Established in 1993.

In 1993 owner Michele Johnson’s vision of creating a peaceful sanctuary became a reality. When you enter our spa, you’re invited into our tranquil environment designed according to the principles of Feng Shui. We offer a full range of holistic treatments incorporating the ancient principle of using nature on your skin and in your body care. We utilize and sell only all-natural, chemical-free products.

Business Owner

My name is Michele Johnson, owner of Vitality Unlimited Spa located in historic Webster Groves, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis). Since I was young, holistic and natural health alternatives have been a part of my life. Not only was I raised in an environment that respected mother earth and the natural resources she provides, but holistic resources took on a whole new meaning to me when I experienced a concussion and was diagnosed with cancer at an early age. Because of my own experiences and wellness achievements using holistic methods, in 1984 I pursued a career as a nutritionist and licensed massage therapist so I could help others experience similar life altering benefits and feel a sense of empowerment over their health.

I contacted Vitality Spa several weeks ago to arrange for a spa party for my sister’s birthday. Since those attending the party had different needs and budgets, there needed to be some flexibility in the menu of services. The staff did a great job suggesting services that would suit lifestyles, age, budget and time constraints as we needed to be in and out in 2−½ hours to get to our next party destination. The spa is clean, relaxing, nicely decorated and the technicians and therapists were kind and professional. Everyone in our small group of five had a fantastic time. Thank you Vitality! I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend or book other services!

Just terrific experience — was visiting daughter for Parents Weekend at Washington University in St Louis and she was feeling down so between scheduled activities, they fit us both in for massage with hot stones add on. I have had many massages so I feel I can evaluate the experience against a broad backdrop of styles of massage. First, the ambiance was peaceful, very clean, rather spacious, and healthful. The oil was surprisingly, luxuriously light and yet super slidy… The body work was personalized and very targeted to clear areas of tension and pain. These are technically highly trained and experienced massage therapists— not just feel good massagers. And despite their interest in treating problems, they don’t work so aggressively that you are defending against painful sensations — they know how to make it therapeutic yet soothing. I felt so much energy release, as if my limbs were glowing … And so relaxed… I wish I lived close by to come back for a longer massage !! My daughter will be able to repeat visit, she took the card of her massage therapist.

Booked a party for my daughters bridal party. I don’t know if they just poorly planned it but half of the girls did not get what was in the package. They did discount the price. My session was great but the other girls where not that thrilled. Especially my daughter who was the bride. She was one of the girls who got shorted on their services and was very disappointed. The staff was not very personable. The person who was supposedly in charge, very young girl had very short shorts on and couldn’t answer a lot of questions I had about why things got botched. Was not really impressed.

I have been here twice recently for different services and i will share my experiences. First i went to see JoAnne for a reflexology session. First, let me say JoAnne is a lovely person and i enjoyed just talking with her and leaning her experiences. She is a treasure. She did reflexology on my hands and feet and explained as we went. It was truly amazing and she helped a couple of other problem areas identified by the rellexology. I cannot wait to schedule a full body massage with her.
Had a consultation with Bonnie for hair removal (not waxing) and she was fairly abrupt and almost condescending. She told me no less then about 4 times i had a lot of hair and so forth. Told me it would take a year or so of seeing her for final removal. I do not have a beard and didn’t care for her personality or approach at all. So I chose not to partake in her services. Her personality and approach make work for some, just not me.
Fortunately on the same visit that i saw Bonnie i had a facial scheduled with Mandy. She was lovely and personable. I very much enjoyed my time with her. I feel my skin is much brighter now. I even got a small sampler kit for cleaning my skin when i left. It is working wonders for my skin.
Oh and as far as parking goes, you can park in the lots for the church they share the lot. Or you can park on the street.

Vitality Unlimited Spa has everything you need for R&R, attention, and luxury. Go there for the best massage ever, JoAnne Guhman’s 90 minute heavenly therapy. She is absolutely amazing, her room so peaceful, her music so relaxing, and her hands and fingers that work like a piano concert. She does not forget your problem spots or your preference, and she is expert at finding you a relaxing scent. I love this spa for everything, and JoAnne is the best there.

I nice little spa in Webster Groves.
Thirty minutes of bliss for my aching back… by Christina. I look forward to my next visit. Perfect amount of talk about my lower back issue, and perfect amount of talk right at the beginning of the massage, and then total bliss.
There was NO sales pitch for any products that they offered, and their selection looks great, but I did receive a nice sample of topical pain reliever for my lower back and some tips on stretches.
As this was my first massage, I can’t comment on the price, but it seemed reasonable to me, and the Spa has a frequent visitor card. Yeah, I plan on being a frequent visitor. :-)

A massage or TREATment at Vitality is a must for me when I visit St. Louis. It’s in a lovely location in Webster Groves, the atmosphere is serene and the services are sublime. I make my way to Michele for these ridiculously amazing massages, as she finds parts on me I did not know existed! She seems to have an intuitive knowing on where my body needs repair! I also work with her on nutrition and health issues. I just love this place and always recommend it highly!

I received a gift certificate for a spa day from my husband. I chose to go to Vitality based on their website & that they are an «all natural» spa. The reception was friendly upon arrival & showed me the spa.
My massage was soooo relaxing! Definitely planning on more of those. I loved my facial & really felt the difference the next day after my peel.
They had my favorite OPI color for my pedicure & I liked that the nail room was private.
All in all, I can’t wait to visit again (and again!).

This was my first experience ever at a «spa.» I know, I know. I bought a Groupon for a facial peel because my skin sucks.
I figured it’d help out at least a bit and would be a relaxing and refreshing experience. Unfortunately, that was definitely not the case. If all facials are this stressful, I will NEVER get another one.
After thinking really hard, I can only come up with two positive things:
–It was easy enough to make an appointment via phone and they got me in quick. (now I know why they weren’t booked solid)
–My face did seem to be quite a bit smoother a few days after the facial peel.
The negatives definitely and unfortunately majorly outweigh the positives:
–The woman started out by telling me how clogged my pores were, that my acne was bad, and asked my why I still had acne at my age. Oh, yeah, let’s insult our clients and make them feel even more self-conscious about their blemishes. Great business & client-retention plan.
–On multiple occasions, the cloth on my face was suffocating me… seriously I couldn’t breathe for several seconds.
–It was anything but a relaxing treatment. The procedures were very rough and kept me all tense.
–The woman wouldn’t shut up during the facial. She kept talking about their products and my bad skin.
–Can you say UPSELL? No I do not want to upgrade my facial. And no, I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on your stupid products for my acne problem. Please, just stop talking about it. NO MEANS NO.
Needless to say, I will NEVER EVER go back.
It seems like people had success with the massages, but I’m not going to risk another very bad experience.

I enjoy Vitality Unlimited Spa and here is why:
1. It is close to where I live.
2. It is a spa like environment with prices that are in between your standard «nail shop» and face and the body.
3. Mandy is a fabulous, respectful, and pleasant nail technician. She also is FANTASTIC at facials.
4. The nail room is private and very calming.
5. They serve hot tea.

Ahhhhhhhhh. Christina Sweeny, I thank you for turning me into a warm, relaxed pool of bliss.
Does that sound too flowery? Nonsensical? I apologize, but my mind, muscles and worries were melted away by a really excellent two hour massage.
Yes. Two hours. I’m fairly sure that’s as close to heaven as you can get here on Earth.
I received two 1-hour massage gift certificates as a Christmas gift last year that I neglected to use until the month they expired (a year later. Being a new mom will do that to you.). The good people at Vitality Unlimited were happy to combine the 2 gift certificates so I could book a completely indulgent two-hour massage and man, I honestly don’t know if I can go back to doing just one-hour massages anymore.
Generally, I ask the therapist to focus on my neck, shoulders and back since, like most people, that’s where I carry my tension. Lugging a 25 lb. kid around doesn’t help much, either. :) So normally, my one-hour massages are *all* about those problem areas and the rest of me ends up fairly neglected. Not with the two-hour massage.
Christina started our session using a singing bowl to «align the right and left sides of my brain.» Some folks might’ve found this weird or maybe not even relaxing as she used the bowl along each chakra, but I really liked how it set the tone and created a space, signaling to me that I could leave my thoughts and worries and the world outside and just relax. Then, for one hour, she worked all those pesky, tight trouble areas and THEN, I got another hour of Swedish massage. Awesome.
When our session was over, I couldn’t believe 2 hours had gone by. In the calm, dim room, I had no idea what time of day it was. I think I drooled a little. Two signs you’ve had a really excellent massage.
Now, I think it’s important to note that my mom & step-dad are both massage therapists, so I’ve had my fair share of massages since I was 11-years-old. I’m confident in my assessments of who’s a good therapist and who doesn’t make the cut. So, I’m not just blowing smoke when I say Christina knows what she’s doing. I’ve found one other massage therapist that I love in St. Louis (Anne Thomasson), so I think I’m going to have to start saving my pennies so I can give both of them my business. Two hours at a time, preferably.

Okay — this is for sure my favorite place when I need some back work done. I am constantly having back pain and spasms, and they masseuses here make me feel like I am young again, which is sad to say since I am only 25 ;)
Their prices are perfect, and the staff is wonderful! If you need something right away, they can usually fit you in that day! Just it is around the holidays, valentine’s day or any other holiday where boyfriends and husbands might not know what to get their ladies — well your usually out of luck.
Their deep tissue is the best in town, hands down! I have been to almost every spa within a 20 mile radius of Saint Louis, and I would not go anywhere else. A+++++

I really enjoyed my trip to this little spa today. It’s a beautiful space with lots of interesting things in the retail area (which nobody pushed me to buy, thankfully).
The receptionist was very friendly and offered me a tour before my appointment. There is a room for mani/pedi, a room for facials, 3 massage rooms (I think), and a large room that can be used for spa parties. I’d thought they did hair also, but they don’t, which is fine, since that cuts down on the noise level. The whole place has a very tranquil feel to it.
The therapist did a thorough job with her consultation in the room before I undressed. Before actually starting the massage, she did some type of energy balancing or something with a singing bowl. It was interesting, if nothing else. The massage itself was great and really helped my achy feet and calves.
I had gone here with a Groupon, but I would definitely consider going back again.

Vitality has offered two Groupons in the last 6 months or so and I snagged the first one which was for a 60 minute Swedish massage. I’ve been saving it for the last 6 months for an occasion that really deserved a massage and the end of the school year was it! I was able to get an appointment immediately (they even had some same day appts available).
Pros:
— Massage therapist was nice. Talked to me before I got naked about problem areas, etc.
— Didn’t talk too much unless I talked to her.
— Clean, upscale look. Lots of products for sale — but they didn’t try to sell me any.
— Massage felt gooooood! And went the whole hour even though it started late!
— Lots of services offered! They let me try this «T-ZONE» machine, which is supposed to help you tone your body, for free.
Cons:
— Parking is a little weird. There are lots on either side but they are labeled for other businesses so I was afraid to park there. Had to park on the street (and that parking is limited).
— I wish she’d spent more time on my feet, which I said hurt!
— On the pricey side and may be hard to find for a non WG resident.
I’d definitely go back!
