Great food for a great price. Quick service. Authentic Mexican food and not to many places like this in the Chicago area. This a place you will want to stop by to try.

This place has good food! Be warned though its tiny and cramped. This was a typical taco joint with a good assortment of items to choose from. They had homemade horchata which puts them up one extra star on my book. If you can get your order to go because its rather tight inside. Food comes out pretty quick and they do have a drive through. If in the area and needing tacos, I would go again.

Their chicken is the bomb… but sometimes their cashier have an attitude and you gotta b careful with bones in the chicken. Their pico de gallo is awesome and their mac&cheese and their beans and their rice… OMG

You will smell the grilled chicken before you enter. That baits you in. I was pleasantly greeted by the order taker who spoke some English but was easy to understand. The food speaks for it self. This has to be the best fast food ever. The chicken fell off the bone and the rice and beans look ordinary but were very flavorful. I got the 3 piece which was more than enough. It left me wanting more. This small place is truly a hidden gem. It’s unfortunate for me as I was just passing thru.

The nachos were great, caution there’s more veggies than cheese — more like a salad. The cheese enchiladas with mole sauce was prepared in 10 minutes and with fresh ingredients. Helpful service, note that the primary language is Spanish but this created more authenticity. Location is in a medium sized strip mall but very clean. Room to improve: more spacious seating and more comfortable cushioned chairs.

El Rey del Pollo Asado is a rare and unique treasure! The grilled chicken is out of this world. By far the best chicken you’ll get anywhere in Lake or Kenosha counties. It’s that good. This past Friday(October 23rd), I stopped in for lunch. I’ve never ordered anything other than the grilled chicken meal. Today, I decided to mix it up a bit. So I ordered a Torta. Of course I chose the torta with grilled chicken meat. It was delicious. For $ 6.60 I had a Torta, beans, rice, and a fountain drink. If you haven’t been here, you are missing out!

If you ever drive down Greenbay road and get a whiff of a delicious smell it’s El Rey Del Pollo. I usually get the chicken family meal and it’s so filling. The prices are good and it’s delicious. The wait for the food is a bit long but it’s worth it. I tend to order over the phone so I went I get there it’s already done.

This place is a MUSTVISIT for me. It’s a, «WHATEVERYOUDOEATHERE» type of place. Your mouth starts to water from the parking lot. You can smelled the chicken grilling and it smells amazing. You walk in and it smells even better. I got one steak taco, one chicken taco and one al pastor taco. Some of the best al pastor I’ve ever had. Would eat here everyday if I could.

Among lovers of Mexican and Central American food, this place is an institution. It’s a classic hole-in-the-wall occupying a former(old school) Taco Bell but the similarity to(gringo food) Taco Bell ends there. The specialty is chicken – don’t order anything beef cause they cook it scratch and it can take 20 minutes to get your order. The portions are huge, the food is first quality. I’m calling Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives ’cause this place deserves a spot on the Food Network.

Ive come here a few times after the smell of grilled chicken pulled me in from Midas were I get my car serviced. Best melty well spiced grilled chicken ive ever had, come here once and chances are you won’t stop. Lunch special gets you 2 pieces of grilled chicken and some sides for under $ 7, I’ve only tried their dark meat so only judge me off that :)

Hand’s down, best grilled chicken I have ever had. If you can make it during the lunch hour on weekdays, you’ll even be able to get the chicken or another combination for like $ 7 with a drink. This is a great find; I wish I hadn’t written this place off for song long just because its exterior looks like some weird offspring of a Pizza Hut/Taco Bell.

I Unilocaled and found this place when I didn’t want a fast food lunch and was I happy I stopped. The lunch specials are fantastic and I got the two piece chicken meal with a side taco and they were amazing. The price of the special made me feel like I was short changing the owners. The chicken was fresh, moist and delicious. The only reason for four stars and not five is the bathroom is located outside the building which creeped me out at first. The food is wonderful. Mainly a Latino crowd but very welcoming, friendly and the food is outstanding. It was like getting a meal at home for under $ 10 that was pretty good for you.

In sweatpants and mismatched socks, in the drive-thru of El Rey del Pollo Asado anticipating my grilled chicken with extra order of salsas + onions, ready to head back home to some form of on-demand Internet streaming media and attacking my food like Patrick Star sounds like a wonderful, and much needed, Friday night.
