May’s Tailoring

I just had a new beautiful Canali Suit, a Ralph Lauren Sport Jacket, and two pair of Hart, Schaffner and Marx paints tailored at May’s. What an amazing job she did. May is a genius with garments. I would not trust anyone else with my clothing. And, in addition to her craftsmanship, she is so honest. I receive an itemized receipt with final bill that shows everything she did on each garment and how much each step cost. I told her I do not need this but she said she wanted to be sure I knew exactly what she had done and the cost. Someone once said,“Your relationship with your tailor is like the relationship with your wife. It must be built on trust. And, trust May, I do.

My family and I have been going to May’s for several years. Her attention to detail for big and small jobs can’t be surpassed. Although I don’t live in the area I bring all of my tailoring needs to May when visiting family. She has made me custom shirts that I always get complements on, in addition to doing many other tailoring items very satisfactorily. Her pricing might be a little high depending on projects, but you totally get what you paid for! great long lasting quality. I noticed there is a competitive tailor writing bogus reviews about May, under alias Unilocal ids, this is disgraceful and and ungrounded. If it continues, I will post who the alias is. Please disregard those reviews and check out May! Thanks!

May’s Tailoring is one of the best in town. Very professional, on time, reasonably priced etc. The work quality is very commendable and I am very happy with the work May has done with my jeans. I am going to go back again for more clothing alteration work in the future.

May is wonderful! She is such a personable person, loves what she does and really takes care of you. We have taken suits, pants and shirts. Every thing we have gotten back has been exactly as measured and had no issues after wearing the altered clothes.

May is an amazingly sweet and talented lady. She was very friendly and professional. I brought two work dresses to have tailored and she did a great job on both of them. She had them back to me very quickly and the pricing is very good for the quality of work she does. I will definitely be bringing more items to her for altering.

We just picked up a bridesmaid dress that was being altered and the dress was completely messed up. The hem was crooked and the lining underneath was not even with the hem. To make it even worse, she had the nerve to say that was what we asked her to do!!! Then, she still charged us 89.00 to release the dress to us so that we could take it now to another tailor to get it fixed.

I was charged $ 45 for a simple hem…
I thought May was so nice but was appalled at her prices.

Everyone in my family has been going to her for years and have trusted her with everything from simple pant hems to practically redesigning a dress from scratch. She can do anything you ask her and she is so friendly and pleasant to be around. I can only imagine that any poor reviews are the result of the competition next door playing dirty. May is the best!

May is an extremely talented tailor whom many have entrusted with their wedding gowns, academy ball gowns and Neiman Marcus purchases, formal dress wear and plain old jeans. We have used her services for the last 15 years and have NEVER been disappointed. Her immediate neighbor is also a tailor who has been posting negative ads on the Internet. The Radnor police have confirmed this. Talk about being a good neighbor!

This is by far the best tailoring experience I have ever had. Really surprised to see only 3 stars. I imagine the competition next door had something to do with this. May is kind and accommodating and has many years of experience. I will continue to go here as long as I live in the area.

The worst tailor I have ever been to. I took my $ 150 dress in for a simple hem and taking in. She slyly did not give me a definite estimate when I asked and instead assured me it would not cost much, promised to call me if the material was difficult and would be expensive to work with, and then ushered me out of her store with smiles. When I went to pick up my dress she tried to charge me $ 150 on the justification that the material of my standard chiffon dress had been difficult to work with. When I told her she never called me she said «oh that’s not how I do my business, people just pay me.» There was no reasoning with her, as she has overhead costs working out of her home and is raising children in their 30s. I left $ 75 and did not try my dress on until I was home with it. She hemmed it too long and slightly crooked and put a pinhole/​pull in the back near the eye hook, Not high quality work, not competitive prices, and not an honest business. Go somewhere else, anywhere else.

My husband went in to get a small hole in a pair of jeans patched and the seamstress quoted a price of 20 – 25 with delivery in a few days. When they were finally available a week later she charged 29. They look great on the outside (he finds the large extra fabric on the inside uncomfortable but that’s probably just the nature of getting jeans patched!) but I don’t understand why a firm price can’t be quoted when the problem (hole) is right in front of her, and why even the price range and time estimate she did quote weren’t honored. We’ll try a different tailor on «Tailor Row» next time.

Over priced and not good. Took 3 suit jackets there and now they fit worse and I paid $ 300 for it.

May is an AMAZING tailor! She took all of my suits and made them fit like a glove. I also had a bridesmaid’s dress that was two sizes too large and it came out perfectly.

May is an essential person to know. She does exacting work that demonstrates her pride in her craft. Beyond that, she’s a delight.
