Our practice is focused on Estate Planning (pre-​death) and Trust and Probate Administration (post death). Although we do not know when death or incapacity will come, we can prepare. We help families protect and preserve their assets. We recommend preparing documents in advance of one’s incapacity that appoint a person of your choice to handle your financial or medical affairs. If those documents have not been prepared, we can handle the court proceeding necessary to get someone appointed to make those decisions for you. After a death, we can assist with the transfer of assets through a probate or trust administration. To help assist our clients further we are also experienced in personal injury, real estate, marital property, divorce, and taxation.

History

Established in 1991.

My mother was a teacher and my father was an Attorney. I am the oldest of 9 children. Like my parents, I have always been a teacher and a problem solver. As a child, I spent a lot of time with my great aunts. When one of my aunt’s was unable to live alone, I coordinated 24 hour care for her in her home for 6 years. When I graduated from Law school, my father suggested I start my own business. I opened my own law firm in 1991. I became experienced in many areas of law. My husband and I have 4 children After my husband was diagnosed with cancer, in 2004, I restructured my practice to concentrate on helping others prepare for incapacity and death. My clients benefit from my legal and life experiences.

I have lived in Waukesha all of my life except when I was an exchange student to Australia and when I was at the University of Wisconsin Madison working on my undergraduate degree in Business Administration (with a double major in Real Estate and Finance). After College, I attended Marquette Law School.
