Business Owner

Nicole Steinmeyer, M.S., CCC-​SLP is the founder and primary speech-​language pathologist of Speech Matters, LLC. Nicole earned her Bachelors degree in Speech and Language Disabilities from Elmira College in Elmira, NY, and her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA.

Nicole has experience working with communication difficulties resulting from a wide variety of disorders including autism, childhood apraxia of speech, hearing loss (including cochlear implants), expressive and receptive language impairments, articulation disorders, dysarthria, down syndrome, and learning disabilities.

Nicole believes in engaging children using verbal, visual, and tactile modalities and that empowering the child to take responsibility for their communication allows for quicker progress and achievement of goals. Nicole employs play-​based therapy that teaches communication while allowing the child multiple opportunities for practice in a fun environment.
