Fields Land Rover Service

If it were possible to give this dealership and service department negative stars I would they are not worthy of a star. This service department is run with incompetence. Specifically my vehicle was brought in with fault codes that were attributed to a repair that was done. Instead of going through the vehicle like a competent garage would they reset the codes in my Range Rover and said the problem didn’t come back… Less than two weeks later my vehicle had the same codes go off and now cascaded to a $ 2,700 repair. The service manager took no responsibility and inconvenienced me for over two weeks with not having it repaired. I was in fact told it would be repaired on a Thursday then told Friday then they figured out they installed the parts wrong and it went through the weekend. No apologies were given no offer for a rental during the repair and nothing but a complete hassle from top down to deal with. If you plan on investing in a vehicle a the price a Range Rover costs I suggest you look down the road to a different dealer than Fields they truly will make you regret the purchase.

My wife loves her Range Rover but I thought it was just a logo she was impressed with. She had a service appointment and I took it in this time… now I know why she loves Fields. Everyone was nice and quit to assist. After Bob (I think) was helping me and walked away to get me information, 3 more people asked if I was being helped. You can tell they care about the customer and not my wallet. Plus Ice Cream in the waiting room. Now I understand the Range Rover experience. Well done guys.

I am giving them one star because of the ridiculous experience I had there. I needed the back door fixed on my Land Rover and to make a long story short they screwed the back door up after they looked at it and ‘lubricated it.’
I complained with both a letter and by voice which led me to the personnel or service manager I can’t remember his title. Anyway, our first encounter was OK after he encouraged me to vent my feelings. Afterwords he gave me the option of fixing it for cost. I assumed this was what any good businessman would do as I am the owner of several successful enterprises and that’s what I would have done. My complaint was sincere and honest and I felt he met me half way and that that was very honorable for him to have done. If it were left alone that would have been a 4 – 5 star rating (if all worked in the end).
So I accepted and this is where it gets weird. Starting immediately and for the next 24 hours or so this ridiculous little man would not let it go. It’s as if he could not bear the sight of me «getting something for nothing» which of course was false since I still bought the part retail and it still wasn’t peanuts. He kept saying on and on how he didn’t believe they did anything wrong and so forth. He then went on to tell me the following day that if he had read the letter first he would never have given me anything and would have seen me in court (I said as much to him and everything else the letter contained the day before). As a side note if you do plan to take them to court if you feel they screwed you they have a policy that this man mentioned to me that they fight ALL OF THOSE THAT SECURE A LAWYER in court without question. Nice to know how shitty they feel towards a customer that threatens a suit usually legitimately. It sounds pretty routine that they are indeed sued.
When I picked up the car the next day this fool was angry and just short of hyperventilating. He had prepared his big retort for me in order to get me back since I kept verbally pounding him the day before and the pickup day. (You see he’s not a mental giant yet he tries so hard to be one.) I said hey buddy did you spend all night thinking that one up? I just got this look like how did he know? Duh!
What this tells me is we have a very insecure, jealous and just plain stupid service manager. Not really what you want when you may have thousands of dollars in repairs and wish to know if you are being ripped off or not. Incidentally the part malfunctioned within the week and it still is not working but I refuse to go back free or not. It’s simply not worth fighting with a mental midget.
Go somewhere else.
