History

Established in 1976.

Dr. James R. Stone, D.D.S. has been serving children in Albemarle and its surrounding counties for over 30 years. He and his wife of 36 years, Barbara, have three wonderful children.

As a Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Stone is specifically trained to recognize and treat a broad range of dental health needs from infancy on. He will emphasize good oral hygiene, proper diet, fluoride treatments, sealants and other measures that contribute to lifelong dental health. In addition to treating children and teenagers, he is trained to provide care for special needs children and special needs adults.

All members of our staff are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS) and required to keep their certification active.

Dr. Stone is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Pediatric Dental Society, and the Virginia Pediatric Dental Society. In addition, Dr. Stone served as President of the Charlottesville Albemarle Dental Society and the Albemarle Rotary Club.

Dr. Stone received his Pediatric training at the University of North Carolina, acclaimed as one of the nation’s outstanding dental schools for dental education and research. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hunley for two years in Guam. He was one of three dentists on board serving twelve hundred men.
