M & M Party Rentals

Beware of hidden charges! After being a long-​time customer of over 30 years, we will not be going back. We ordered 3 round tables and 35 chairs for a shower in late September. We added 2 tables and 5 linens to our order within 10 days of the event which was scheduled for October 16. We then attempted to cancel two of the tables and linens the next day after ordering them and were told we would be charged full price anyway for restocking fees even though they hadn’t even been pulled yet. We attempted several times to contact the owner who apparently was the only one who could help us. She never called us back. We were never advised of this policy when we made the order in the phone. Additionally, there is a 25% restocking fee for items canceled more than ten days prior to pick up. The clerk we spoke to on our final attempt to contact the owner was unprofessional, sarcastic, rude and basically accused my wife of lying about our history as customers. It was a very unsettling conversation for both my wife and I. I wish the owner would have called us in order to resolve this. Alexis Party Rental is our choice from now on.

Hired M&M to decorate our reception hall for our wedding at Chaminade in July 2014. They did a great job and had great pricing on the uplighting and draping we asked them to do. The price was less than half of what other vendors (such as Eventscapes) had quoted. On the day before the wedding I went to see what it all looked like and found the uplight colors to be different from what I had asked for. Since the owner of the company was there working on it in person she was able to get it all corrected and on the day of our wedding everything looked spectacular. The reason I’ve given four stars instead of five is that in the beginning of the process communication was a bit rough. The owner of the company doesn’t seem to be too up on email, so her response times left something to be desired. In the end, this didn’t end up being much of a problem.

Communication was only a minor issue. We wish it had been easier to confirm a few details prior to the event. But overall, the items were great, delivered and picked up in a timely manner. We would use them again.

I assisted a wedding at Mt. Madonna a week ago and worked with the owner, Marsha who was so helpful and accommodating. The quality and pricing was very affordable. I had asked for the delivery to be at 9am sharp and the driver came about 15 – 20 minutes before 9am which was so helpful. He helped me set the tables upright and was great to work with. Happy experience and I recommend M&M for shabby chic décor!

My husband and I used M &M Party Rentals for our beach wedding in Santa Cruz over the past Memorial Day weekend and couldn’t have been more pleased with the results!
We worked closely with Marsha (the owner), and her enthusiasm and attention to detail was top-​notch. Marsha nailed every single detail we wanted for our wedding rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception and made all the stress of planning such an event SO much easier. Her staff were all friendly and super accomadating and were life-​savers in terms of delivering all the items we had rented and even helped set up!
Of all the various vendors and coordinators we worked with for our wedding, M &M Rentals was hands down the most efficient and pleasurable to work with. We HIGHLY recommend this place for all your planning and rental needs for whatever event you might be hosting. Marsha is absolutely wonderful to work with and her passion and creativity in what she does is only paralleled by the amount of pride she takes in her work.

We rented all our wedding dishes and linens from them. They’ve always been helpful and super nice. The new store is awesome! Really big with lots of interesting and unique party supplies for every occasion!

M & M party rental is the best! I ended up having to use them because the other décor company was way over my budget! When I called them to get a price quote on dance floors they quoted me $ 350, while the other company wanted $ 800 for the same size. They were so accommodating and made everything so easy! They even supplied the same linens for half the cost of what the other company wanted. When my wedding went longer than expected they even waited an additional hour to collect everything. Everything looked beautiful!

We hired them for a 100– person wedding. They were helpful and polite to work with, and have a great selection.
I took off two stars because most of the dinner plates we had were worn and looked old. This was very disappointing to me and to be honest, I would not have used their service if I had known. That being said, when I brought the issue to their attention, they discounted our order and told us they would get rid of the plates. They said they were unaware of the quality issue.
I appreciated it, I just wish there hadn’t been an issue to begin with.

After having received mediocre to bad service from the other party rental place in town we decided to try M&M Party Rentals. I am so pleased with how nice and friendly and helpful everyone is at this shop! And now that we are in their system we can just call up on the phone, talk to them about what we need, and reserve items to pick-​up. And the drop off is a breeze! Plus, they have a larger/​better selection of party rental items, like chafing dishes, serving bowls, coffee makers, etc. I am now definitely a regular customer at M&M!

after dealing with bitches like Helga** i guess anyone with a beating heart would be considered helpful. we found this place through Heidi (our GPS)
well we walked into the store and it seemed small yet PACKED with EVERYTHING from baby stuff, to wedding favors, and themed parties. we were told to look at the book in the back. they had a variety of canopies and even stuff i never thought about renting (margarita maker) for our wedding. when we were done we sat with Marsha.
WOW. i mean WOOOOOOOOWWWWZERS! she was our little wedding planner for free. she sat and went over colors and had a work sheet and wrote everything down for us, even the things that we werent going to rent from her just so we could keep track of everything. she even went over stuff that the caterer shouldve covered! she didnt rush us even though the store was getting pretty busy. she was thorough without being pushy. her prices are pretty reasonable on rentals, and out the store stuff was SUPER cheap! although for the service she gives you, its TOP NOTCH!!! we went from wanting to punch the last lady we dealt with at the last place to wanting to give Marsha a fat wet kiss!!!
if you want to do ANY party planning or rentals in the surrounding area, come here. even if you just sit and talk to her. your time and money will be spent well here! =)
