I’m not a décor person, so I’m only rating the food and service. This is the only Chinese restaurant my family patronizes. It is close to home, the food is always delicious, and the portions are always generous. Our favorite is usually the cashew chicken. Yum! We usually do take-out, but have occasionally eaten there. Service is prompt and friendly. Tea is served at the beginning of the meal and cut oranges and plum wine are served at the end. I love this place.

This place has not been redecorated since the 70s and I am not sure if it has been cleaned since the 80s. The food is bland on its own and they use way too much sauce to cover it up. Much better in Webster.

Been here forever and nothing has changed and sometimes that’s not a bad thing. Its familiar, reliable and that is a good thing. Menu is reasonable, food is good for the price point. The décor is the same as it always has been. Take out service is always 10 minutes. The Jade Palace is my go to for Chinese food cravings.

Jade palaces food is on point they have fair prices. Décor leaves something to be desired but more important is the food which is very good and I don’t think they ever get too busy so it’s a good place to come on a Saturday night when you can get other place or have to wait an hour.

I came here because of the Unilocal scores and reviews and went with three coworkers. Initially my first impression was concerned because the outside and entrance are in serious disrepair. When you go inside it’s pretty obvious this place has been around for decades. The menu prices are good and the lunch prices are very good. My opinion flipped around for the better when the food arrived. I ordered the Basil Thai Chicken dish(not on the lunch menu but the dinner menu) and the flavors were outstanding. I was concerned about ordering a Thai dish from a Chinese place but the flavors were spot on. My co-workers liked the dishes they ordered. I would go here again, don’t let the cosmetic issues chase you away. The place is old but clean, very spacious, with decent prices and great food.

Definitely a to-go kind of place. The interior lacks a lot in the esthetics department, it is not inviting at all. Think of an 80’s Chinese restaurant that hasn’t been updated. Food is good, not the best. It is great when you want Chinese and don’t want to drive far.

Had a great meal here tonight. Service was okay, would have had one more glass of wine but didn’t want to wait any longer. But… very nice people and excellent food. I love it here!

Ended up here after going the wrong way to another Chinese spot, and I gotta say, not mad at it! They could have more vegetarian options and maybe some white-washing of the walls, but my veggie fried rice was great and the service goes above and beyond to make you feel satisfied. They give you fried wontons and a sweet and sour type sauce to snack on, as well as black tea to start, both complimentary. My rice had a plethora of veggies, onion, peas, carrot strips, BABYCORN, mushrooms, water chesnuts, sprouts, and some green strips of something yummy. My fiancé’ fully enjoyed his beef and broccoli as well, and it took seriously about 5 short minutes to receive our food. Awesome because we were starving! I heard nothing but satisfactory comments from the other guests, and the staff seemed to keep themselves busy working. When the check came they gave us some big orange slices, fortune cookies, AND offered complimentary plum wine. The front entrance smells a bit too much like old cigarettes, but these are good people and deserve good customers! The small problems I’ve listed can be EASILY fixed.

I ordered takeout tonight. Lobster Lo Mein, the house fried rice, and beef with snow peas. They said fifteen minutes, and the food was ready when I got there in fifteen. Everything was fresh. Vegetables still crunchy, and the meats tasty. I’d go back for the Jade fried rice alone! We will be back.

My husband and I decided to go there for dinner last night. We should have known by the 3 cars in the parking lot at prime dinner hour that it wasn’t a great place to eat, but I was hungry and we had driven there. The one plus was that we were greeted when we walked in and were escorted to a table and given menus. There were 3 other groups of people at tables at varying points in their meal. We saw a server bring things out to one of the tables. She did not once acknowledge us. She didn’t bring water. We had never been there so we spent a pretty decent amount of time reviewing the menu and still no acknowledgement. We closed our menus and stared out at the room. She came back out and didn’t make eye contact and then went back into the back. We had a discussion back and forth about whether we should leave and still nobody came out. We finally did head out. A lady at the front said«Come again.» Ha, nope. That’s never happening again. On the bright side, we went to Royal Dynasty down the road for the first time after leaving Jade Palace, and that place has great service and is delicious. Royal Dynasty was a much, much better choice!

Pros: Offers a large drink menu, some vegan options(not a lot, though), free fried wontons and tea with dinner. Two of four entrées were good. Cons: Our waiter didn’t know English very well; the number of vegan options is much reduced from past years; fresh spring rolls were not fresh; one entrée was wrong; some entrées and appetizers were not very good; food did not arrive at the same time. A couple of days ago, my family and I dined at Jade Palace for the first time in about four years. The place is not as good as it used to be and shows signs of neglect. One bad sign is that the garden near the front door is in poor condition. It makes a bad first impression as you’re entering the establishment. Our waiter was polite, but his grasp of English was very poor. He had trouble understanding us, and vice versa. The menu listed Thai prik khing with various meat options(beef, chicken, or fish). I tried to order it with tofu instead of meat. You might think that this substitution would be an easy request to accommodate, but my order seem to really confuse the waiter. Nevertheless, after a few awkward back-and-forth exchanges, accompanied by some pointing to the specific item printed on the menu, he seemed to understand. Well, apparently he DIDN’T understand. When my food arrived(well after my companions had already received their orders), what I ACTUALLY got was Pad Thai with tofu, not prik khing with tofu. Oh well. I didn’t make an issue of it, despite the fact that the Pad Thai wasn’t very good — it was dry with a strange peanut-flavored powder(not crushed peanuts) on the side. Another issue: We ordered Thai fresh vegetable spring rolls as an appetizer. The rolls had obviously been prepared well in advance, and the wrappers were chewy, dry, and stale. We also ordered scallion pancakes as an appetizer. The scallion pancakes were unremarkable, though perhaps a bit thinner than I would have liked — but they came without any dipping sauce. The lack of sauce was disappointing. My wife did enjoy her vegetarian General Tso’s «chicken»(made with faux meat), and my father liked his shredded pork in brown garlic sauce. My mother thought that her pork was tough. One final note: The last time I ate at Jade Palace, which was probably four years ago, they had a separate menu with extensive vegan options on it, consisting of many forms of faux meats and faux seafood items. That menu is unfortunately now gone, and there are only a handful of explicitly vegetarian/vegan items — and most of those are only listed on a small card that you need to request, not on the main menu or even alternative menu. All in all, it was a mediocre meal, at best. I won’t be back.

The service is great! The food is delish! The décor MUST be updated. Its a little retro. I’ve been eating thier for atleast 25 years(since I was a kid, I’m 34 now) and its always a crowd pleaser! A+ ! Stop by for lunch for an awesome deal ! Soup, Eggroll, Rice and plentiful/plump sized entrée for approx $ 5.95! I love the General Tsos chicken. White chunk chicken, fried gently, yet crispie, drenched in garlicky sauce with a little zip of heat! So satisfying. Large portions ! I’ve also tried the HUNANBEEF! It is fantastic. Chewy, moist and wet, but with a little crispiness to it. It really will make your mouth water! They use to provide plum wine at the end of the meal…(I was always served it at like age 13 w/my family) however, I don’t think they do the plum wine anymore. All and all. You will love this gem of a resturant! Very friendly, polite staff. Succulent food ! I will go here forever !

My family has been going there for over thirty years(since before it moved to its present location and was called Jade Fountain) and have never been disappointed. Mr & Mrs. Sun sold it a few years ago but the qualiity has remained excellent.

I was introduced to Jade by my co-workers in Webster about 10 years ago. We would go there and get the lunch specials. Great food for the money with good size portions. I love the sauce they use on the General Tso’s chicken. It’s a darker and richer sauce than others I’ve tried. After a long hiatus from a job change my wife and I were trying to think of a place to get some good takeout. I wasn’t positive that they did takeout, but it was a perfect excuse to go back to Jade. Sure enough they do takeout, and food is as excellent as I had remembered. One thing I like is that they are never skimping on the sauces. They have boxes of them behind the counter and you ask for some soy or duck sauce and they hand you a pile full. Love it!

My daughter worked there as a bartender briefly… I haven’t eaten there in many years, but my daughter saw the kitchen and she said it was filthy. Check out the health department restaurant inspections —
