Spicy Gringo’s was founded in January 2011, by Michelle and Alan Huffman.
Originally opened in Wellsburg, West Virginia, the restaurant grew through the years requiring the business to expand and to relocate to Weirton, West Virginia, in October of 2015.
Currently located near the Weirton Medical Center, Spicy Gringo’s is committed to continuing its mission to provide fresh food (you’ll find no freezer or microwave), utilize local ingredients when available and provide its Southern Californian inspired dishes.

Meet the Business Owner
Alan H.
Business Owner
Alan was raised in New Cumberland, West Virginia but traveled to San Diego in the summer of 1992 for what he thought would be a year or so after graduating college.
While in San Diego, Alan met his future wife, Michelle, and after getting hitched on the sand, the newlyweds made their way back to West Virginia. Although the couple dreamed of opening a pizza shop in California, Alan knew that pizza joints in the valley were just as plentiful as taco stands were in Cali, so the couple decided to open a taco stand.
Unfortunately, in 2012, the world lost Michelle to breast cancer, however, Alan continues to operate the restaurant in her memory, even volunteering for Michelle’s Mile’s 4 Smiles — a charitable organization founded by customers of the restaurant.
Alan continues to put his spin on traditional dishes, including but not limited to the Mexican Calzone, Mexican Pizza and his beloved cheesesteak nachos.
Come on in and say hello.
