It’s a really nice library. I spent several hours there on a Thursday and was very distracted by the conversations the librarians were having with each other in the middle of the library. I can’t say if this is a regular thing or not.

When I was a teenager I lived a few blocks from the Webster Groves Public Library. I can remember spending countless hours here studying and discovering great books. This library was definitely key to my intellectual development. I have many fond memories of exploring the stacks.

I love libraries. As someone who can devour a fat book in a day, buying books is dumb unless I really love it and want to read it again and again. Hence, the library. Getting a book from the library means that I don’t feel badly if I return it without finishing it because it sucks. And it also means I don’t spend an arm and a leg on books. And my one small bookshelf isn’t overflowing. This is my ‘burb’s library. I really like it because: — It is easy to park. They have their own lot and aren’t in an area where street parking is hard to find(AHEM, Kirkwood). — The people who work there are friendly. — They have a good selection — and if not, they belong to the consortium of local libraries in St. Louis, so you can request books from any of them to be sent for you to be picked up. — You can request books online. — They send you emails if your request is fulfilled or a book is about to be overdue. — They have return bins outside that are drive through style– you can return stuff without getting out of your car! — Good hours. It isn’t a huge branch, which is why I can’t give it 5 stars, but I quite enjoy it and almost never go to the county library.
