Sixt Rent a Car

A fantastic experience all around. The people were friendly and made the whole process simple. I would highly recommend Sixt for anyone in need of a car rental in the area.

Are you kidding? You’re going to confirm a reservation for a pickup time when you are closed? It took us an hour to get out here, and all because you promised us a reservation that you could not fulfill.

i wouldn’t even give them a star. horrible. stay away!

meeh. had a bad experience here. I will not return to this place of business. dropped car off only 2 hours late due to traffic and rental company charged me a full extra day instead of prorating time. They never warned me beforehand of this unreasonable penalty fee.

Bad Experience renting car ever! They charged me over price than any places.
We booked it from Hotwire for 4 day car rental and it is estimated $ 287.57 but after we came back they charged me $ 869.49. It is a ripped off. my boyfriend called and asked them nicely but the guy is so rude to him. Not gonna rent car with them again and will tell everyone to be careful with their trick. It is not fair and service is so bad. First they are nice to us but after charged us they are not! Can’t imagine how could they do business like this. We got the tiny car from them, no choice. Now we come back to rent Enterprise which much better customer service with bigger car while cost less. SIXT should not be in this business.

I was helped by Nelson Alvarado for my 3 days car rental. Nelson is very professional, he makes rental process fast and easy. I was given Nissan Altima but had my eye on brand new Camry on the lot. He did the switch process done in 3 minutes. Nelson is amazing, I will definitely use Sixt again.

They gave me a car that wasn’t ready. Then charged me more than my original deal. Watch your credit card after you leave for extra «fees»

This review is more a review of Jeremy, the manager, than Sixt Rent a Car. Without going into too much detail, there was an issue with my rental. Jeremy was apologetic about the issue, made the wrong a right and was a true professional throughout the experience.

I have been renting from them like 3 years now and they’ve become friends. The best customer service ever. You get picked up from your home to their office and then when you bring the car back you get a nice drop off too. The cars are new and clean, the price is amazing for the cars you get. You even get a GPS for free, you can connect your phone or iPod to their car to listen to your favorite musics and to take your calls hands free. You get an EZ Pass as well for those of you that’s thinking of crossing the bridge. This is a plus for it is a walking distance from my home but i still call them to pick me up :). The guys are so nice and sweet and they instantly click with you and become friends. I needed that when I moved here since I didn’t know anyone around. Did I mention that the price is the lowest ever on car renters? Is so in expensive that I rent and keep the cars for long some times. They have always been helpful and flexible with me and with others I’m sure. So enjoy your rental and share your experience so others can make their decision to rent with them. Thank you.

This is by far the best deal AND customer service, I have received in my car rentals over the past 7 or so yrs of renting. I was given utmost importance as a customer on a budget business in NYC/​NJ area, everyone was available when contacted which is a great plus! I’ll only go with SIXT wherever I can now!

The service here is always perfect. Every employee is competent and a joy to deal with. I have rented here on many occasions and the experience is always pleasant.

Ben needs to take his humor on the road. The kid is funny and makes a boring car rental visit more pleasant.
Needed a car for a quick trip to Philly and Ben gave me two choices due to my height (and width!). There were no issues when I had to swap the nissan for the vw.

SO FRIENDLY! Ben made renting a car a monumental event. The whole experience from finding their business on Unilocal,contacting them via phone and picking up the car was convenient. I work in the hospitality industry so I am confident that I can recognize 5 star customer service when I get it. Ben was knowledgable and quick to get me into the car that fit my needs– and beyond friendly :) give him a raise! His high positive energy set the tone for the rest of my day! Highly recommended and I will be back!

The service offered and the experience is quite good, and better than any other car companies I’ve dealt with. Sky (I think that’s her name) did a great job of answering questions, even called the manager with a one off question I had, and there was no pushy insurance/​etc sales… They show rates online, and what you see is what you get.
Location is beautiful, and much cheaper than in NYC.
I arrived same time as 3 other customers, and had to wait a few minutes, but I can see why others would want to use this.
Still waiting on final bills (ezpass, etc), but I’d have to give a 5 for the stress free experience.
I almost don’t want to recommend it so that it’ll always be available for me, but it is a top notch operation… did I mention that free gps comes with it?
The only downside is they are not open on Sunday, so you have to rent it an extra day, but the costs are still much lower than across the river, and it worked out quite well that I used it the extra day to run errands…

Friendly professional and very helpful staff. They took care to understand my needs and accommodated them very well. No impersonal big company behavior here. All the advantages of a small tightly knit team.
I would thoroughly recommend them. Of course the location is an added bonus. :) just come off the ferry from NYC and they are right there. A quick 5 minute registration and you are on your way.

I’ve been renting from Genius Car Rental for the past three years, for a wide variety of needs (e.g., running around town, Costco, moving my office, road trips, collecting friends & family from the airport), sometimes on very short notice. Always very pleased and satisfied with the availability and selection of vehicles, I was especially delighted when they got the SmartForTwo, and Fiat 500 as part of their fleet! These are fun cars to drive when running errands around town, and there is NEVER a problem finding parking on the street in NYC! The fleet of cars and SUV’s that Genius offers are well maintained, clean, comfortable, and come with an EZPass! And best of all, the prices are very competitive. I love riding the ferry, and as a user of many of the car share services and rental companies doing business locally and around the country when I travel, Genius stands out for their service, attention to client details, availability, and are always my first choice. I highly recommend them.

Great rental company! I wanted to rent a fiat for the weekend just to see how it drives. I found Genius car rental on google, called them and did the reservation over the phone. They told me that the fiat was not available on the dates that I specified, so I scheduled it for another date. It’s a bit pricey but I guess it’s reasonable since they’re the only ones that have fiats (fee-​ought) in their inventory. They’re very easy to deal with.
