Mon, Wed, Fri 10 – 6; Sat 9 – 4; Tue, Thurs, and Sun By Appontment. Full service, PADI 5 Star Dive Center, specializing in Scuba Diving Lessons, snorkeling gear, and diving gear. Located in Central Wisconsin, we offer Scuba Diving Certification Classes from the beginning Open Water Class, through Divemaster Class. Courses and lessons are held throughout the year all around central Wisconsin. In addition to our scheduled group classes, we offer private and semi-​private classes to make it easy for everyone to be able to attain their Scuba Certification. PADI eLearning is also available for those with little free time or unpredictable schedules.

At our scuba diving shop, we carry a full line of Scuba equipment and Snorkel gear, including scuba regulators and masks. While we represent various manufacturers, we are a partner center with Aqualung and carry a large inventory of their products. We carry a full array of Deep See products, too.

We are an authorized repair facility for Aqualung, Sherwood and Atomic Scuba gear. Call us for more info.

History

Established in 1983.

Klein Scuba was founded by Phil Klein. Phil’s interest in diving began in the mid 70’s and was sparked by his older brother, who was already a diver. Phil loved diving and in order to get more involved, he decided to help the only local instructor with his classes. That continued for five years until that instructor decided to move to Florida. At that time, there were no other scuba instructors within several counties. So, Phil went to PADI College in San Diego and achieved his instructor certification.

Once Phil began his teaching career, he opened his first store in a shared a building with Fire Defense Supplies. Original plans for this location were to have a place to house the compressor and other equipment. This small store shortly phased into a full-​service dive facility. Klein Scuba was in that location for five years, then temporarily moved on to a different. On January 1, 1993, a brand-​new facility was opened, which is our current location in Wausau, WI.

Business Owner

Phil Klein began Klein Scuba in 1983. Phil has been in the Scuba industry for over 35 years and has certified over 2,000 students. His focus to Scuba Diving for so many years has made him an expert in various aspects of scuba to include equipment, travel destinations, gear repair, PADI Dive Certifications and more.

Phil is committed to sharing his passion for Scuba. He has partnered with the Boy Scouts of America, local YMCA’s and University of Wisconsin Marathon County in an effort to expose more youth and young adults to Scuba Diving. He also sponsors a local Venture Crew.
