up for their horrible customer service.

I’ve been here a total of five times since I moved to Watsonville about 6 months ago. In my first week I was looking for a breakfast place where I could be a regular. Bagel Café was closest to where I’m living, so I gave it a try. I remember there being a looooong line (both for express and regular service) and it being ages before I got my food. When my food came up, another customer mistakenly grabbed it and then handed it back AFTER opening it. The employee at the counter then called out the order and handed the bag to me, with the now poorly wrapped bagel in there.
The bagel itself was mediocre. I didn’t care so much that its a different texture (more bread-​y than bagel-​y), but they totally skimped on the spread. It also didn’t satisfy my hunger. Conclusion: Not worth the money I spent on it.
I visited four more times since then, each time hoping that I’d have a better experience (only one of those experiences was good), until this week when, I decided I’d had enough and should just stop trying with this place.
I walked in at around 10 am. It was a weekday morning so there was no rush and no line. I stood at the regular counter (not the express counter) and waited a bit. No one came to take my order, or asked if i’d been helped, or even so much as greeted me. I walked over to the cakes to see what they had and then walked back to the counter and waited. There were at least 3 employees present. One of them (finally) says, «Hi, can I help you?» except she was looking around as she said it and walked away right after she said that, without taking my order. I thought it was totally odd and disrespectful. So I just walked out.
I really wanted to like this place. Of the three other times I’d been here, one was a great experience with a smiling employee and my food coming out fast, the other two times were blah, not great, not bad. I really really wanted a place close by that I could count on for when I really didn’t want to make breakfast myself and become a regular where I could get to know the people. But this one is NOT it.

I really don’t understand all the Bagel Café hate. Their pastries and bagels are superbly delicious! And their cakes exceed expectations in flavor and appearance. I come here all the time and there is always a line– despite these negative reviews, that should tell you something. People still love and want to eat there because it’s GOOD! Sometimes service is rushed but I always get a smile back when I offer one first– maybe people aren’t getting smiles with their service because they aren’t being nice to the employees! Just a thought! (:
Can’t wait to come back for breakfast again and again! I do love my Powerhouse bagels! Yum yum yum!

Totally great bagels and sandwiches. outdoor dining, smoothies salads etc etc great service. open from 8am to 7pm.

This cozy spot is a great place for breakfast. They have really unique flavor available and all for an affordable price. They also have some amazing yogurt smoothies which i definitely recommend. They aren’t too sweet but perfectly smooth. I had a Raspberry Banana. Sometimes it can take a while to get your order in since there is usually a line, i reccomend calling order ahead.
P. S. They also have cheap day old bread which I think is awesome!

I hate to give such a bad rating but it is less of a bagel and more of a starchy piece of bread. My dog liked it but he isn’t that picky. I won’t be back but I do like real bagels.

Their hours say they close until 9pm. I drove by yesterday at 8:42 and they were already closed. Maybe they should change their close time to the correct closing time. Really good bagels and coffee though, that’s if you can get to them while they’re open.

Went in to get some bagels for the team at work. The lady that helped me had a very unpleasant face and gave me attitude when I ordered stating I was in the wrong line. You could clearly tell she didn’t want to be there. Apart from that, half of my order was wrong, so I called the store manager and literally all she said was «ok, I’m sorry, thanks for telling me» like really? Are you not going to at least offer to fix my order? I’m a somewhat regular customer here, and apart that it’s always busy and they have poor customer service this was the last straw for me, I refuse to support a local store where I’m not valued as a customer.

This place was busy… But service is fast and served with smiles!
Fresh, fresh, fresh! Good bagel sandwiches.

We haven’t been here for a year so we thought we’d give them another try. I was looking for something with strawberries and whipped cream but they didn’t have anything like that today, so I went with some pastries instead.
I got their bear claw, almond crossaint, blue berry crossaint and black berry turn over.
The almond crossaint was ok. Th crossaint was buttery, moist on the inside and flakey on the outside but they put very little almond filling on the inside. Disappointing.
The bear claw seemed like it was the same crossaint dough but denser with a filling I’ve never had before. It wasn’t the traditional almond and brown sugar but a poppy seed filling that didn’t taste like anything.
The black berry turn over wasn’t quite done. The puff pastry was raw in the center.
The blue berry crossaint was better than the rest. Big and fluffy with some blue berry filling.

The one star is for the bagels, smoothies and location. Everything else is very dissatisfying in particular the rude customer service. I have been coming here for the past two years and every single time I have ordered an item from the menu I get an extremely impatient, low life, negative worker! This is unacceptable and ruins my breakfast, lunch or snack experience. I will not be returning until the nasty attitude staff is replaced!

Whenever I go by this place there is always a line and I DO NOT get it! The staff seemed fine (if a little bored) and the place is tidy and all, but their bagels are just… not good. In fact, they are pretty much hamburger buns — big and fluffy and full of air. For a food that’s in the name of your restaurant, I would have assumed they would at least be decent!
I gave them a second try, figuring maybe people were there for the pastries. I got a peanut butter cookie which somehow managed to be undercooked in the middle, and crispy to the point of being overcooked on the outside. I ended up composting most of it…

This little café has nice people working here, but do not go and expect to find a bagel. The things they sell are soft bread things. They’re not very good, and you might not be content if you were expecting bagels that stays firm and chewy when it’s toasted. The bakery goods are pretty awful too. Too heavy, not very tasty, just a lot of color and sugar. I think they can make espresso though.

I really like this place! It’s in a good location and there is always enough parking. It can get crowded really easy so finding the right time to go is pretty tough.
I always order the strawberry bagel with cream cheese. You can tell the bagels are freshly made and when it’s toasted it makes it more amazing! I also love their cookies. They are a bit pricey 2.00 for one cookie, but I feel like they are worth it. They are delicious!

The bagels are big and bready, not quite as chewy as your regular bagel. That being said, they are delicious. They come with an inch of your favorite topping, so be prepared for that. There are plenty of flavors to choose from and they are always soft and fresh. I personally love the superseed, cinnamon sugar, and plain ol’ plain.
Don’t bother going from 6:30−8am any day of the week! Weekends are super packed and you’ll be waiting for. ev. er. Also, you will almost always get attitude from the ladies behind the counter. Best to get in before the rush and know exactly what you want when you arrive.

5 stars for the salads when I can actually get one. Half the time I go in, they are gone so I leave empty handed. I don’t understand why they aren’t supplied all day. As others have pointed out, staff seems to «not care» and have somewhat of an attitude.

I love this place for their fruit tarts and their bagels. But everytime I go, I always get an attitude from the cashier. I’ve experienced it with most of them. I’ve noticed they don’t have patience with customers that can’t decide what they want. I don’t know if it’s the pay or just them that makes them the way they are.

This is the worst-​tasting coffee and bagel I’ve ever tasted! I had to scrape off most of the cream cheese because they didn’t pay attention when I asked for just a little cream cheese, and then I ended up throwing away my bagel and coffee because they tasted so gross. I would advise avoiding this place if I were you!

I love the strawberey orange yogurt delight… But im disappointed that when I was here last night the girl helping me and the rest of the ppl was being so rude and talking to mexican community like if she was better and fed up with her job. I told one of the girl what happened today. I hope something gets done is really a dissapointment that we are paying to be helped and the workers take it the wrong way. I myself know what is like to work behind a register and having a bad day is not an excuse to act like el diablo/​devil
