Amazing little restaurant. The food was cooked to perfection, and the people who run it are delightful. I had been wanting to check this place because of all the good reviews. Since my friend was visiting from Seattle, we decided to be adventurous and take him there. He loved it, and so did we. A couple of things to know: *Go there when you want to have a leisurely meal and are not in a hurry. The food is cooked to order, so it can take a little longer than at other places, but it was not that long in my opinion. * BYOB. They do not sell alcohol, but they said you can bring your own. * Cash Only! We had to run to a nearby gas station and get cash out of the ATM. They were pretty cool about it, but better come prepared. Please visit Sardis Point Café, you will love it.

For sure the cutest and best place I have ever eaten at. From the outside its a cute little home looking place and the inside is just so cute and simple. The waitress is super friendly along with the owner. The food is AMAZING and fresh. I for the Rosemary pork loin with green beans and corn and it comes with a dinner roll. My mom got the filet mignon with a salad and green beans. We were both very happy and pleased. We also got the tres de leche cake to go and a ribeye steak. For sure happy with this place and if I ever visit Texas again I will for sure be coming here.

From the guy who had banana boat on 287 towards midlothian a long time ago. Great prices and FANTASTIC food! Best fried catfish ever! Crispy on the outside and SO moist on the inside! Everything truly is fantastic. Cash only, but it’s totally worth hitting the atm for this place!!! Highly, highly recommend

This place is an amazing hidden gem! You must note, however, that you cannot go in here if you’re looking for a quick meal. Be prepared to take your time, relax, and chat with the owner… who is also the server and the chef. He is a super friendly guy who spends some time getting to know you, which is nice. The place looks like a small converted house and is super cozy and comfortable. The menu is not very extensive, but there were quite few specials listed on the board. I ordered the shrimp Diablo with Bok choy and roasted potatoes and my coworker ordered the Rosemary pork loin with the same sides. The food looked amazing and tasted even better! Not to mention the amount of food we were each served. For myself, I received 6LARGE shrimp wrapped in bacon with jalapeño. I was full halfway through, but it was so good that I cleared my plate. This place was amazing. I loved everything about it! I rarely give a place 5 stars, but this place more than deserves it. I would come back here again in a heartbeat.

One of the most unique restaurants we have ever been to. Just as the other reviewers say, don’t let the building fool you. The owner is the cook, the host, and the waiter… and a really nice guy! We had the steak & lobster and the Rosemary pork loin. Simply delish! We will dine there again when we are back in the area.

If you’re tired of the cookie cutter, chain restaurants, you’ve gotta try this place. I wish more places like it existed. The atmosphere is eclectc, yet so comfortable, I feel like a guest in someone’s home. Our waitress is ABSOLUTELYLOVELY. The food was actual, recognizable food, like chicken breasts, potatoes, and spinach. I wouldn’t recommend it to snooty folks, but I feel I have been let in on a secret. 5 stars don’t do it justice.

Sardis Point Café is a hidden little gem in the Waxahachie area. It is eclectic, no hurry, enjoy life type of restaurant, well worth the short drive. Mushrooms florentine was chosen as an appetizer. We ended up fighting over who got the last bite. For entrees we had sirloin steak, shrimp Diablo and CFS and split them three ways. I couldn’t make up my mind which one was the best! We had side dishes of fried potatoes, bok choy, corn, rice and sauté spinach. Each was well prepared and delightful. The staff were fun and helpful. Great food, personable staff, reasonable prices and cool décor brought smiles all around. Try Sardis Point Café. You won’t be disappointed.

The wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident on our way to the BBQ place next door. The exterior is deceptive for its appearance of a small house. Inside, the décor is that of an antique shop. I was surprised to find that the owner was none other than Joe who previously ran the Banana Boat and New York New York restaurants. Both of his former restaurants had great food and this restaurant is no exception. I had the serloin steak and my wife had the chicken fried chicken. both were tasty and tender. Service is laid back as Joe is both the cook and the host so if you are pressed for time go elsewhere. We shared a table with one of the locals and had a delightful conversation with the meal. We will definitely be back. Note: Cash only.

We just had dinner here for the first time and it was really good! We’ve passed by many times but never ventured to try it until reading several positive Unilocal reviews. The folks are super friendly and the dinning area felt like I was eating at a relatives home. We ordered chicken fried steak and grilled chicken breast. Sides were sautéed green beans and sautéed potatoes, French fries and Texas toast. It was all very good! We will be back!

The place is very rustic, but clean. I had the chicken fried steak it was good, but I really enjoyed the fried potatoes and mushrooms. Strawberry cheese cake for dessert. Stayed a while and talked with Joe the owner, cook and server. I will come back to try the steaks. The food is made to order, so be patient, it will be worth it!

I just moved to Waxahachie, heard about Sardis Point and was in for a pleasant surprise. There was enough on the menu to please my son, grandson and myself. I will return to this quaint restaurant and look forward to being greeted by Joe, the owner. The food was excellent.

Byron and I went to Sardis Point Café because of the nice reviews. The property is a nice little home with plenty of parking out front. Once you get inside, the ambiance is low lighting and feels like you are having dinner with friends. .and you are! Byron ordered fish and it looked yummy. I opted for a combination of shrimp scampi and stuffed jalapeños. All of the food was fresh, served hot, and tasted amazing! Sardis will be a weekly visit for us! Reasonable prices and great food not to mention Joe, the chef and owner is just awesome!!! Take a drive and go there… you will be pleased!

Visited today for the first time thanks to some great reviews on here and we’re not let down. Joe came off as a great guy and his cooking was awesome! The atmosphere is definitely unique, but in the best kind of way! Located in an old house with all sorts of interesting nick nacks hanging up. The chicken fried steak that I had was great, could possibly use a little more seasoning(but maybe I’m just too addicted to salt) but the breading was perfectly crispy and the steak inside was good and thick! My wife had a cheeseburger which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. Definitely recommend for an interesting night out! Also, Joe mentioned that he DOES take credit cards now, but being a small business, I would preferably take cash or check with me. We paid by check as we had no cash, but paying with credit cards causes the business owner to pay fees, so we were more than happy to whip out the checkbook… It may only be 3% or so but every little bit helps for a small business!

Met at the location and was skeptical when we pulled up, put was pleasantly surprised once the door was opened and we were Welcomed in by owner/operator. Hade a couple of appetizers and pleasantly changed to Happy. Happy turned into Ugh I ate to much. Never judge a book by its cover. A must try if you are in the area!

OK this place is sooo freaking cool and so good I’m surprised its not packed every night. Joe the owner is super friendly and will do most anything you ask cooking wise. He has been in the industry for years. He previously owned the banana boat in Midlothian, New York, New York and Jose Roses in DeSoto if you know of those places. You need to bring a check or cash which is no problem with me and you can also bring your favorite beer, wine or any other adult beverage you like which saves you some $$. The wife and I brought a great bottle of wine, I had the Shrimp diablo which was fantastic along with potatoes and spinach. The wife had filet Mignon with french fries and green beans. It was all very good and flavorful. We actually met some neighbors we didn’t know that have lived right around the corner from us for 10 years there and hung out for a good two and a half to three hours talking with them and Joe. What a great night it was. If you live in Ellis County and are as sick of all the lame restaurants like we are you will be so happy with this place. I will be back probably at least once a week if not more from now on. Thank you Joe for all you do!

My wife and I are driving home after a fantastic dinner at this establishment. Walking in the door we were immediately greeted by Joe McGee. Joe is the owner of a this small hidden gem. My wife and I both ordered a burger and we were not disappointed. There was a very large tomatoe that tasted like it was just pocked and cut. Also try his cheese sticks, he said he makes those too and boy oh boy was it good. The décor was so cool, old news papers detailing the death of Bonnie and Clyde and lots of old vintage navy recruiting posters. If you are looking for an upscale, quick and satisfying experience then just keep driving. This place was a laid back, relaxing, great tasting, fantastic experience. This is a must for any couple wanting a nice meal and pleasurable experience. FYI– this is a BYOB café that only accepts cash or check and it is so worth every single dime!

We just finished. I had sautéed tilapia with sautéed potatoes and green beans, Susan had grilled tuna steak, assorted vegetables and sautéed potatoes. Mine was delicious as expected and Susan says it was the best food she has eaten in a long while. It is THAT good. We are sharing a chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Need I say more? Try it for yourselves. You will not be disappointed!!!
