American Karate combines the best techniques of Tae Kwan Do, Shoto Kan, Kung Fu, American Boxing, Judo, Ju Jutsu, and many other styles into the strongest most effective means of Self-Defense and Martial Arts Training available today. Established in 1972.
The Karate University has been owned and operated by 10th Degree Grand Master Bob Nuttall since 1972. Mr. Nuttall started teaching Karate in the 1960’s for the National Grand Champion Mr. J Pat Burleson at his Fort Worth studio.
Mr. Nuttall has been an active Martial Arts tournament fighter, full contact fighter, tournament promoter and has been on numerous Martial Arts Boards. On January 8th, 2013, Mr. Nuttall received his 10th Degree Grand Master promotion. The Mayor declared January 8th, 2013 to be Bob Nuttall Day in Weatherford, TX. The Declaration was read on the floor at the State Capitol in Austin, TX before being presented to Mr. Nuttall. Bob Nuttall has now taught and served three generations of Parker County citizens.

Grand Master, Bob Nuttall is a 10th Degree Black Belt who has been training in the martial arts since the 1960’s. He is a Master of American Karate and a recognized Master of Tae Kwon Do. Bob was one of the first full contact and point contact competitors in the United States where he proceeded to officiate, judge, and promote tournament events.
Bob continues to instruct thousands in self-defense and rape prevention through classes and seminars. He also instructs county, city, state, and federal law enforcement officials. His national karate exposure is comprised of multiple magazine, video, radio, and television appearances. Civic memberships include the Board of the American Heart Association, United Way, Parker County Nutrition Council, and Lions Club.
